Precisely
anyhow: The bible was send on its way by the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

But what’s even worse badly worded, that’s my English in this forum. Leela and others didn’t understand me in the least, and finally I got this mail today:
“your English is ‘English pattern’ speech and not American pattern, and needs a little translation”
so, I wonder if anyone understood what I was talking about lately 😦
I think I’d better leave in order not to ster up wrong conclusions when I speak about holy things, making people think I talk about the weather or crack jokes :rotfl:

Anyhow: Weather here is sunny and I’m taking the dog for a walk now (that was off topic smalltalk not holy )
Your way of writing is more European trying to write American. 😃 Please do not leave for long. It snowed in Sunshine 2 days ago in Northern Virginia, and will again tommorrow some. No one is guessing what kind of winter we will have.

We are left speechless that Rob Gunter is secret custodian of the famed Pecos Library. 🍿 :coffeeread: :compcoff: Or perhaps he has figured out how to google. His Texas wisdoms are noted…, etc  :hmmm:

My way of writing German is more American grammar that German. I speak German, Korean, Japaneese and am working on learning English.😃 I actually speak several Native American languages, Apache, Lakota, Navajo, and words of several others. Reference: Weather ~:compcoff: It was 70 here today, almost 80 yesterday. It will be 65 tomorrow, might need a long sleeve shirt if this keeps up. Tony do you ever read what the threads are about?:hmmm:

Of course that Bible is a catholic book! Dulllll:popcorn:

Thread? What’s a thread? I got lot of loose ones. Don’t tell anybody. :tsktsk:
Now, back to OP…:onpatrol:…small C catholic Bible looks better. Long as Every Body knows our Church Fathers wrote the Words of the Lord, in NT, and selected All Books belonging to the Canon Bible in late 300’s.

I speak Transylvanian Hungarian also. Folks in Hungary speak weird.

Got your Greeter training, Rob? Is not job for amateurs.

So you want to charge a fee for any non-Catholics to read the Bible? Why was it Written? For only Catholic Church members? Do you think Our Saviour would agree with you that the Bible Is Ours? Did he commission the Apostles to teach Catholics Only?

Didn’t say you’re an amateur, Rob. Did say you are a Rookie! Good Luck:tiphat:

**Dears friends and relatives, neighbours, spectacle wearers and even Christians 🙂
Let me attack you in my unworthy incomprehensible European English – hardly but the hard way picked up in the lower class surrounding of a factory in Queen Elizabeth’s II. England of 1958,
for I sadly enough must disagree with this, however beautiful dictum: :imsorry:
Only Catholics should touch the bible. It is OURS!< :tsktsk:
Don’t beat me, but how should we teach the many Leelas and Broeres and all the other searching minds, not even to speak of all the heathens and pagans we see in our clubs and neighbourhood and even among close friends and relatives, when we won’t let them touch the Bible?! :hmmm:

Let’s remember Jesus word; Go and tell all creatures my word
Mark 16:15= "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation”.

Now, that’s going to be a hard job, yes near to impossible, if we won’t let them touch the bible, but say instead NO! It is OURS! :coffeeread:

Then they will return with: Oh, you’re kidding, never - it never says a thing like that in your bible.

But well… it might be after all, that we make them ever so nosy and curious that way, and they even fight to have a glance into our book then.
Psychologically speaking; that might even be a new way of fighting for the gospel?! Looking at it from this perspective I mean… well… :extrahappy:

Let’s keep this new strategy top secret!

Hi Tony,
Ok My Brother, here we go Catholic 101, Pay attention there will be a quizz later.

The scriptures was not intented to become a book! They were documents used to teach just like the Hebrew brethern did in temple. There were so many and some that were ckearly false that the were reviewed and approved. I am sure that 5,000 years ago a simular thing happended with the OT also. It was s"stable" by time Jesus came around. A thousand years from now, The NT should be firm also (There are over 100 “different” versions, not counting the languages the bible is written in)

**IMO the devil uses the Bible, to corrupt the hearts and minds of some really good people. In the past the Church attempted to limit the access to the bible, but the devil prevailed putting false understanding into the minds of men.I am sure Satan said: “If you read from the Book of Knowledge, you will have enternal life. You can become like God in all things!” The serpent strikes again! **
Wher doe it say that you have to "Read the bible to be saved?"

**The people should have access to the “REAL” bible. I personally have 11 or more bibles, plusthe book of Morons, an English Version of the Tanakh (Jewish OT) , and the Qur’an (or Koran). Two different Roman Catholic Lectionary for Mass and dozens of other Catholic books and references I taught our religion toadults and children for years. **

The scriptures were intented to be used in worship services such as we do in Mass. Why do we need a Bible to “learn” the word of God?

They can use “our” original version of the bible as “Our” church determined was correct and obtain our interpretation of what the bible means to use during their services. I think the common person having a bible, that they read, is ver simular to a kid with an automatic weapon (you know “it” is coming don’t you?)

**I am starting to think you are actually Br. Tony, with a cute accent.😃 **

Did you notice that Mark 16:15 Didn’t say: "Give them Bibles so they could read about the good news"

**IMO, The protestants, with the help of the devil, have intentionally corrupted and spread the “false” word of God through altered versions of the “Real” Bible authorizied by Jesus’ church 1700 years ago. They knowingly have printed and distributed these bibles all over the word spreading their erroneous teaching in order to bring their leader, Satan, more souls through their efforts. **

God Bless!

From machine gunner: It is OK, (KJV!) 😃 It should have a lot of holes in it from where they removed, changed, altered, erased, modified, eliminated, distorted, around 3,600 things in the 1800s doesn’t it?**

It is dangerous for them touch the Bible without first being taught! As Peter said, “There are many things in the letters of our beloved brother Paul that are hard to understand, that the untaught and the unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the rest of the scriptures.”

So, for the safety of the untaught and the unstable, they must first be taught, to avoid their twisting scripture to their own destruction. First they are taught, then they can go to scripture without risking their destruction! But for a non-Christian to go to scripture first, reading a Gideon Bible in the isolation of their motel room…

**YUP, we are suppose to make preachers, not books. And they have over 100 versions of the real bible. The SDA just comleted two more I heard. The baptist may beworking on a couple, With 61,000 different counterfeit denominations it is actually to count the various bibles being rewritten and corrupted. Not to mention being taught by Televanagist with their misinterpretations.

God Bless**

**It’s true, that unstable must be taught first and whilst reading in the bible.
Still – atheists and disbelievers hardly will listen to Christians, when and whilst they read in the bible; nor would they dare to ask a Christian, for this would show honest interest.
So, only them know, they read in the bible. Might be they read secretly in the school-bible of their children and grand-children.
That’s why public forums are so important, where those seeking, get a hint how to handle what they at first might find a puzzle.
However; we all know of atheists who by no teaching before, and having been brought up in atheist families, suddenly found to believe, when a verse of the gospel caught their eye.

But then, it’s also true, that sadly enough there are quite a few former Christians – most of them way under 30 or 40, who skip all Christianity as “old age stuff”.
I several times sneaked into forums of 18-year old former ministrants, pretending I was their age. I asked them then “…and where remained your being a Christian? Here’s just small-talk – not even a touch of Christianity”.
“Oh, shut up with that old ladies stuff” was the answer.

So; they are not touched by Christianity any more, think it to be a private matter you might believe or not without any consequences: They in fact have become a lot worse than “unstable”.
Those are the groups and individuals I’m talking about. They won’t listen to further teaching and when, they react as this reader did in >What if God Gave Us Proof?<: “Can someone explain the above post addressed to me? I don’t understand what Bruno is saying.” As they fight against any understanding of Christian believe.

Those friends in Christ are well advised to try and read open minded in the Bible. For - if they want to understand, they will be given understanding - without being taught. Later, they might seek further teaching; not now right away, when they still fight it:
Luke 11:10 + Matthew 7:8
For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. So – let them have the bible.

In fact – very often in our shop, when sending manger-sceens to customers, within German speaking Europe, we’d include a free copy of the New-Testament, and customers are free to take one of them off the pile in our shop without charge of course (we had them free too). Not too many do so though. And when I asked hotel managers about the Gideon-Bible, they’d say; hardly anyone reads in it – the bible mostly stays untouched.

To return to former Christians who don’t care any more: Very often they had been taught and admonished to often to much with what they call “that stuff”. We ought to be a little more restrainedly and avoid saying YOU MUST!
Thanks to my parents who did so back in the 40th and later.

The Bible is a Roman Catholic Book.

As for the word “Roman,” that is an Anglicanism—considered superfluous by all continental Europeans. It is like calling a man by his confirmation name, in addition to his baptismal and family names.

The word “Roman Catholic” really came from the legislative enactments of Protestant England. They tried to pretend that there was another “Catholic” Church, namely, the “English Catholic.” Hence the name “Roman” was needed to distinguish the two. We still employ the consequences of their fiction.
I have always considered myself Catholic. Do I have to say Roman Catholic because the Vatican is in Rome?

I notice certain Anglicans say they are “high” Anglican - in other words the “higher” they are the closer they are to the Catholic Church - some like to say they are Catholic. Hmmmmm.

Whenever I have visited England and been to some of the beautiful Churches I think that they were once Catholic. I also look at some of the beautiful stately homes and think they were once monasteries which were taken away from the Church and I think of the poor who were supported by the Monks and how they must have suffered. Hmmmmm

🤷

Not good to chastise Anyone. Not one person. And ridiculing wisdoms, one’s thoughts is very atheist, foreign. And ridiculing another’s thoughts is Lowest form of attack. Even atheists avoid that.

Bruno is handicapped from working anymore, like in Sculpting. He has brilliant ideas. We appreciate them.
Our apologies, Bruno. We appreciate your wisdoms and attitude. Very few offer a Bible to Customers. Whunderbahr, Bruno. Vhile Danke (Pardon the mispelling)
