The Church will fall with Islam
The Church is still here and stronger than ever. In fact, in my opinion, Islam has already fallen. There is no true leadership in Islam. Essentially it is a faith of confusion. Each person following the Quran and his own conscience as best he can. But many groups contradicting each other since they have no clear leadership as we have in the Magisterium.
and all the other religions when Jesus returns.
Christians are in this world as intercessors for all other peoples. We who are the body of Christ will be rewarded according to our works. Some who neglect to obey God’s commandments may even be condemned to eternal fire.

Other peoples who sincerely seek to follow God but are not aware or do not understand God’s true revelation in the Christian faith will also be saved, but will not receive crowns of glory.

While those who deny Christ knowingly because they refuse to believe what they understand to be true, will be condemned.

That is how what I understand the teaching of the Church.
This is the body and Temple of Jesus and the true House that Jesus builds:
Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
That is correct. And that WE are that temple.

1 Peter 2
5 Be you also as living stones built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 12
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members of member.

Colossians 1

24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ, in my flesh, for his body, which is the church:

Ephesians 5
23 Because the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of the church. He is the saviour of his body.

Romans 12

5 So we being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

You get the idea.

The church as such is all believers, not some denomination of Christianity.
Wrong. The Church is only the Catholic Church. Jesus only established one Church and said that Church would never fall.
Or Islam, or any other religion.
I was under the impression you were Muslim? You aren’t?
They are all too corrupted to remain forever, these religions are the poopy diaper we baby believers make a mess in for a while until Jesus comes to make everything clean. Then they are thrown out.
Noooo. The Kingdom of God is here right now in the Catholic Church.
Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
That is a description of heaven.
Well God leaves only Judah for Solomon then that also is taken away with Babylon. Only David has promise of a kingdom.
Correct. But not in the son of his bowells, but in his line.
You posted the Jewish link, I was addressing their beliefs.
I was emphasizing that they hope in the Messiah.
The Quran doesn’t deny Jesus is Christ, it just denies that God had sex with Mary to produce Jesus and make Mary the third of the Trinity.
Islam pretends that Christianity teaches that God had sex with Mary. But that is a lie or an error by either Mohammed or his followers. Christianity does not teach that God had sex with any mortal.
I’ve been critical of Islam all along here.
But are you Muslim? Are you a follower of Mohammed’s teachings in the Quran?
Ok thanks.
Sincerely,

De Maria

Here God is prophecying the Church.

12 And when thy days shall be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

And this is the prophecy pertaining to Solomon. Solomon is from the seed from David’s bowells and God established Solomon’s Kingdom. This was fulfilled.

13 He shall build a house to my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. God shifts from speaking of Solomon to speaking of Jesus Christ, who built the Church, His Kingdom, forever.

Solomon’s throne was not everlasting though, it was toppled by Babylon. And so was the Temple. Solomon’s promise was entirely conditional. David’s was not, he would keep it no matter what.

DAVID UNCONDITIONAL

2 Samuel 7:16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

SOLOMON CONDITIONAL

1 Kings 9:4 And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

1 Kings 9:5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel. (Meaning he won’t go a generation without a son on the throne)

1 Kings 9:6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:

1 Kings 9:7 Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:

1 Kings 9:8 And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and to this house?

1 Kings 9:9 And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the LORD brought upon them all this evil.

Solomon was cut off. David wasn’t and still had the promise of Messiah to give to another son.

Besides all that you have a big problem if you want to insist that the flesh of Jesus was created from Mary, but say Mary descended from David and Nathan in Luke 3:31, not Solomon. Either way, yours or mine, if that is your belief about Mary’s lineage, Solomon is irrelevant.

Even if Jesus could be adopted by Joseph because Joseph had the curse of Jechonias and there could be no kings in that line anyway.

So the best you can do is say it shifted from Solomon back up to Nathan down to Mary. Not that any Jew believes kingship or tribal status can be passed by a woman, God’s promise never mentioned a woman on the throne, and there is no precedent for any covenant from Abraham/Isaac/Jacob/David being passed by a woman.

But then after accepting all that irregularity, you still have the same problem of God not fulfilling His promise of David never failing to have a son on the throne.
De Maria;3185480:
That is correct. And that WE are that temple.
Then why does it say in Revelation that God and the Lamb are the Temple of New Jerusalem? The believers are in New Jerusalem, but they are not the Temple, God and Jesus are.

CONT’D I was under the impression you were Muslim? You aren’t?

But are you Muslim? Are you a follower of Mohammed’s teachings in the Quran?
I’m Muslim but realize all religions are temporary shadows of what is to come. I worship God and look for Jesus, I don’t make an idol of any religion. But a lot of people do.

Thus I see Christianity and Islam possibly being the great Iron powers of Nebuchadnezzar’s statue, the Gentile Beast, the two world religions based on Judaism which itself is the Clay mingled with the Beast, Jews + Gentiles. The feet on which Idolatry stands.

Christianity and Islam, both not denying Jesus is Messiah though in different ways, are also the Iron Rod used to break the Clay Jews to shivers in Revelation 2:27. And that they certainly have done to Jews through the centuries.

Matthew 12:25-26 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

In the end, Jesus and his everlasting Messianic Kingdom replace all these religions.

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

You agree that God’s Word existed eternally as God, so it would be God’s Word that did the creating.

You also agree that the human spirit and nature of Jesus did not exist eternally as God, God’s Word took it on at some point.

In order to do that the human spirit and nature had to be created as a human for God’s Word to be clothed with it.

If David needs an immediate son to pass his throne to in order for God to keep His promise of an unbroken and everlasting kingdom, there is only one solution. That human spirit and nature was created as David’s son and resurrected into Mary’s womb.

David will also see Jesus as God on earth. But Messiah still has to be descended from David, so there is still the problem you propose whether it is right from David or many generations down to Mary.
you are giving David’s promise more importance than who Jesus is and hence you are finding a solution to the fulfillment of the promise by creating a huge problem regarding Jesus and other point.

1- Since we both agree that Jesus created David and his son, how can Jesus be called the biological son of the one He created? just how can the creator be equal to a biological son? the son needed David to be born, Jesus did not need David to be born…on the contrary, David needed Jesus to be born, so how can Jesus be his biological son if He is His Lord?can you still call Him the physical son of David if He is the One who created Him?and if God needed to fulfill His promise in such a strange way, Jesus could have created a seed of David just as He created David and hence He wouldn’t be called the biological son of the one He created but would have fulfilled the promise by creating the same seed and being called of the seed of David…this view is not stranger than the one you’re presenting because it has to do with God’s ways and power, whereas your view poses a theological dilema because the creator cannot be called a biological son created by a mortal and because:

2- dying and being resurrected in another womb is totally alien to scriptures. Each born human has a soul and spirit specific to him and will be judged accordingly. Jesus’ human spirit will not be judged, David son’s spirit will be judged. To say Jesus took the flesh and spirit of David’s son means that David’s son who died does not have any spirit anymore and hence will not be judged. And we know there is no human who will not be judged.

So you are trying to find a way to God’s promise by presenting innovations alien to scriptures and interpretations that do not fit who Jesus is neither the individuality of each human born.

inJESUS: 1- Since we both agree that Jesus created David and his son, how can Jesus be called the biological son of the one He created? just how can the creator be equal to a biological son? the son needed David to be born, Jesus did not need David to be born…on the contrary, David needed Jesus to be born, so how can Jesus be his biological son
These are your problems. I do not understand these mystries. That is why, I wanted to be excused from this topic. Thanks.

you are giving David’s promise more importance than who Jesus is and hence you are finding a solution to the fulfillment of the promise by creating a huge problem regarding Jesus and other point.
There would be no such thing as “Messiah” if not for that promise to David, that’s who Jesus is, Christ/Messiah, the king of David they were all waiting for. The promise makes Jesus who he is.
can you still call Him the physical son of David if He is the One who created Him?

To say Jesus took the flesh and spirit of David’s son means that David’s son who died does not have any spirit anymore and hence will not be judged. And we know there is no human who will not be judged.
God’s Word created everything, the human spirit and nature of Jesus did not create everything because it is human not God.

Jesus IS the human spirit and flesh of David’s son, the Son of David. God simply went to dwell in him after he was resurrected through Mary.

You say God’s Word existed as God eternally and created all human flesh and spirits and natures, but later “took on” a human spirit and nature of its own that it did not always have eternally, well that’s the human spirit and nature God’s Word “took on” right there the whole time.
So you are trying to find a way to God’s promise by presenting innovations alien to scriptures and interpretations that do not fit who Jesus is neither the individuality of each human born.
No more innovative or alien than resurrecting dry bones laying in the desert. Or creating Adam from dust and placing him in the Garden of Eden. Or causing barren Sarah to bear Isaac. Or anything else God wants to do.

Ezekiel 37:1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,

Ezekiel 37:5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

These are your problems. I do not understand these mystries. That is why, I wanted to be excused from this topic. Thanks.
Planten, these questions are for Faithofabraham. We are discussing the Bible in this case, from his point of view since he knows very well the Quran does not claim it is corrupt. He rejects hadith and interpretations, or at least does not rely on them, that is why you can give the Islamic point of view as found in your sunna or interpretations. If you got no answer, its fine as well because i already said i haven’t found one Islamically.

There would be no such thing as “Messiah” if not for that promise to David, that’s who Jesus is, Christ/Messiah, the king of David they were all waiting for. The promise makes Jesus who he is.
the Messiah’s role is not limited to David. Salvation of Israel and humanity did not exist because of David. So Jesus did not need to come because of David…rather, He was to come as a Jew so David and his lineage are the means, not the reason.

your answer
God’s Word created everything, the human spirit and nature of Jesus did not create everything because it is human not God.
am not sure this adresses my questions.

Besides, Jesus the Word is the Word incarnate…we do not dissect Him. Whatever manifestion the Word takes, be it an angel or human, it is still the Lord of David. So:

can you still call Him the physical son of David if He is the One who created Him?

and:

To say Jesus took the flesh and spirit of David’s son means that David’s son who died does not have any spirit anymore and hence will not be judged. And we know there is no human who will not be judged
Jesus IS the human spirit and flesh of David’s son, the Son of David.
If this is so, Jesus would have agreed when people said He is the biological Son of David, yet He asked how if i am His Lord? Lord does not mean in importance but in reality because He created him.

Besides, the spirit of David’s son will never be judged? because Jesus’ human spirit will not so if Jesus took another human’s soul (non biblical- an innovation) then David’s son will not be judged (non-biblical).
God simply went to dwell in him after he was resurrected through Mary.
people dying and resurrecting in different wombs is not scriptural. Every human is born once and when he dies he will be judged.
You say God’s Word existed as God eternally and created all human flesh and spirits and natures, but later “took on” a human spirit and nature of its own that it did not always have eternally, well that’s the human spirit and nature God’s Word “took on” right there the whole time.
no need to. The human form and spirit did not need to belong to another human. This is simply non-biblical. If God wanted a seed of David to come through, do you think He will rely on David whom He created? can’t God create a seed of David, just as He created David, and come, thus fulfiiling the promise and being rightly called the seed of David yet not his biological son since He is His creator?
No more innovative or alien than resurrecting dry bones laying in the desert.
resurrection of the dead is biblical. Resurrection of the dead in other wombs is not scriptural

“But now he has died; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.”

David, at least, did not believe his child is coming back but that he will go to him, and he did.
Or creating Adam from dust and placing him in the Garden of Eden. Or causing barren Sarah to bear Isaac. Or anything else God wants to do.
these are scriptural because the Bible says God wanted to…your view is not. God did not tell you this so you rely on scriptures to see if what you’re saying is scriptural or not and it is not.
Ezekiel 37:1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
Ezekiel 37:5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
this is scriptural.

To say Jesus took the flesh and spirit of David’s son means that David’s son who died does not have any spirit anymore and hence will not be judged. And we know there is no human who will not be judged.

The human form and spirit did not need to belong to another human.
What else could it belong to, an inhuman? If you say God’s Word “took on” a human spirit and nature, the most logical place to take it on from is a human, don’t you think?

So David’s son who died does have a spirit, it is the human spirit of Jesus. That’s who Jesus is.

And God is God and the creator, never a man.

But the Holy Spirit went to dwell fully in Jesus, and so Jesus is God’s Word to the people.

That’s how God’s Word took on the form of a man, because God put it in a man.

  1. take it from? He needs to take it from no one. It was Jesus, and only Jesus’ body…not a body that existed and died before.
  2. Jesus IS the Word that created everything. No need to repeat this right?
Either you are saying God has eternally had a body and a human spirit and was also a man called Jesus.

Or you are saying that God created a man that had a human body and spirit, then God dwelled in that man called Jesus.

There’s not really anything in between that, and not much more I can say.

Solomon’s throne was not everlasting though, …
There is no Solomon’s promise. It is David’s. Read what you posted.
1 Kings 9:5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever,** as I promised to David thy father, saying,** There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel. **6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them: **…
Then read again what I posted. Solomon said:
3 Kings 8
25 Now therefore, O Lord God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father what thou hast spoken to him, saying: There shall not be taken away of thee a man in my sight, to sit on the throne of Israel: yet so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked in my sight.

It is David’s Covenant. Not Solomon’s. That is why the Kingdom of Heaven is often called the Kingdom of David. It is never called the Kingdom of Solomon:

Mark 11 10 Blessed be the kingdom of our father David that cometh: Hosanna in the highest.
Solomon was cut off. David wasn’t and still had the promise of Messiah to give to another son.
From his line. Not of his bowells.
Besides all that you have a big problem if you want to insist that the flesh of Jesus was created from Mary, but say Mary descended from David and Nathan in Luke 3:31, not Solomon. Either way, yours or mine, if that is your belief a[bout Mary’s lineage, Solomon is irrelevant.
No problem at all. Mary is of Davidic descendance. That is why she was betrothed to St. Joseph, a son of David.
Even if Jesus could be adopted by Joseph because Joseph had the curse of Jechonias and there could be no kings in that line anyway.
Ok.
But God foresaw that in the very beginning. Did you forget that He said, “The Seed of the Woman will crush your head.”
But then after accepting all that irregularity, you still have the same problem of God not fulfilling His promise of David never failing to have a son on the throne.
As I said, it was conditioned on David’s sons keeping the faith.
Then why does it say in Revelation that God and the Lamb are the Temple of New Jerusalem? The believers are in New Jerusalem, but they are not the Temple, God and Jesus are.
And we are the Body of Christ, the Body of Jesus.

For us, Catholics, the City of God is not a literal city. We will be united to God sharing His Divinty.

I know this is hard to understand given that the Quran gives Muslims human pleasures in heaven, such as yuris and alcoholic drinks. But that is not what Christ promises:

Matthew 22
30 For in the resurrection they shall neither marry nor be married; but shall be as the angels of God in heaven.

St. Paul puts it this way:
1 Corinthians 2
9 But, as it is written: That eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for them that love him.

1 John 3
2 Dearly beloved, we are now the sons of God; and it hath not yet appeared what we shall be. We know, that, when he shall appear, we shall be like to him: because we shall see him as he is.

2 Peter 1
4 By whom he hath given us most great and precious promises: that by these you may be made partakers of the divine nature: flying the corruption of that concupiscence which is in the world.

I’m Muslim but realize all religions are temporary shadows of what is to come.
All religions were temporary shadows. The real deal has been revealed:

Hebrews 8
5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things. As it was answered to Moses, when he was to finish the tabernacle: See (saith he) that thou make all things according to the pattern which was shewn thee on the mount. 6 But now he hath obtained a better ministry, by how much also he is a mediator of a better testament, which is established on better promises. 7 For if that former had been faultless, there should not indeed a place have been sought for a second. 8 For finding fault with them, he saith: Behold, the days shall come, saith the Lord: and I will perfect unto the house of Israel, and unto the house of Juda, a new testament: 9 Not according to the testament which I made to their fathers, on the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt: because they continued not in my testament: and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10 For this is the testament which I will make to the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: I will give my laws into their mind, and in their heart will I write them: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:
I worship God and look for Jesus,
I’m glad you look for Jesus. He shall save you.
I don’t make an idol of any religion. But a lot of people do.
The Catholic Religion is not God. She contains the knowledge God has revealed about Himself and how to worship Him.

What specifically is off about Christianity and Islam being the Iron Gentiles and Jews being the Clay? If the Kingdom of God is represented by the fig tree in the Bible and both Muslims and Christians say Jesus is Messiah…

Proverbs 27:17-18 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.

Why not if they can be resurrected in a valley of bones?
what about when we die, we’ll all be resurrected into aliens on a different planet? scriptures do not say so.

resurrection of the dead is scriptural…resurrection of the dead in different wombs at different times in different places is no Biblical. David did not believe so when he said his dead son will not come back.

Isn’t the womb the most place for rebirth, since it is the most natural place for birth?

What do you suppose this means if Mary was his real mother?

Hebrews 7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
