Three Days of Darkness?

Tom’s problem is he reads Old Testament passages out of context and NOT in light of the New Testament.

As for formation, I assure you, it was quite traditional and quite academically sound.

I have repeated this so often that I’m beginning to sound like a broken record, but… GOD did this. Noah did nothing besides what he was commanded. He didn’t shove people into the water, or step on their necks as he boarded the ark. There was precious little he could do.
Yes, God is in control of souls, and we’re under the law of love that, over and over again, stated that we are to be willing to offer the greatest sacrifice - our lives - for the sake of our friends.
Noah could have reached out to those drowing and pulled them into the ark, he could have built smaller boats and tied them to the ark in order to let the paniced people get on board, etc…he did none of that and yet he could have.

Yes, we are supposed to be willing to offer out lives, no doubt, no question, you are exactly right. However, in the case of the three days, “if” the prophecy holds true we are told that no will sruvive outside, so anyone pounding on our doors CANNOT be real people, they MUST be demons.

One that this revelation denies by stating that believers are to preserve their lives instead of risk them for the sake of their neighbors.
I do not agree. In nearly all circumstances that holds true. However, in the case of the three days we are told that hell will burst open and that the earth will be utterly filled with demons., Anyone calling for help at our doors CANNOT be real people because they would already be dead…those cries for help would be from demons.

It’s getting even more disturbing as this goes on…
Alex, help me out with something. I’d always been taught that demons were non-corporeal. How does this fit in with this alleged prophecy?

Let me ask everyone a question:

Does God “ever” call us to die for a demon? Ever?

Demons are pure spirit…correct. They have no bodies.

As for this scary horror movie script, I love how there’s always a way out to justify seemingly unChristian behavior. Now we know that all live human beings will be inside, behind walls with their beeswax (we forgot about the mountains I guess).

Now we know only demons will be outside, looking for people to kill. Despite the fact demons do not have the power to kill human beings.

Then those calling from outside the doors couldn’t possibly be demons, right? If this comes to pass, then these would be real, suffering people.

Right - I also find it illustrative that our late Holy Father, John Paul II, went to great lengths to promulgate the Feast of the Divine Mercy, but instituted no rite to bless “Three Days of Darkness Survival Kits.”
:rotfl:

God Bless,
Michael

Tom is just trying to justify the sick and twisted narrative he has decided to make a major part of his living the Christian life.

The bit about hell bursting open and earth filling with demons could be from a George Romero script. In fact, it is.

I guess when demons possess people they were given get out of jail free cards?

Demons can enter and animate bodies, certainly you know that.

They can possess human beings. Live ones.

NOWHERE in demonology does the Church teach they can animate the dead.

Again, you’ve been watching too many horror movies.

Knock it off. There is no reason for these constant insults. You know nothing about me at all. I am citing points of the prophecy, it does not come from me.

Now, be mature and counter my points without insult, are you capable of that or should we just ask a moderator to close the thread?

I HAVE countered your points.

If you want to close the thread, go for it. You’d be doing the world a service.

You are missing the point. Accoring to the prophecy (not me), demons will cover the earth in such a wave that no-one will escape, just as no-one could escape the great flood. Further, according to the prophecy, the demons will attempt to use the voices of people we know and love in order to trick us into opening our doors to our death. Finally, have you ever read the passage of the fall in the garden. It sure seems that satan had the ability to trick Adam and Eve quite well.

So when the godless are wiped out after the three days, do the God fearing survivors have dibs on their property. New York has some great real estate. Better get my survival kit ready.

God bless,
Michael

Yeah sure, I am quite certain grabbing property will be on the minds of the 1/4 of hamnity left over.

Satan didn’t tempt Eve to sin by imitating the appearance and voice of a loved one (well, her only loved one at this point). Scripture said that he was “crafty,” “subtle,” or “clever” (depending on the translation). He deceived Eve by twisting the words of God.

I agree, but do you really believe satan is not capable of that?
