I doubt many of Trump’s supporters support him because they believe he is strongly pro-life. They should just admit that they are taking that issue of the table this cycle, because that is what is happening.

The truth hurts, TMC is correct. The republicans, especially the presidential candidates, say what the religious right want to hear and then you don’t hear much about until the next election. I do think at the state level, more has been done, and I have hopes Cruz or Rubio would do more for the pro-life cause. I never had much hope that Bush, McCain, or Romney would, neither do I have much hope Trump would.

But I think the amount of time we (myself included) have spent discussing that one statement (made by someone I really don’t even know – as are most statements on the Catholic Answers Forum) is getting a little silly at this point.

I’m tired of the prooftexting. Trump wants to put ‘citizens’ first, not illegal immigrants. That is not racist nor bigoted. People seem to have forgotten that the US Govt is primarily responsible to care for US Citizens. We are not the World Govt.
Blacks and legal Hispanics will benefit most if we reduce the number of illegal immigrants. Jobs will materialize and wages will rise. This is why Trump has support within the black community.
We can put our citizens (family) first and still be a good neighbor.

100s of abortion clinics have been shut down at the State level, that is hardly ignoring those issues.
But this may well be conveniently overlooked if one is making a case and might have even a record of voting for politicians backing the atrocities of abortion, something I will never do.

Which of those clinics was closed by Mr. Trump? And which clinics were funded by Mr. Trump’s donations? Answer those two questions and we will be closer to understanding Trump’s position.

The toughest, angriest candidates with the highest negatives are winning the primaries (weakest to run in the general). We are killing our strongest people and our prospects to win. Look at Rubio and Kasich.

Umm, why is it ok to take this guy’s word on Trump’s character from 50 years ago, but Trump’s appearances on Howard Stern, his bankruptcies, his pro-choice stance, his support of Democrat candidates, his marital infidelities etc, are not fair game because he’s conservative now?
I see, he was a great teen, rebelled against himself for 40 + years and now when running for president, he’s back to his old self again.
