Wooo Hooo… I finally don’t feel left out! They came around to my work today and passed out The End od False Religion is Near…too bad they didn’t come to my house! I can finally read it for myself and see what everyone has been talking about!!!
 
I printed out the two links Jeff gave from his website, “Worldwide Message” and “The End of False Prophecy”, the last in color. I made 8 copies of each and attached them together.
I will be laying them in a couple laundry mats and handing them to any jw that shows up at my door.

FYI: Just make sure the “owner” is okay with you leaving the material there for others to pick up and read.

Some laundry mat owners don’t care, others do.

Page 116 has a beautiful picture of our Governing Body (from 1992 - some have since passed away) all smiling sweetly in their suits and ties. Precious! This picture warms my heart. If you’re truly interested the book is entitled, “Jehovah’s Witnesses - Proclaimer’s of God’s Kingdom”.
7- Is one of them buried next to a Mason Lodge with a Pyramid Headstone? Possibly. There are bodies of many faithful men and women buried near a variety of things. How is this of any relevance whatsoever?
8- How many times have you seen any of the Governing Body members at your conventions? Many. They don’t stand out in the crowd, they wear regular clothes and sit with the rest of us. You could be sitting next to one, sharing lunch and conversation and not know who he was until he was announced at the podium to speak. No special garb, rings to kiss, or Prada shoes. They are humble, loveable and kind. Their only title is “Brother”. They view themselves as servants of Jehovah’s people and we are so thankful for our dear, loving Governing Body!
Did Jesus wear any special robes or garb? How did the soldiers coming to arrest him before his death recognize him? only by Judas’ kiss of betrayal. Jesus warned at Luke 20:46&47, “Look out for the scribes who desire to walk around in robes and like greetings at the marketplaces and front seats in the synagogues and most prominent places at evening meals…and for a pretext make long prayers. These will receive a heavier judgement.”
9- Do you know how many charities the WTBS is involved in? We follow Proverbs 3:27, “Do not hold back good…when it happens to be in the power of your hand to do it” and help our fellow man in any way we can. The WTBS does not dictate to whom or how much we should donate, that’s a personal decision. My family regularly donates to causes such as breast cancer, CHP, the blind, and the senior’s meal program (if you must know). However, the bulk of our donations go to the worldwide work of Jehovah’s Witnesses and we get regular reports on how the funds are spent. Our primary concern is the preaching that Jesus instructed his followers to do at Matthew 28:19. We take this command seriously. We look to God’s kingdom to bring relief to the millions who are scarred by AIDS, genocide, starvation, war, and the multitude of other horrendous things millions are experiencing in these “last days”. Any efforts, though well intentioned, that humans make really amount to putting a Band-aid on a festering, gangrenous lesion.

Though there hasn’t been a prompt response to your questions please don’t imagine that you have stumped us, taught us a lesson, or that we are intimidated by your “vast knowledge”. I do not frequent websites that teach falsehoods but came upon this when I googled the name of our tract. Jehovah’s Witnesses are very busy with our special tract work denouncing False Religion! well, i hope you come back soon, and i hope you found the information from the book by Jason Evert, “Answering Jehovah’s Witnesses” and the chapter “Is hell real?” informative. It will help you understand that yes, there is a hell, and it is real.

Not to sound unkind, but…why post in the first place?
It’s like you get a chance to say your piece, and then when a retort is given, you flee under the umbrella of “JW-bashing” and “no time”.
You certainly had time to deposit your own views.

i noticed that when we submit proof that there is a hell and so forth, that they do not answer it and run 😦 gspollet stated she did not believe in hell, so i went and grabbed Jason Evert’s book, answering jehovah’s witnesses, and took alot time to share the chapter here, and she never even gave it the time of day. she states her beliefs, then runs when we provide proof to refute it. this is typical jw behavior. also, i made a post specifically where we could discuss this new tract of theirs and they never bothered to even grant us the time of day in that post to discuss it. likely because they don’t want to hear truth, or they simply just want to believe their tract and not let anyone refute it. oh well. the people who came in here are heavily indoctrinated and that is a shame. i know what it is like to be like that so do many others here at CAF. but, i pray for them never the less, and will pray that they come back and want to discuss TRUTH.

I wish our JW guest who posted this would just stop for a minute, step back, and read his or her post over again.
The above statement just drips with pride and arrogance.
That kind of pride and arrogance and smartalecky tone
are definitely not the fruitage of the Holy Spirit.
Let’s all try not to be so swollen-headed and puffed up with self-righteousness and pride in what we post.

Seeds may have been planted. If they were planted they may not grow over night. It took real courage for our JW brothers and sisters to be here.👍 They risk “DISFELLOWSHIP” by being here. They are risking being shut out by everyone they know, just by looking at this web-page and posting here. In my opinion, they are here because the Holy Spirit is leading them to the Truth.:bible1:

However, it may take “time” for them to listen to that “Spirit of Truth” and it may even take more time for them to follow that “Spirit of Truth”. I thank God that our JW brothers and Sisters have found their way here to CAF.:gopray2:

I don’t know if they will do this or not. I know that again they risk “disfellowship” by being here, and they would risk a lot more if they were to read the Bible Study. It would even be more of a risk for them to get the Home Based Study.

I don’t know if they a running from the Truth. Sometimes reality can be hard thing to swallow. Maybe they are having doubts about their faith. Maybe they are pulling back, because they have been warned that talking to others can lead them down the “wrong” path. Maybe they are just flat out scared.

Do you mean that you asked questions and they didn’t answer the questions? If so, believe me MyPhilomena, you are not the only one. Of course I posted my questions and hoped and prayed that I would hear an answer. However, I also pray and hope that they would at least take the time to answer the questions for themselves.

I don’t need to hear their answers. However God does. Scripture said to “test all things”. In my personal opinion, I feel that they at least owe it to God to look at the history of their church. To look at past “Watchtower” publications and see if it’s true that they have changed their believes re: Armageddon. To see if they have changed any of their believes. All they have to do is read the past publications for their own church and see.

I like to keep in mind that God, himself, is unchanging. He is the same God, today, yesterday, and tomorrow. His Church, in my opinion, should also be unchanging on its “CORE Believes”.

God’s Church is built on a Rock, so it can withstand the test of time. The Rock is solid it’s a firm foundation. It will not fail!!

However, a church built on a foundation of sand will shift and change as the waves of the times come crashing against it. A church built of a foundation of sand will change and MOLD it’s “CORE” believes to fit in with the times.

So is the JW church built on a Rock foundation or a Sand foundation?

In my opinion, if it’s built on a Rock foundation, then it’s built by God and like God its “CORE” believes will be UNCHANGING.

In my opinion, if it’s built on a Sand foundation, then it’s built by Man and like Man its “CORE” believes will CHANGE.

Read the past publications done by Watchtower and see what has happened to the “CORE” believes like “Armageddon”. Have they changed??? OR have they remained the same???

I’m sure this is so - because they dropped one through my door: & there is no way they could possibly know what religion I might follow; or not follow. And I don’t live in the USA - they are busy in the UK as well.​

I think they are more concerned wih spreading their faith, than with bashing others, even though regarding all other faiths as evil is (IIRC) part of JW belief. I don’t think they are being anti-Catholic in particular, because they reject all non-JW religion as false (unless they have changed in this respect). ##

Again, can you point me to ANY Scripture which mentions Limbo or Purgatory (even the Church after centuries of assigning ones to Limbo is having a rethink on this)

As the apostle Paul said: “a slave of God is not to engage in quarrels” 2 Timothy 2:24 Jerusalem Bible, but to “be a good teacher”. This of course requires one to know the Scriptures and be able to have “your answer ready” 1 Peter 3:15 (Jerusalem Bible) based on scripture.

That said, if you can prove to me that Limbo, Purgatory, Hellfire and the teaching of the immortality of the soul, or any similar doctrines are taught in the 66 books making up Holy Scripture I will come back to the Catholic Church.

Is the issue Hell-fire, or, the existence of a state/condition/place/whatever of eternal damnation ?​

Believing that there is a hell, is not the same as believing it has a temperature or that it is describable as a chemical entity.

The actuality of eternal punishment is not inseparable from images used to make it vivid; just as the wrath of God is a reality, quite apart from the language & imagery which describes it as “poured out”. The imagery is used for the sake of the thing it images. ##
 
I would just like to first say hi, and second, I am a JW. I just wanted to post briefly. I have read most of these sites, and I too just googled the name of the tract to read feedback. This site is interesting, rather the feedback is.

I am not here to debate your beliefs. I just want to ask one thing.

It seems most of you know that door to door is what JW’s do. This campaign is special in that it is being done everywhere at the same time for a limited time. Many of you have stated that you offer your literature when a JW comes. If you think we are on the wrong path, which from reading many posts, most of you do, why dont you come out of your house and use your time to go door to door to save us and whoever else. Why do we have to come to you to find out we are headed the wrong way. If I come to a door and they dont wont the literature, that’s fine. When someone offers my literature, i tell them I will consider it and discuss it with them when they come to my house and try to help me. Not vice versa–I am not sure where this post will come up–I am not replying to anyone in particular, just to all! Thanks for your time!

One reason Catholics do not send their members out door-to-door is that St. James warned us in his Letter that not all of us should be teachers. The Catholic Church has missionaries, and she sends them out. Today the Catholic Faith is available on radio and on nearly all tv stations through EWTN and other Catholic broadcasting services. People who become interested in the Catholic faith can then pursue the matter further, and we are DELIGHTED when they do !!! Catholic Catechisms are available in nearly all bookstores, religious and secular, often for under $10 a piece, such as the small paperback edition of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Door-to-door witnessing was not generally done in the early Christian Church either. Usually, the apostles went into the synagogues and preached, or would teach in the public square or at meeting places by the river, or in lecture halls (like St. Paul taught in the lecture hall of Tyrannus). Most people, regardless of their religious affiliation, are somewhat offended by people coming to their door to preach to them. It seems to them like soliciting, rightly or wrongly, and it is usually disruptive to the plans they have made for the day. I used to be a Jehovah’s Witness, and most of the people weren’t upset with us because of our beliefs, but because we disturbed them on a Saturday morning after they had just spent a stressful week at work and wanted to sleep late.
Those that would listen to us, I found, didn’t want to talk religion with us at first, but were willing to accept the literature IF we offered it to them FREE. Now, back in my day, the early 1980s, I used to give the literature away FREE, but when the Elders found out that I was doing that, they told me NOT to give the literature out free, which I found strange, because I thought that we JWs were interested in saving people from destruction.

As a Catholic, I purchase literature tracts on Catholicism and give them away free to anyone who will take them. And I refer people to websites such as this one, www.catholic.com, Catholic Answers, which has numerous articles explaining our Catholic beliefs to all who are interested, at no charge.

I found the Catholic faith after years of wrestling with my convictions. I was at a second-hand bookstore and picked up a 50 cent used copy of “The Documents of Vatican II” and read the chapter called Lumen Gentium, the Dogmatic Constitution of the Church. That chapter made me HUNGRY. And I began reading the bible by itself. And reading the earliest Christian writers, such as Justin Martyr and Irenaeus.

The Catholic Faith is freely available to anyone who is even remotely interested in God’s will.
But, Shushawnna, you have to admit, and I know this because I WAS a JW many years ago, that JWs in general wouldn’t read Catholic literature even if we did go door-to-door handing out free Catholic literature. The Society and the congregation elders TELL YOU NOT to read religious literature from religions other than the Jehovah’s Witnesses. So what good would going door-to-door do in the case of Jehovah’s Witnesses ? 99.9% of Witnesses would just throw the Catholic literature into the wastecan anyway. Think about it.

Yes, I am one of those people that offer my own literature. I refuse to take the literature from your brothers and sisters in faith, until they take mine. I figure, this is my home, I have my faith, and I didn’t ask the JW to come to my home to share their faith. Therefore, I will not let the JW “lead” the conversation.

My take on it is, I’ll learn what your faith teaches, but at the same time you have to be willing to learn what my faith teaches. It’s got to be a 2 way street, sharing back in forth. However, I have found that your brothers and sister in faith almost never return to my home once I give them my literature. I see them, drive by I watch them stop at my neighbors house. However, they almost never return to my home once I give them my literature.

I had one JW, a lady, stop to my home twice. That was it! When she came back the second time, I offer her more of my literature. She didn’t want to take it. She try telling me it was the same stuff as last time. I told her that it’s not the same stuff as last time. I told her that I knew that her literature was different, and this (my literature) is different too. She took it then, but has never come back to my home.

In the past 3 years, I have had 12 different JW come to my door. All of them but one have never return. I see them go to my neighbor homes, however they don’t stop at mine. That means that 92% of the JW will not return to homes where people give out their own literature. 92%!! That’s a big number! Majority of your members will not share your faith with people that are strong in their Non-JW faith. Majority of your members will not share your faith with people of Non-JW faiths that are open and wanting to share their faith with JW. 92% of your members will stop sharing the Word of God with Non-JW just because they gave the JW literature about their faith and how they view and see the Word of God.
