Whatever trump said about the Penn State coach, how was it hateful?
The Penn State thing was just him jabbering on and not having the maturity to think about what he’s saying first.

His hateful remarks that have been defended in the name of Anti-PC heroism have be mentioned over and over again on this and other threads.

Yes I will admit that I do judge people. I judge Trump in particular based on his own incredibly long and very public record of statements and behaviors.

This seems pretty mean IMO. The man has said that at one time he wasn’t very deep into the matter but has evolved and became very clearly for life. He is a good father and a grandfather - his love for his family is very visible. He has made his position clear more than enough times.
He’s made his position clear many times, and each time he holds a different position.

Maybe trump likes the coach in certain ways and merely expressed his opinion. You don’t have to agree with him. It’s when you pass rash judgment on trump in situations like this that others go, wait a minute, I kind of like trump!

Mr Trump is love with the sound of his own voice. He can’t seem to get enough of it. He doesn’t seem to have any inner filter that asks, “Should I say that?”

Some people respect that in him. I think the whole anti-PC thing is really just an excuse to day rude hateful things and then pat yourself on the back for being “honest”.
Hi Bells. The thing is, the media has painted him as “Teflon Don”, I.e. as someone who doesn’t lose any supporters, but that’s an oversimplification: he did lose supporters, it’s just that the stuff that lost him some supporters caused him to gain other supporters.

That’s true. Paterno was a great coach and that is more important than the fact that he failed to notify police about or do anything to stop his colleague who was involved in child sexual abuse (he was only arrested on 40 counts of child sexual abuse). There’s nothing wrong with Trump praising Paterno.

Last night at a rally in Pittsburgh, Donald Trump said this garbage: “…it’s [Pennsylvania] great. How’s Joe Paterno? We’re gonna bring that back? Right? …How 'bout that whole deal?”

Joe Paterno was the head football coach at Penn State, who covered up coach Jerry Sandusky’s sexual assault of ten boys. Sandusky was sentenced to 30-60 years in prison, and Paterno was forced out of his position and died two months later.

Trump, according to his campaign, was not talking about bringing back Joe Paterno but the statue of him which was removed after his disgrace. This makes what Trump said marginally less stupid, but doesn’t make it better, since the statue still honors a dude who abetted the systematic sexual abuse of children.
I doubt Trump even knows that, which should rule him out as president right there.

Poor organisation has been reported for Trump in Nebraska: politico.com/story/2016/04/donald-trump-nebraska-cruz-221863

And Trump only hired a political director for California this week: yahoo.com/news/unconventional-no-1-the-gops-veep-problem-183429119.html

Cruz’s political director for that state has been hired for months.
Trump has been working hard to win people’s votes and cruz has been working hard to overturn the people’s votes in order to win on second ballot. We’ll see who has a better battle plan.

I have very little knowledge about the coach and the scandal, but it did strike me as possibly similar to the accusation against church leadership in clerical sexual abuse scandals. Perhaps trump knows the coach personally. Who knows? I just think it’s too much to take this comment and judge him unfit for office or stupid.
