And don’t forget Yuu Yuu Hakusho, on which Bleach was (apparently) modeled.

Question: Does Inu Yasha hold the all-time record for Most Filler In Anime, Ever?

Even though I still like the characters, design, storyline, c’mon. This is getting, well, tedious.

Is this manga we’re talking about, because you can’t finish “Bleach,” as anime.
Inuyasha must go on much longer than the anime, because the anime seems to have ended after Kagome and Inuyasha shoot the arrow together.

I don’t mind Inuyasha fillers. Like DBZ, They don’t seem that noticeable to me, because they don’t go on for many episodes, like Bleach’s.

I don’t get the Bleach ones. Are the filler arcs in the manga too? Otherwise, I’d have to wonder whether the maker of it wasn’t sure where it was going with Aizen and the gang vs Ichigo and his bunch. I like the funny post-credits endings of Bleach. They’re very silly! Having the characters be like actors being the characters was very clever! I’m glad Ichigo’s dad showed up as a reaper before him. That was cool! Don’t tell me what happens! I’d read the manga, but I don’t like black and white artwork that looks like things, as opposed to designs, except if they’re humorous.

Quick question :o

Can I start wathing Naruto Shippudden without having first watched Naruto? Someone told me Naruto was more chidish and Shippudden is where it’s all at 😛

appears in ninja smoke

As this thread’s resident (and possibly only) Narutard, I must say YES!!! Thou must watch the first half to make sense of the second. -.-

Failure to do so, and I shall inflict upon thee… Sennen Goroshii!! D8<

Ok ok ok ok! I’ll start with Naruto before moving on to Shippudden! 😛

Good lad. May I also suggest you skip the fillers or better yet, read the manga so you may get up to speed faster. 🤓

I have a good feeling that the series is nearing its end though. Sure some people say its overrated but seeing the whole length of it all from the point of the current chapters, I still believe its quite epic.

And no, its no longer similar to Dragonball trust me.

No, I’m pretty sure Bleach would blow it out of the water in that category… Just look at the total number of episodes for each one; Inuyasha ended early without a conclusion at 167 episodes while Bleach is set to be well over 300 (next year), and actually inserts whole story arcs as fillers. :o

Still getting hold of Naruto but I just started One Piece. Animation is a bit strange in style… but so far it looks alright, hoping it gets good because many people rage on about it!

Still watching Death Note and Bleach. Got hold of Afro Samurai and Sumaria Champloo and they look great!

I didn’t know if anime fillers followed manga fillers. After all, if the manga is further ahead than the anime, you’ve already got the main thread laid down, right? So, why have fillers?

I like nautical themes, but no one interested me in One Piece.

One Piece’s story is pretty good but I personally have no taste for the author’s style. I’m more into Fairy Tail, generic the story can be at times. :o

The word “filler” by nature of its understood use, doesn’t apply to manga at all, because what happens in the manga is considered the canon storyline. If the author of a manga (cough… Bleach) decides to stretch out the plot for some reason or go onto unrelated tangents then that’s another issue, but it still isn’t technically filler.

As for your question about what if the manga is ahead of the anime… that depends. If it isn’t far ahead enough then it’s easy for the anime to catch up too quickly (since it typically progresses through the story at a faster pace) so they may still use fillers there to keep it far enough behind. If a manga is already finished like Fullmetal Alchemist is now then it’s not going to be a problem and they can churn out the episodes as fast as all their resources will allow with no other limitations. I think they’re finally going to make a remake of Inuyasha like this too since it’s manga has also finished and the first try at an anime ended too early in the story.

ETA: Ok looks like they already did a “remake” of Inuyasha, but just of the parts the other anime left out… I just recently even started watching Inuyasha, so sue me… 😛

Really? How do I see the left out ones? I don’t see the need for a remake, but that’s OK.

Thanks for the info.!

I don’t think the officially licensed English dub has even been released yet. I could give instructions on how to watch it online, but that would invoke the wrath of our resident copyright corps! 😉 (not that I’ve done it myself anyway… I haven’t even finished watching the English dub of the original Inuyasha)

The original Inu Yasha just kind of had a non-ending ending. I think this is a continuation, not a re-make, so the series actually ENDS.

I’ll probably end up buying it, lol. I’m on season 4 or 5 or something.

Unless it would be stealing, you can send the info. to sievephile@gmail.com. Thanks!
It may or may not be “stealing” depending on who you talk to here, and there have been endless debates over the subject here already. :o Since I don’t want to start another foolish argument over something so trivial I’ll just post the official name of the series and let you do whatever you will. It’s called “Inuyasha: The Final Act”.
