Key words. Your experience.
Scripture is inspired by God so…So if you say that one must not trust to a man, then since Bible has been written by men, you must not trust to Bible too!
Will you next expound on “Call no man your father?”God Himself said it through His prophet Jeremiah. “Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the LORD.”
I already asked him that. Apparently that interpretation is ridiculous and he never explained why that’s ridiculous but not trusting anyone is not ridiculous.Or “If your hand causes you to sin cut it off?”
Except that its interpretation is also to be guided by the Holy Spirit, which is why the Church’s interpretation is the authoritative one.Mboo:![]()

Yep. There are a hundred other references to people calling holy men or elders “father.”Agathon:![]()

You mean eisegesis. This is God speaking in plain language. It requires no eigisis.
But there aren’t a hundred other references to NOT cutting off your hand if it causes you to sin.HarryStotle:![]()

So if we find a few references to trusting other people, at least some of the time in Scripture, you will rethink your position? Are you gonna expound on “Cursed is the man who puts his trust in man”
Trust is confidence with evidence. God is all knowing so by that definition He can’t trust. Most importantly, however, is the fact that God entrusted himself to the care of human beings, specifically Mary and Joseph, as a completely vulnerable infant
Okay. I suspect it means something like only God can be implicitly trustworthy since only he deserves our trust without question. Are you gonna expound on “Cursed is the man who puts his trust in man”
Either you mean “Trust is confidence withOUT evidence,” or your conclusion doesn’t follow. Since God is all-knowing, he would have every means of knowing by a plethora of evidence who he could or could not trust. So by your definition, God could trust with certainty since his confidence would be warranted by his omniscience regarding evidence.HarryStotle:![]()

It’s the definition of it in Paul’s epistle to the Hebrews. “Faith is the realization of things hoped for and evidence of things we do not see.” God sees all, therefore He cannot have faith.I think of your definition of trust about as much as I think of the atheist’s definition of faith as “belief without evidence.”
