Notice how your whole opinion piece didn’t cite any details of her description of the alleged abuse, but every word is just an opinion, whereas those doubting her story can point to an exact spot of her story and say, hey, that’s quite improbable. She would’ve been on the national stage at any point because Trump is a national celebrity.
As for why now? I have no idea. But–Trump says bad things. He said bad things about himself. Millions of voters are willing to accept him despite the bad things he says he did. He stands a reasonable chance of being elected president.
Maybe she finally overcame her fear of reprisals and ridicule because there’s too much of a risk in remaining quiet any longer. And she’s getting exactly what she probably feared: ridicule, derision, vilification, and opprobrium.
If anything, she’s given women across America a shining example of what they should do if a powerful man (allegedly) sexually molests them: stay quiet and pretend it didn’t happen.
