It may get you votes in Michigan or Wisconsin but may not in the Senate.

That thumbs-down photo of McCain would be on the cover of all US History textbooks going forward if I had it my way.

It seems to me that the Republicans care more about dismantling Obama’s legacy than helping do anything constructive about healthcare.

They don’t agree about what to do about health care, and don’t necessarily even agree with their constituents, in all good faith.

The problem of providing health care in the United States in a way that is sustainable and perceived as fair is a very hard problem, which is not an easy sell under the best of circumstances. In our circumstances, what’s worse, the problem also joins the lucrative, the unpredictable, and the intensely personal all in one big complicated mess that includes financial markets (insurance), higher education (both in research and in educating physicians and other health care professionals), the sciences, moral philosophy, employment benefits and…well, the list goes on and on.

The whole problem is a Gordian knot wired to explode, one that has to be dealt with on a moving train…

We really need a good faith effort to work together, and so much is conspiring to keep that from happening.

And let’s keep in mind that this is something Trump supporters oft repeat: “I like him because he says what he means”.

So there can be no back pedaling for any of Trump’s statements saying, “He obviously didn’t mean that.”

Agitating politicians to keep their promises is a very public affair, that’s politics. But I doubt few actually feel humiliation. For any that do, there is hope for them if they feel humiliated from breaking their promises.

We are not talking about leaving the toilet seat up, we are battling the influence of entrenched lobbyists, and their deep pockets.

Please address the point of my post.

You stated that someone can’t be publicly humiliated unless he’s done something humiliating.

I gave an example that refuted this. Jesus’ very public humiliation.

So what is your answer to the example? Do you believe Jesus did something humiliating?

Or it may not. Just 6 mos in he is holding IA, OH, WV. But is at least 7 pts underwater in AZ, GA, TX. And at least 9 pts underwater in MI, PA, WI. The 2020 map may look quite a bit different.

The Republicans seem to be the only ones doing anything constructive - at least
they are trying.

That was decades ago, 7 Sorrows. If it was going to make the history book pictures, probably would have by now. You sure seen to have an obsession with the Clintons though even though there is not a Clinton in the WH.
