I was thinking it had to be travelling through the ventilation system.

I wouldn’t expect that it is. Even though large, the people are contained in the same space. They share common corridors, handrails, doorknobs, and common surfaces touched by all which are potential sources of contagions. You may be fastidious in hygiene, but don’t assume others are (in any condition).

China is cleaning its money, that has got me thinking.
Same here.
I read where a family of 4 all died who had self quaramtined.
Wuhan is very big and highly populated. I assume there are similar situations throughout the high infection area.
Personally, I don’t imagine myself waiting in line at an over crowded under staffed clinic. Given the choice I would not.

Well, there were two outbreaks of SARS between November 2002 and into 2004, the last presumed to have started at a laboratory, but there have been no cases of SARS reported since.

Let’s hope this one is contained and then and goes away permanently, too. It will be a question of whether there is a reservoir of this virus in some animal population that has regular contact with humans or if the virus started in a small number of animals who didn’t pass it to a larger population of animal hosts.

Yesterday, Dr. Anthony Fauci said that although the risk is currently low in the US, it could still evolve into a pandemic.

What can/should we do as individuals (particularly those in highly populated areas) do to prepare in the event? No worry but we can prepare.

I noticed that the weather in Singapore is quite warm and humid. It would be worth watching the situation there closely. Some have hoped the virus would die out in warmer temperatures.

Preparations for a coronavirus pandemic would be the same as for a flu pandemic (this is not for seasonal flu; think Spanish flu):

This is actually a really great document. This is a summary of the stuff to know and to do well in advance of a pandemic. You won’t just keep your own family safer by doing these things; you would also help to limit the spread of the pandemic.

Interesting this video has been deleted along with his other one.

This notification doesn’t say if the person had traveled recently.

…seeing continued unhappy sounding response from public via social media towards WHO Director Tedros. Agree or not…it is worth noting but too intense and extensive for discussion on this thread.
Continued thanksgiving and cheers for CDC, DHS, & HSS.
