I will act like she said anti-semitic things as soon as you quote the anti-semitic things. Moreover, stop acting like there isn’t a legitimate reason to critique her stance and/or commentaries vis a vis Israel.
PS: Ilhan Omar apologized because her Jewish friends told her that tropes about Jews and money and power are why her statements were understood as they were. She was being LOVING and sensitive to their take, despite the fact her comments never actually attacked Jews. In her apology, she behaved more like a Christian than the right-wing pundits and their supporters who lied about her and keep doing so despite not finding the anti-semitism they claim based on nothing but their imagination and bias that she has.
“Anti-Semitism is real and I am grateful for Jewish allies and colleagues who are educating me on the painful history of anti-Semitic tropes,” Omar said. “My intention is never to offend my constituents or Jewish Americans as a whole. We have to always be willing to step back and think through criticism, just as I expect people to hear me when others attack me for my identity. This is why I unequivocally apologize.”
She continued, “At the same time, I reaffirm the problematic role of lobbyists in our politics, whether it be AIPAC, the NRA or the fossil fuel industry. It’s gone on too long and we must be willing to address it.”
And did you SERIOUSLY link an opinion piece where someone said, “I’m Somali and in Somalia we were very anti-semitic” as reasons why it’s ok to claim without proof that someone is anti-semitic? I refer you once more to your prolonged attempts to protect Stefan Molyneux from a label of “racism.”
