The abortion rate it record high in the UK. Having four prominent members of the royal family take on population control as a cause certainly has an influence.

Having four prominent members of the royal family take on population control as a cause certainly has an influence.

It certainly does not. It’s going up because the vast majority of the country is socially liberal. Even if the royals were constantly saying pro-life messages daily, the public would just ignore them.
Prince William said something that was construed as pro-EU but guess what, the country is still 50-50 on the matter. If they did have real influence, surely the biggest political issue, Brexit, would have been cancelled after those sentences from him. But it’s still raging and the country is still divided.

This idea that what the royals say has little value, then maybe be quiet.

Freedom of speech. Not that that should always be exercised but they choose to do so.
