Well because he said conservatives would know better than to be racist, but his chief-conservative-writer was found to be making extremely racist statements. So he’s wrong.
He fired him (or accepted his resignation). Why? Because racism is philosophically opposed the basic tenants of constitutional conservatism: all are created equal, have inalienable rights that are antecedent to government, and government’s primary function is to protect individual rights. Racism is diametrically opposed to these foundational principles.

I doubt if they would get such high numbers after the murder of George Floyd.
And yet there is still no evidence that Chuavin acted out of racism. All we do know is that he abused his power as a government agent and denied George Floyd numerous individual rights most notably the right to Life.

We don’t have to prove Chuavin acted out of racism to recognize racism as a statistical fact. This sort of thing, as well as traffic stops and all sorts of discretionary treatment, happens much more to blacks than to whites.

Maybe, but unless you have evidence of racism, you can’t use this killing as an example of racism, obviously.
This sort of thing, as well as traffic stops and all sorts of discretionary treatment, happens much more to blacks than to whites.
Again, one has to have evidence of racist intent.
“Adjusted for the homicide rate, whites are 1.7 times more likely than blacks die at the hands of police,” Moskos said. “Adjusted for the racial disparity at which police are feloniously killed, whites are 1.3 times more likely than blacks to die at the hands of police.”

Regardless of who it happens to, abuse of power by government agents is heinous, and reflects a dismissive view of individual rights.
Racism can clearly play a part in this, but acting on it requires that same dismissal of the primacy of individual rights.

Again, one has to have evidence of racist intent.
I wonder, what kind of evidence are you looking for? Walking around, and chanting: “Jews will not replace us!”? And then not rejecting this kind of behavior in the strongest possible terms?

What has he said that expresses racism. Racists almost never keep it a secret. What other incidents has he been involved in that point to racist intent?

The behavior of Chauvin should be rejected in the strongest possible terms whether his intent was racist or not. He denied a fellow American of his basic human and civil rights. There is nothing worse an agent of government can do, regardless of his motivation.

Again, one has to have evidence of racist intent.
Not true. Racism can reasonably be found to exist on the basis of statistics alone.

An irrelevant statistic that does not refute the statistic evidence for racism. What is the basis for “adjusting for homicide rate”? That reminds me of the play-by-play announcer and his color commentator who comes up with odd statistics during a lull in the action. Interesting, but irrelevant.

Racism is an individual philosophy, but if you wish, please point to the statistics that show Chauvin has a history of racism.

You’re the one that brought up statistics. The fact is American blacks have more frequent interactions with law enforcement. That is inevitably going to lead to an increase in incidents.

Blacks are stopped by police much more often, so yes, they do have more interactions with police. That is evidence of racism.

American blacks are involved in a higher rate of crime per capita. That’s not racism. That’s statistics.

No, that is racism too. When you shove a large group of people into cramped living conditions without good schools or access to good jobs or even clean water, you get more crime. White people would do the same thing if subjected to the same conditions.

That wasn’t the case in Great Depression large cities.
But to the extent what you say is true, it indicts the party in power in these cities for decades.
White people would do the same thing if subjected to the same conditions.
Maybe, but my parent’s generation in the inner city of an major east coast city during the Great Depression conflicts with your premise.
Further, other racial and ethnic groups in these inner cities fo not seem to have as big a problem.
To be sure, it has nothing to do with race. Melanin doesn’t impact people’s behavior. Maybe the general government shouldn’t have passed social programs that destroyed the nuclear family.

We know, the Sanger award is revered by Democrats and that Margaret Sanger is said to be a racist and white supremacist.
I think that Sanger’s place in US history is being subjected to revision, if you checked – as is the history of the Sierra Club. One way or the other, she was not a major commentator on racial issues. Conservatives latch onto her like what she said or thought is some major point – it is not.

I don’t think that Carlson makes a case for racism by Democrats, from the reviews of what he says. His position also sounds very defensive to me. This whole contest of ‘Who’s the most racist’ seems pointless to me. Where does it get us? If someone pointed out an act which was prejudicial as to minorities and suggested its change – that would be positive.

I decline to listen to 5" of Carlson to add to his numbers. He’s not worth it.

Now you are just making stuff up. Crime was indeed rampant during the Great Depression.

You can’t refute a statistic with an anecdote. That would be like: “Smoking is not really dangerous. My uncle Mortimer smoked like a chimney all his life and never got sick and died at 95 when he got drunk and tried to see how far he could reach into a wood chipper.”

There was pockets of organized crime, but before air conditioning, people would sleep on their front porches, sit outside in the eveningS. Thomas Sowell goes into great detail about this. And while it is anecdotal, that was the recollections of my patents’ generation to mine.
You can’t refute a statistic with an anecdote.
And you can’t turn person philosophy into statistics without evidence.

I live in a small suburb outside the city of St. Louis. Traffic laws are very strictly enforced and there are signs to that effect all over. I have gotten a ticket for not making a complete (count 3 seconds) stop at a stop sign. The other day, I was walking the neighborhood and a car nearly ran me over as I was crossing the street. No stop. It had expired license plates. He made a U-turn and asked me some directions. I gave him them with the admonishment that traffic laws in our town are strictly enforced. Had he gotten a ticket, he would have cried racism. But it really isn’t because everybody gets tickets for disobeying traffic laws.
