It’s funny because I was told that racism doesn’t exist on these forums yesterday…
I know! How dare he siggest those fine, upstanding ‘youths’ were engaging in voter suppression!? They were clearly protecting the African American polling station from the White Devil!

Sure, that’s what you were doing. You were just quoting them, right? That was a verbatim quote from one of them, right?

Racism is an intrinsic evil. If you are Catholic, you might want to learn a little more about your faith.

I may be wrong, but I think he was using sarcasm to point out the racism of the black panthers.

Would you post something like that? I know I wouldn’t. This isn’t a Mark Twain novel, where someone is demonstrating their deep knowledge of an African-American English dialect. This sure looked like an open mockery of African-Americans, and whatever the intent (and I agree, in the interests of charity, we should always assume the least worst explanation), it looked very bad.

I woulsnt, and didnt, because I don’t want snowflakes to come after me with their pitchforks demanding I retake cultural sensitivity training.

I was clearly positing the inherent inferiority of the African race by making fun of these two thugs who stood outside a polling place wearing Black Panther uniforms and swinging batons while they glared at people. Because those two yahoos are the proxy representatives of the entire black American population, so any lighthearted criticism of them is literally the same thing as Hitler.

Look, it’s the same old story of DeMarcus and Shan’dell over there being victims while they intimidate white voters during a Democrat primary because some guy on the internet made fun of the worst parts of their culture. Systemic racism, I tell ya! How are these fine young gentlemen supposed to succeed in a world where people like me are free to engage in poking fun at them?

You didn’t bat an eye at the literal act of implied violence with a clear racial motive, but get all frothed up because a loser on the internet said something off-color. Great priorities you’ve got there. I wonder why so many young white men are falling into actual white supremacy cults.

Yeah dude, it was actually Barack Obama. Straight up. I was at the bar yesterday and we were talking about it and he dropped that beauty on me. He’s a nice guy. Taller than you’d expect.

In all seriousness, that was basically the defense I’ve heard. That stupid panicky white folks were scared of the local dance troup. Now the people making that defense were obviously more educated than me, so they were actually pretty eloquent in their description of the event, but I decided to present my satire in the voice of the street walking man. The peeps, if you will.

Well, I’m glad to know that after you post a bunch of racist junk to a Catholic site that I’m the problem.

But, I’m glad to know that you are a racist. Thank you for coming clean.

I’m not a racist. I find racial humor funny.

But seriously, there still is no actual condemnation of the legitimate act of racism (ans voter suppression).

Ah huh. But seriously, what you did was racist and your defense is lame.

So this was just your attempt at verbal black face.
You know, this is probably not doing much to convince you to become Catholic because of the fine example we set, is it?
Not so bad as that. I know many a good Catholic. My mother in law was Catholic, never missed a Sunday, and I thought her the most Christian woman I’d ever known. So I suppose that such a good Catholic should walk the earth can make up for those I, er , admire much less.

Like I said, I think it’s clear that he is using sarcasm , or as he called it racial humor, to make a point.

He is bringing no harm to anyone with his words (other than melting some snowflakes).

I find it more concerning that some people are more outraged at his words than they are real examples of voter intimidation through the threat of physical violence.

It’s a racist comments. The harm should be obvious.

Let’s put this to a fine point. Is it Christian to use such a mocking type of faux-African American speech? Is this what Christ would have done?
