So when the godless are wiped out after the three days, do the God fearing survivors have dibs on their property. New York has some great real estate. Better get my survival kit ready.

God bless,
Michael
Tsk, tsk, Michael!

:rotfl:

This isn’t about speculating what Satan could do. It is about determining what God has commanded Christians to do.
It is about more then that. It is about whether or not God would send a severe chastisement upon us like the three days, it is about the nature of satan and his ability to wreak death and desctruction upon earth.

Christian mercy does not come into play as you think because “if” this prophecy is true, then no-one otuside will survive the onslught, no-one will be at our doors, only satan and his demons. It is quite similar to the flood, in that once the chastisement begins, everyone is washed away nearly immediately.

Now, if you think this prophecy is false and that God would not allow such a thing, fine I can respect that.

Basically, if the prophecy is true, then we would be opening our doors to satan, not to our loved ones.

Yeah sure, I am quite certain grabbing property will be on the minds of the 1/4 of hamnity left over.
This just seems utterly ridiculous!! I don’t think that if something like this happened the survivors would EVER think about anything other than what happened. Sounds pretty frightening to me. I certainly wouldn’t be thinking about property of any kind after I just dodged a bunch of demons roaming the earth trying to kill me! Can you imagine conversations after an event like that? Would we EVER talk about the weather again?

I was joking! You know, a joke. 🙂

I was being serious!! What are the ones that are left suppose to do after all the rest of the world including possibly loved ones, being swept away by demons suppose to do? How would they move on? It’s not like we would be in heaven yet. We would still have a life to live.

Only a quarter left! That’s a lot of empty space. :hmmm: You said beeswax candles, right

God Bless,
Michael

Well, they would have to learn how to live in a completely different way.

So is the consensus here that the people that were devoured and werent sheltered with beeswax candles are not saved? What of the homeless, poor or third world catholics w/o accesss to even a house to hide in?

If I understand everything that’s been said here, they’d be doomed. No beeswax candles, no means to cover the windows of your house (if you even have a house), then tough luck for you, buddy.

I get that they would be struck down, but would thier souls be saved if they died in a state of grace?

Tom has also stated a very grievously wrong thing about Catholic teaching.

It’s never “too late” to repent and cleanse one’s soul, before death.

Only death = “too late”.

Not a chastisement, not a divine ray gun, not darkness, not suns falling out of the sky.

Only death.

Until the instant of death, any human soul can turn to God.

ANY “prophecy” that tells people not to help those in agony is from the Evil One more than from God.
However if a soul has sinned against the Holy Spirit they are damned (as that sin can’t/won’t be forgiven) and yet could still be physically alive.

No. According to the prophecy, some saved souls will also perish.

So… the next question is… and I am sincere, why would I want to have candles, and survive this tradgedy when I could be in heaven?
That is an excellent question. I suppose it comes down to whether or not you want to live and help rebuild. Of course, if you are aware of what you should do, and refuse to do it in order to die, then isn’t that a form of suicide?

I suppose it would be if it were some kind of command to the masses from God himself, like in a biblical verse or official Church teaching, but would God AFTER giving us the Holy Spirit to lead the Church at pentecost, and giving said Church power to teach, and lead, then the Church says you are free to believe or not believe this prophesy. ( I am not sure even if the Church has said this.) so if the Church says I am free to believe or not believe and I choose to not believe then am I commiting a sin by choosing not to stick around to rebuild a broken planet when I could actually be in the kingdom of heaven. And another question, why are we rebuilding, and to what end. after this great chastisement how long must we endure until we are ALL granted the beatific vision.
From another perspective, wouldn’t it be the worsip of a false god to want to remain here over heaven?

Also, it can’t be suicide if we aren’t bound by the Church to believe private revelation. Since public Revelation is closed and private revelation doesn’t bind us, we could see a flame in the sky saying “Get your beeswax candles by 6PM” and we wouldn’t be committing suicide.

You are free to believe or not believe. However, say you chose to remain outside because you believe you would be killed, well that is an admission of belief and it would then be a form of suicide. Beyond that, life is precious and we are not allowed to just take our own life or to unreasonably place ourselves in harms way.

It would be a form of false worship if we wanted to be here more then heaven, yet that is not what I am saying. We should want to live here so long as God wants us here.
