It has been proven that the mainstream media is a part of that repugnant media that you reference. Please tell me a non-racist, non-biased source of information.
Non biased would be difficult. Non racist would be simple. The Southern Poverty Law Center keeps track of groups advocating hate.

Racist sources of information are in the fringe- well I hope they are in the fringe anyway.

What story. If true then the suspects are making malignant and opportunistic use of a tragedy to fulfil their violent inclinations.
This below. You didn’t like the first source of info, so I offered this one. Still you go on about racist sources.
Do you like this source better?

"Cops: Man Beaten with Hammer, 2 Arrested

SANFORD, Fla. – Two men were arrested in Sanford on attempted murder charges after trying to kill another man with a hammer, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said on Monday."…

Though I have no way of knowing whether one is or isn’t racist I can know that certain websites are and when I see them posted on a Catholic forum I will denounce them with all vigor.

I have done the same before and I will continue to. I have a personal and professional interest in discrimination and oppression. It’s like my “soap box” if you will. Each poster has one or more issues especially dear to them so . . . . .

I believe that declining a grand jury was likely the best course of action, but I do hope that this prosecutor can move forward in a timely manner.

Yes. Everyone is prejudiced to one degree or another to some group or individual. Certainly, not everyone is racist.
I have tried to be fair, tried to see things from all sides, though I realize my own life experience limits me, and I’ll likely react to situations due to those life influences and experiences, just as others’ life experience limits them. Shooting the messenger seems like blinding oneself to possible truth. I try to consider the source, but also consider the story. I would like justice, whatever that ends up being. It sure would be nice to have the truth so we can figure out what that may be. But, I truly wonder if we will ever learn the truth at this point and if justice is possible now.

There is no need to take the bait, the far left has two basic tactics for denying stories they don’t want to have to answer. Play the race card, or claim the story is a lie AKA I don’t like your source. This game of denying sources is just that and it’s well documented on the internet.

I promised myself I would not comment on this case because last time I did it upset me terribly----(I lean towards the Martin side, to be clear upfront), but I think your comments warrants a response------

Let me ask you this-----

Does the fact that this case may REALLY be about vigilantism and the tendency of our society towards condoning or at least rationalizing it away justify the coverage shown it and also points to this also going beyond this being a mere"every occurrence?"

Or are you one of those whom I’ve unfortunately encountered here who SEEM to think that the state of our nation security and crime-wise justify condoning folks going “beyond the pale” in answering possible threats?

IOW, “at least we will not be afraid anymore?”:rolleyes:😊🤷
No. I prefer hearing the facts first. I don’t approve of violence or racism, but it seems to me that until all the facts are on the table, we shouldn’t be blaming either one of them. Right now, even a grand jury won’t hear this. I also lived in the south for awhile (Alabama) and I know things get blown out of proportion sometimes. All I’m saying is to be fair, instead of blaming Zimmerman or someone else for that matter, let the courts straighten this out.

Thanks. I’ve tried to be fair and understanding in this case, tried to view it from all sides. I do get frustrated with the implications I read sometimes. Sure, I suppose some sources are blatantly racist, but truly I haven’t sought them out just to showcase a biased, a racist viewpoint. I’m just trying to find the truth and am posting info as I find it.

Well, there are sources that I simply wont seek news from as I consider them too twisted to even capture the fundamentals of a given story. Most of what’s out there can give some piece of the puzzle. Still there are sources which are devoid of useful information. That is my opinion.

I hope justice is possible. There is far too much “noise” from all sides- the COCC, Stormfront, Al Sharpton, and the whacky New Black Panther Party included.

Apparently, another poster thinks that Brietbart falls into that category. I just don’t see that.

I agree. Maybe I just need to take a break from this thread for awhile. It just saddens me and worries me to think that Americans may end up being further divided because of this case, that more violence may result. On my part, maybe prayer for all concerned is the best route to take rather than continuing to read about it and discuss the case.

“Play the race card”? It’s a racist website. Um. . . . it’s not a question of Right or Left. It’s a straight up racist website! I have stated my reasons for decrying the source. The poster didn’t know it was a racist website. We have moved on. I’m going to speak up when a definitively racist website is cited on a Catholic forum.

Other sources were provided and I responded to the details of the story which are abhorrant.

Yes, it’s really terrible that many, many people seem to WANT to find an excuse to get violent. I believe that some of the powerless and the powerful make their livlihood off of violence.

It dishonors Martin and is a social crime in and of itself. Only God can move hearts away from hatred and I pray that this tragedy can be addressed with no more voilence and, even miraculously, lead to increased peace.

Unfortunately, I don’t see peace anytime soon. The extremists on both sides have come out of the woodwork trying to stir up things. The white supremacists have come out in full force to “protect” the whites in Sanford from race riots. I see things getting much worse before they get better.

I think this has gone way past a simple criminal case and opened the door to expose the hatred that has been seething under the surface for years in both groups.

I sure hope not. I hate that folks do this. It’s like the Middle East in micro-chasm.

It would be nice to send all of the racists to a little island so they could have their little race war and get it over with.

Actually the reports that white supremists were coming to patrol the neighborhoods was false.
