Interesting that with Trump the money flows the other way - he donates money to PP. What does that say about him?
True! So one could say, in a small way, Trump is supporting Hillary Clinton! Priceless! šŸ˜›

This is the magic: Jeanne S and Giuliani BOTH support Trump.

:yeah_me:
It’s not magic; they just can’t stand Democrats. And even the GOP hates Cruz.

Trump doesn’t have the Bill Clinton/Obama charisma. People have just flocked to him because he said what they were thinking. Now, if he moves to the center and ā€œbusiness as usual,ā€ he’s going to lose his base - the people who want him to shake things up.

Another interesting Trump factoid. Trump is well known for openly answering questions many politicians dodge. But the one question he consistently refuses to answer? Whether he has paid for any abortions. Why do you think he refuses to answer that particular question?

His followers just say it was pre-conversion. Reverend Wright stuff. Back in the day…

Keep diggin. 😃

Not difficult to figure out. And why won’t he release his tax return? He keeps giving the excuse that it’s being audited, but the IRS said he could release it anyway. Yet he does not. The only conclusion I can come to is that there is something in it he definitely does not want the electorate to see.

He definitely does not want the American public to see that tax return! There aren’t too many reasons why not.

Excuse me? You assume much.My reply was in reference to HC and her support of abortion.DT supports them as well so how does that mean I support DT?
Sorry Jeanne! After I wrote that I realized that. I am so sorry. Did NOT mean to call you out at all as a Trump supporter. I don’t know who you support.

(but I did honestly think it was Trump based on your previous posts)

I think the doctors making millions from abortions are more abortion minded than Hillary Clinton. And the nurses and others who work with them. Hillary is pro-choice, but she’s not making any money off that stance.
Of course she is Planned parenthood has given her millions over the years

Trump would absolutely be my last choice.Ascawful as he is in many ways ,he is still a better option than Hillary Clinton. That is a sad reality.

Then isn’t Hillary Clinton your absolutely last choice? Sorry if I misread.

My absolutely last choice would be Cruz.

I think it could. He still could pull out the nomination before the convention, although I admit, that would be very difficult. For the Republicans to deny him the nomination when he’d be only 50 delegates shy, would be a travesty that would greatly injure the Republican Party. And I’m no Trump supporter, but a lot of people are.
Ah, I see what you did there. From ā€œTrump really, really wants to be presidentā€ to getting-the-GOP-nomination could happen.

What is HC in your opinion? Just asking…
I view her as an unpersonable, Wall Street-friendly, pro-choice establishment figure with a thirst for power and a tendency towards the corrupt. That said, she’s definitely qualified for the job in terms of resume. I just don’t like her public persona. I don’t know what she’s like in private but in public she lacks people friendliness and sincerity.

I don’t think anyone is truly enthusiastic about Hillary’s presidential bid. She doesn’t have Obama’s charisma and popular touch. Folks know what she is and represents, even if Sanders has pulled her rhetoric to the left. That makes her less of a ā€œthreatā€ than Mr Trump, in my book. We know her views, her base, her donors…

She’s establishment and same old same old. We know who she’s beholden too as well, the interest groups that fund her.

Trump though - I don’t know what I’m dealing with. He’s all things to anybody he chooses to sell himself too, which is to say it’s hard to read what he actually will do at any given moment. That unknown quantity is seriously worrying to a lot of people. I wouldn’t want to step on a loose cable for fear I might be electrocuted. Trump gives me the same feeling and he’s running for POTUS.

Trump is like many businessmen. He’s all process. He doesn’t have an ideology. People like him are problem solvers. Their joy is in fixing things; in making them work, in turning something around from a loser to a winner. That’s what really motivates them. It’s not power and it’s not money. It’s the joy of making things work, of turning a bunch of junk into something of beauty and utility.
Since Americans (and many others) have become so accustomed to the idea that we absolutely must devote ourselves to political ideology, we are as baffled as a calf at a new gate when we see a purely functionary person dare to run for political office.
But where has ideology gotten us lately? ā€œFundamentally changing Americaā€, ā€œArab Springā€, ā€œcultural diversityā€ even ā€œcompassionate conservatismā€. Not worth a plugged nickel in any real way. Hillary is now trying out a re-warmed version of ā€œNew Dealā€ with her ā€œNew Bargainā€. A bargain of what sort? To keep paying and borrowing and to put up with corruption without daring to say anything? Some bargain that is.
Maybe we would all find it refreshing to elect a president who actually had the ability and the motivation to make things work better without feeling compelled to adopt some crack-brained ideology to justify doing it.
I concur with your adroit assessment that Trump is a man of ā€œprocessā€ rather than ā€œideologyā€ (although I do feel he is power-hungry as well, just in different way from Mrs. Clinton…He thrives on being top dog. Can’t top being POTUS unless your trying to compete with God). Certainly, that can be beneficial under some circumstances. It can be interpreted as a down-to-earth, objective/non-partisan pragmatism but let’s not forget: it can also be seen as Machiavellian, without scruples, bereft of any concrete guiding principles. You’ve opted for the first appraisal of Trump (I feel), whereas I have opted for the second.

I see his (sometimes frankly insane) promises as empty words exploiting the naivete of some vulnerable, powerless people who think they’ve found a voice for their concerns in the corridors of power…when, in fact, they’ve been sold a tailor-made product by an ebullient sycophant who only truly cares about himself and will dump their concerns when they are no longer useful to his designs.

I feel that he has thrived off of and fed social tensions - as well as some raw emotions (as FollowChrist noted) including anger, despair, xeniphobia and distrust of the ruling class. To me that speaks Machievellian - not principled, trustworthy pragmatist.

OMG, whoops (I thought you liked him). I agree with you on Trump being the awful, absolutely last choice that is. I am almost on board myself. But simply because we have hit the end of the road, and it is a wall (no pun intended). No other workable option.

I actually like Cruz too - but he cannot win, no way, that is a dead end. We have to ask ourselves do we want Hillary or Trump, guys.
