There’s a new poll out today about Trump:
Add least-popular presidential candidate in modern times to Donald Trump’s resume, should he be the Republican nominee.
According to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll, Trump’s overall unfavorable rating sits at 67 percent — making him the most disliked major-party nominee in 32 years of polling.
Just 30 percent view him favorably.
Furthermore, roughly 75 percent of women, 66 percent of independents, 80 percent of young adults and 85 percent of Hispanics view him unfavorably.
Nearly half of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents also view him unfavorably.

Poll: GOP voters skeptical Trump can unify party
Less than 4-in-10 registered Republican voters say Donald Trump will be able to solidly unify their party in the general election, according to the results of a Pew Research Center study released Thursday that also largely showed a country divided over prevailing issues and values.
Just 38 percent of Republican respondents said Trump would be able to get the party to “unite solidly” behind him if he becomes the GOP nominee. At the same point in the 2012 cycle, 65 percent said Mitt Romney would be able to bring together a coalition, and 64 percent said the same of John McCain in 2008. Both men, of course, lost to Barack Obama in the general elections in those years.

I don’t want to rehash what I told someone else, but I believe this ^^ further confirms that “Teflon Don” is a media myth.

But the treatment of women in 1922 and today is far different.
Oh I agree Jim. I’m in no way suggesting that we turn back the clock to 1922 (or even to 1972); but I believe that “There is no documented case since 1922 in which a woman was even charged in an abortion in the United States.” illustrates how ridiculous Trump’s assertion was.

Trump’s Threat on Pledge Could Cost Him South Carolina Delegates

Wow.

From the above article.
Breaking South Carolina’s presidential primary ballot pledge raises some unanswered legal questions that no one person can answer,” he told TIME. “However, a court or national convention Committee on Contests could resolve them. It could put delegates in jeopardy.”
When Trump filed for the ballot in South Carolina he signed a pledge stating to “hereby affirm that I generally believe in and intend to support the nominees and platform of the Republican Party in the November 8, 2016 general election.”

But today if a law were to be written banning abortion, you can bet there would be a penalty for the woman who obtained the abortion. Lets face it, she sought out the abortionists, he/she did come to her.

I just listened to a segment on the radio on how in El Salvador where all abortions are illegal and the penalty is against both the abortionist and the woman.

In fact, its so strict, that if a woman shows up at the hospital after experiencing a miscarriage, she has to prove the miscarriage was not the result of her trying to abort her fetus. If found guilty, she could spend up to 40 years in jail.

“…I generally believe in and intend to support…”

Sounds almost Clintonesque, doesn’t it?

Wow.

The point is moot, because if he’s not the nominee as a result of winning the delegates necessary, he’ll quit the GOP and run as an independent anyway. The GOP nominee can have all the SC delegates for all he’ll care.

That’s actually a good argument for keeping it legal. What a horrible thing to put a woman through. I’ll never forget the sound of my friends voice when she thought she had a miscarriage. It would be devastating to deal with that after the death of your child.

This not El Salvador.

There is no possibility whatever that if abortion was made illegal in the U.S. the woman would be prosecuted. None at all.

If it didn’t happen back when people actually respected the life of the unborn, and found abortion abhorrent, it sure wouldn’t now.

I’m not trying to stop Trump from running as a third Party candidate. That’s completely his choice.

No one is suggesting that here. We dont normally decide the impact of our laws by lookg at the laws of third world countries. There have been no proposals in almost 100 years to punish women who have had an abortion n this country

You took the words out of my mouth. When I posted “I’m in no way suggesting that we turn back the clock to 1922 (or even to 1972)” I didn’t think I needed to add “or turn this country into El Salvador”. :hmmm:

This will now be a Democratic talking point throughout the general election campaign.

Its not El Salvador, but I was giving an example of what people fear, if abortion were to be made illegal.

Fact is, in today’s world, there is no chance that abortion in the USA, Canada or Europe, before 20 weeks would be made illegal.
