It appears that his tweet is based on a Breitbart article that he read. If that is true, its bizarre. Worse than bizarre. He is the president, why would he rely on breitbart for his info?

There are various media reports going back months saying that FISA requests were made.
 
Trump even admitted there was no “proof.” It was just another one of his rants. For those of you who voted for him, you’ve got what you deserve. Normal Americans don’t. We will obstruct everything he does. He’s a mental case. You trailer-trash who voted for him thinking he will get you better paying jobs will experience how he used you to win (even though he didn’t - most people voted for Hillary). You will now see what it’s like to live in a Hunger-Games society and culture where the mega-wealthy use workers as slaves. Well, at least, women won’t get abortions and gays can’t be married.
 
Just trying to clear up something for clarification. Did Fox News journalist James Rosen have his phone or his parents phone, wire tapped, per request of the Obama administration?

That’s what I don’t quite understand. Why would Trump shed light on any possible connection to embarrassing if not illegal activity on his or his associates’ parts?

There wasn’t a warrant against Trump. We are talking about FISA which is something totally different than an ordinary warrant. There were two applications submitted by the Obama Administration. One was denied. The other which reportedly didn’t mention Trump was approved, we have no ideas what was in that application since FISA applications are classified.

FISA is not allowed for criminal investigations. PERIOD. It requires that someone be an agent of a foreign power. It’s used as counter surveillance against hostile foreign countries.

Tapping phones would not require tapping Trump Tower phones, whatever that even is?

The WH chief counsel is apparently in the process of getting access to the FISA application approved in October, which reportedly didn’t even mention Trump.

Because there isn’t any there there! They tapped his phones and found nothing!!! That’s why Trump isn’t afraid but the ones who did the phone tapping should be.

If there had been anything suspicious or incriminating in the Trump camp, it would have been leaked out long ago, long before the election, the inauguration, the people’s victory. Now they are just trying to smear his cabinet with baseless accusation, hoping to discredit Trump any way they could. But oh boy, they’ve poked the lion too much now.

Of course the left will obstruct everything he does. That’s evident already.

The only mental cases I’m seeing are people protesting, beating up Trump supporters, having mental breakdowns because Trump is the President and needing counseling, agitators destroying and lighting property on fire, and Democratic crybabies harping on their conspiracy theories about the Russians and and how Trump is like some type of Russian spy with no evidence. All because Hillary didn’t win and the Democrats LOST. Time to take your ball and GO HOME.

Wrong. FISA has nothing to do with criminal investigations. In fact it’s illegal for FISA to be used for criminal investigations.

Then I misspoke when I included probable cause for a criminal investigation. If a warrant was issued the court believed there was enough evidence to warrant an investigation into members of the Trump campaign were working as foreign agents.
 
So much for the babies you all thought he would save. You voted for him, you got him. You deal with him. Was he worth all your effort to turn America into a traditionalist Catholic theocracy? Trump made no mention of any FISA warrants issued nor did he disclose anything in any FISA applications - that is what is classified.

Not necessarily. We have no idea what was in the FISA applications and who was wiretapped. Was Trump himself wiretapped? That’s what it appears to sound like.

NYT did report that an official stated a report was based on wiretapped conversations involving Trump campaign “advisors”, which showed no wrongdoings and which was provided to the WH. Still nothing to do directly with Trump himself. This could have been though the FISA approved in October, but this could have been obtained by other means as well, which seems more likely, they may have been able to get a magistrate judge to approve something similar.
