Two women accused Herman Cain of inappropriate behavior

To be fair Ann Coulter is a blogger. Do I need to remind you how many Democrat Senators, Congressmen or Vice-Presidents have trotted out the race card over the last several years?
Don’t forget at least one President.

Quite often I’ve seen here numerous posters who one would consider liberal slyly accuse those who do not support Obama as racist. Numerous times. They have cute little expressions to make such accusations without using the word itself. Things like ‘if it walks like a duck…’

It’s obvious. Anyone that denies it is a hypocrite.
I don’t see anyone denying it. There are frequently hints of racism in the way the Obamas are criticized for doing things that all first families/presidents have always done (like the pic which was circulated showing POTUS with foot on the Oval Office desk - with a caption referring to his ‘lack of respect’). I make no apologies for this observation and have several times objected to this sort of commentary being referred to as ‘playing the race card’.

What I take issue with is that these same people who call every mention of obvious racial prejudice ‘playing the race card’, are now playing it themselves brazenly (and in this particular story, with zero justification - this is a story of a real incident: nothing made up, no innuendo, no mining yearbook photos or questioning birth documents) and criticizing those who call them out on it. I have no problem with calling a spade a spade, just don’t tell me not to do it and then go out and buy the whole hardware store’s supply!

The part that drives Herman Cain detractors crazy:
Speaking after a manufacturing forum in Pella Tuesday — during which Cain’s name was not mentioned — Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad said he didn’t expect the harassment story to impact Cain here.
“Iowans are pretty fair-minded people,” said Branstad, after a forum that featured five presidential candidates. “Just because somebody makes an accusation — anybody that’s in a high-profile position has the potential to have people make these kinds of accusations, and I think Iowans will, you know, carefully look at the real situation and not jump to any conclusions.”
On the leading conservative talk radio program in Des Moines, the story barely merited a mention Tuesday.
Cain’s campaign manager Mark Block said Tuesday that Cain has raised $400,000 since the story broke.
Clovis said Iowa voters are, for now, taking Cain at his word that nothing inappropriate took place.
“People are pretty satisfied with what they’ve heard,” Clovis said. “If he said he didn’t do it, and it appears that his explanation is that he recused himself and the general counsel and the human resources director came in and investigated and they cleared him, and that’s the end of it. I’ve been down this road myself. When he said that, I said, ‘**** yeah, that’s exactly what you do.’”
Mean while heads in Washington explode over the fact that the Midwest won’t go racist…

No one owns the race card.

In Coulter’s case, this is more than about the ‘race card’. Someone needs to tell her that Lincoln is long dead and the war long won. Doesn’t sound like she got the memo.

You are absolutely correct. Funny how conservatives seem to be coming round to the liberal viewpoint…😉

P.S. On second thoughts, we should have copyrighted the darn thing!

It appears you are wearing your Captain Obvious badge today.

Well the suggestion that Coulter’s blogger status might excuse the inexcusable or that her statements equate to anything recently said by a politician of either stripe, was a bit much for me to let slide.

So address it.

Thought I just did.

Since the alternative (addressing it in person), is not available to me, this will have to do.

‘Enormous’ is such a relative term and ‘embarrassment’, well let’s just say the Church has had its share of those. I seem to recall some "embarrassments’ who matured to sainthood. So don’t knock the concept of human imperfection - it can take you pretty far.
Well, from what I have seen and heard from him over the last couple of years, the path to sainthood for this priest goes through the mines of Moria. I don’t knock imperfection, I am allowed to judge the fruit of the tree, and all I have seen from Father Phlager is thistles.

I never suggested it was inexcusable. I was suggesting that elected officials should be better than her. We now know that is not the case.🤷

I beg to disagree. I know of no elected public official at any level of government who speaks in terms of “our blacks” and “their blacks” anymore - not even those with non-politically-correct-named ranches.

You might be totally correct and all…but unless I’m missing something, he still is not related to the topic of discussion.

Ignorance is bliss.

I was referring to the ‘race card’.

I don’t care about the words used. The race card is the race card.

I don’t play cards, sorry. I was referring to Coulter’s actual words - the utterances issued from her mouth yesterday (unless it was some sort of camera trick).
