Hmmm, interesting. If a democrats wins, I’d probably prefer Sanders to Clinton. He’s much more authentic and trustworthy. If a Republican wins, I’d rather it be Trump.
Is that because you think he’d be the easiest for Clinton (if she is the nominee), to beat?If a Republican wins, I’d rather it be Trump.
Maybe. We’d both prefer an outsider who would shake up the status quo.Hmmm, interesting. If a democrats wins, I’d probably prefer Sanders to Clinton. He’s much more authentic and trustworthy.
Does that make us a team?
No, I think Cruz would be easiest to beat.Is that because you think he’d be the easiest for Clinton (if she is the nominee), to beat?
I wish you would just come right out and say that you want to help Trump damage the Republican Party as much as possible.I’m just afraid they’ll go with Kasich. I can’t stand Kasich. He is definitely a “Washington insider.”
But the new Fox News poll had in a matchup Clinton 45%, Cruz 44% and Trump does worse against her in a matchup against Clinton. No, I think Cruz would be easiest to beat.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump, the current Republican front-runner, hasn’t led Clinton in any national poll since mid February, and trails her by 10.6 points in the RCP average.

I really don’t want either party damaged, but I am sick of politicians who just vote themselves raises and don’t care about the disappearing middle class.I wish you would just come right out and say that you want to help Trump damage the Republican Party as much as possible.
He’s had at least four clear positions. If that is not enough for people, I am sure he would be glad to come out with a fifth and sixth. He’s made his position clear many times, and each time he holds a different position.
I’ll give him this: it’s a complex issue, and maybe he had a difficult time coming to his opinion. A lot of people do.He’s had at least four clear positions. If that is not enough for people, I am sure he would be glad to come out with a fifth and sixth.
You’re not a Cruz planted operative by any chance, are you?I’ll give him this: it’s a complex issue, and maybe he had a difficult time coming to his opinion. A lot of people do.
With Trump, a person knows what they get and where they stand. He doesn’t lie just to court votes. I appreciate his honesty and would take him over Cruz or Kasich any day. They are “Washington insiders” who will say anything the public wants to hear.
Even if he is not the nominee, and I think he should be, Trump has provided something very valuable this election cycle: he’s shown Washington how sick Americans are of “politics as usual.” For that, I am beholden to him and to Bernie Sanders no matter who wins the nominations and the general election.
Trump didn’t know anything about skating rinks either, but he spoke to people who did and was able to sort out what the previous team had done wrong, and then deliver a complete solution on time. When it comes to politics, I couldn’t accurately predict that any particular candidate will put his shoes on before leaving the house.
But I will say I watched the Repub dinner thing last night. Missed most of Kasich and Cruz because I had a visitor. But whoever prepared Trump did an incredibly good job in my opinion. Some people would see it as “bragging”. But that’s what all of the candidates do; point out their past accomplishments.
However, he told some stories out of his business life that were almost like “parables”. It was actually quite interesting to learn what he did with that old Commodore hotel, turning it into the very building where the dinner was being held, and changing the whole neighborhood as a result. Never would I have guessed you could rehab an old building by taking it “down to the steel” while still preserving some beautiful ceilings inside it. The details of the skating rink construction were interesting as well. I had no idea before that story how skating rinks are constructed.
And it all came down to 1) New York is a fabulous place with better people than Cruz thinks, 2) I got some major and really neat things done, against political opposition and stupid rules, before predicted completion time and under budget, (and, under that, “I could do it with the whole country”)
I thought it was really done well. Whoever wrote that deserves a bonus.
As I said, I only saw a little bit of my guy, Kasich. He said the things he needed to say, but it didn’t have that “storytelling/parable” quality. I saw even less of Cruz, but it seemed to be “reheated Cruz”, not very interesting.
That’s not what most of the polls show. What don’t you like about Kasich other than he is a Republican? No, I think Cruz would be easiest to beat.
You are aware aren’t you that Nancy Pelosi as Speaker gave herself and all of Congree a pay raise every year. This while the little people the Dems so much care about continued to struggle BTY she is one of the wealthiest politiciansI really don’t want either party damaged, but I am sick of politicians who just vote themselves raises and don’t care about the disappearing middle class.
Even if neither Trump nor Sanders wins the nomination, each will have shown Washington they can’t continue with “business as usual.” That’s what I’m sick of, and Cruz and Kasich represent that, so I’d prefer Trump. I actually think I’d like him if I knew him.
I’m not afraid of his outrageousness or impulsiveness. He’d have a team of advisers, and he’s a quick learner.
It isn’t that he’s a Republican. I’ve voted for Republicans before. That’s not what most of the polls show. What don’t you like about Kasich other than he is a Republican?
A lot of that wealth comes from her husband, Paul Pelosi. You are aware aren’t you that Nancy Pelosi as Speaker gave herself and all of Congree a pay raise every year. This while the little people the Dems so much care about continued to struggle BTY she is one of the wealthiest politicians![]()
I find Trump’s waffling frightening – and I say that as someone who often appreciates when politicians’ views evolve as a sign of growth and education on various issues. My worry with Trump, however, is that he may be selectively shifting his positions based on the audiences he wants to court. I don’t believe he’s legitimately pro-life (not in terms of abortion and not in terms all the other life-related issues that aren’t often enough identified with being pro-life). And I don’t understand why people think he’s anti-establishment – in many respects, he’s the epitome of establishment.I’ll give him this: it’s a complex issue, and maybe he had a difficult time coming to his opinion. A lot of people do.

And the evidence for this is what? That he was a central figure in getting a balanced budget when he was in Congress?Kasich is a “Washington insider” who will say anything the people want, promise them anything, make any backroom deal…
At least he will keep America safe!It isn’t that he’s a Republican. I’ve voted for Republicans before.
I don’t put a lot of stock in polls. Trump has most of the votes on the Republican side and Cruz’s popularity is plummeting right now. It’s Trump who has a clear lead in New York, and he’ll probably win Pennsylvania as well. Trump has, by far, the most votes among the Republicans, so despite the polls, I think Cruz would be the easiest for the Democrats to beat.
Kasich is a “Washington insider” who will say anything the people want, promise them anything, make any backroom deal. He’s a politician through and through. Like a lot of Trump supporters, I’m sick of “politics as usual.” I’m sick of politicians who vote themselves big raises in pay, while ignoring the needs of the middle class, which is becoming the struggling class. People are sick of the elaborate rules that could deny Trump the nomination even though he’s the clear favorite among the GOP. The parties are supposed to work for us, not for themselves.
Does Trump act presidential? Not quite. But to me that’s one of his strengths. I disagree with him about building a wall between the US and Mexico, but one is never going to find the “perfect” candidate.
