Now, we can await the two federal, two state, and one county investigation to find out if there was any criminal wrongdoing.

Sound fair?
If that’s what it take to arrive at a thorough investigation then yes, this is certainly fair. I would want no less for a member of my family if that is what was required.

At best Mr. Zimmerman will not be hunted down and murdered by a mob incited by hate filled preachers and a liberal media.
Mobs are scary aren’t they? My MIL often warns of the comming “race wars”.😃

A pdf copy of one of the first responders’ police reports was available on Drudge earlier but seems to have been taken down, and I’m having trouble finding it. The report makes mention that Zimmerman was cuffed and escorted to the police station for questioning, and his gun was impounded. No mention about the spent round still in the chamber, but it did mention Zimmerman had massive grass stains on his back and blood on his face and the back of his head, consistent with his story that he was attacked by Martin. Trying to find another copy of the report online now.
I am just curious. Something nobody is talking about. Besides, the gunshot to Trayvon, what about any bruises(or any?) on him from the fight? All we hear about is that Zimmerman had a busted nose and head and grass stains on his back. Also, Where his vehicle was compared to the final spot where Trayvon was shot at? My thoughts, if it was fairly close to the vehicle then maybe Trayvon was right at Zimmerman’s vehicle but if it was pretty far away then that does not jive well with what he said to police. Like other people have said, Zimmerman should have just stayed in the vehicle until police arrived.
Another thing, remember that we do not have all the facts. Also, everybody, it seems is wanting to believe Zimmerman for all or even half of the facts. I, personally IMHO, believe their cannot be a thorough investigation because we will never have Trayvon’s facts because he is dead. All we will have is only Zimmerman’s facts and believe him as far as I can throw him.

Peace

Can anyone explain to me why this case has become, with over 1,250 posts, the cause célèbre on this Forum, the very most important topic to nearly all the Catholics here? I don’t get the importance of it to Catholicism. Enlighten me 😦

What do you mean? This is the World News section, not the Catholic news section.

…and witnesses. Plus those who will establish the character of Zimmerman which goes a long way in the court system (at times), and is done routinely.

Okay. Why has it become the very most important world news story on a Catholic Forum? Nothing else in the world has occurred that might outweight this Enquirer topic? Is JonBenet Ramsey involved?

I think it is a good question. First, I think have a young man killed like this strikes a chord in many of us with children. Second, as much as we deny it, race is involved, both in the news and here, and this always draws a crowd. For me, and I by no means am one of the most active here, I have a professional interest in how this unfolds.

It is a “puzzlement” to me why this has become so very important. 🤷

The FBI and US Justice Department have opened Federal investigations.

Either have open investigations, or are doing so now. If there was criminal wrongdoing, it will be discovered, and prosecuted.

A story, yes, but why has it become the most important one? When a topic gets 1,250+ posts, it must be one of the most important to our Catholic posters. 🤷

I think because many are tired of racism being made the focal point without all the facts being clear.

And why is that so important here? Has racism not been the topic of other threads - threads that get well under a hundred posts attached to them?

I don’t get it, sorry.
