Is this an official Vatican pronouncement or is it just a theologian’s opinion? Remember Balducci-the Vatican distanced themselves from him,.

Here is what Pius II said:

in the Bull Exsecrabilis, includes this statement negating life on other planets: The proposition is condemned that: “That God created another world than this one, and that in its time many other men and women existed and that consequently Adam was not the first man.” Pius II, 1458-1464: Appeal to the General Council, From the Bull, Exsecrabilis, January 18; (Denz. 717c).

The idea of alien life on the same level as mankind being out there is incompatabile with our faith. Sin and death came into the world through Adam and the universe as a whole is subjected to the curse because of the sin of our first parents through whom all mankind descends from. Why should some other civilization far away elsewhere suffer for something Adam did? Further this only overcomplicates and makes a further mess of Christ’s sacrifice and our understanding of it. Are we more special or more fallen that necessitated that Christ had to come to our planet or would Christ have to be reborn and make another trip there? It’s just stupid… God has made us unique on our own planet in our own galaxy at the center of the universe. I’d trust what God Himself says He did over the speculative fantasies of men, Catholic or otherwise…

This sounds like more speculation that comes from macro-evolutionists who believe we are nothing special and that life can ‘evolve’ from nothing elsewhere as well and now some amongst us are trying to cram those incompatabile ideas into our faith and compromise it.

I too used to be fascinated with the idea of alien life and science fiction, but our faith declares that we are made special and central in God’s creation. I’m open to the possibility that there might be simple life forms out there, but the reality and our faith suggests that we are alone. The missions on Mars for the sole purpose of looking for life are a waste of time and only exist because secular scientists have some religious faith that doing so will fill in the holes and mysteries of macro evolution as if it ever happened at all. Seems like they’re just trying to convince themselves… They ought to just study the planet and find out what possibilities it holds for colonizing or even for supplying raw materials which could lead to some very adventurous possibilities in the future.

God has made us unique on our own planet in our own galaxy at the center of the universe. .
Don’t all Catholic colleges and universities and high schools teach that the earth is not at the center of the universe?

Ahhhhhhhhhh jdnation you mean you don’t believe in space aliens abducting earthlings and extracting their DNA? What about spaceships over Az? LOL.

I agree with ya 100% Nobody out here but us humans. I also see the point what would Jesus sacrifice mean to a non humanoid species? Is he a child of Adam and Eve? So y’all think it possible an alien line from somewhere else had a whole different set of circumstances? And if the planet Xia fell out of God’s grace’s like we did, does Jesus have to go there and suffer again???

All of this shakes the foundation of what we believe, but I reckon some are not content as they spend hours of their lifetime looking, when they could be doing something useful LOL.

Yet it has been proven that God did indeed create other worlds. Whether those worlds can sustain life or not, I have no idea. But the fact remains, there are other worlds in our solar system. And astronomers have found terrestrial planets around other stars. Or taken another way, Pius is stating that God did not create another world with humans on it. That I definitely agree with. But the statement does not take into account other types of life form.

The fact that there are millions, if not billions, of galaxies in the known universe, each with billions of stars, only increase the odds that there is life out there. Otherwise the uniqueness of our world looks like a ray of hope to the atheist who believes it all happened by chance. Billions upon billions of stars in the known universe and only one with any life strengthens that argument. What is the point of creating galaxies so far away they are only a tiny pin-prick in a high powered telescope.

If we found life on another planet, intelligent or not, it would only strengthen my belief in God, who is of course a Creator.

Yah, they built the pyramids, didn’t they? :hmmm:
They’re known as the Goa’uld…little parasitic snakelike creatures that infest hosts and wrap themselves around the brain and take control. Symptoms of Goa’uld infection include glowing eyes and a deep, gravelly voice.

Note …maybe some other Catholics would care to comment on this but I count 73 canonical texts and not 66.

Often some other bibles leave out the 2 books of Maccabees (part of our dogma on Purgatory is derived from the Second Book of Macabees chapt. 12:38-46), the book of Judith (I’ll leave the rest for someone else to fill in)…
In the words of Ed McMahon: You are correct sir.

73 books = catholic bible

66 or (less than 73)= protestant and others.

But, what does this have to do with aliens in the vatican basement?🙂

I think they’re trying to find the wine cellar (they must’ve heard some rumors). 😃

What a society we live in… huh? An alien under every rock and meanwhile the entertainment industry pulls the end run around the other side by glorifying even sometimes esteeming the demonic (of course a lot of us Catholics go to watch or rent those types of movies :hmmm: appears the Goa’uld infection is spreading).

Man is created in God’s image…and guess what ?..Aliens are created in man’s image…(we’ve never seen one so we just make one up out of our imagination)…want more proof ?.. :

Look back to the earlier alleged “sightings” and you’ll find that aliens had antennae on their heads. Once cable was invented and tv antennae started to disappear…the aliens’ antennae started to disappear at the same time…what a coincidence… …go figure !

They seem more intelligent/advanced than we are because they don’t have cable…which means they’re wireless I guess.

Three aliens walk into a bar…“ouch”, “ouch”, “ouch”, (it was a metal bar).🙂

So that explains all the “anal probes”…they’re looking for our USB ports! 😃

🙂 Hello …provement,

It would be laughable if it weren’t so tragic. People are being swayed this way and that with false teachings and philosophies.

And this time, its “really significant” because our “space bretheren” are the ones revealing it to us - they have been for aeons! How sad… the doctrine of demons. But because it is wrapped in a modern, space-aged, advanced galactic civilization package (UFO)…we believe it or ponder it plausibility…like SETI !

Seth Shostak doesn’t believe UFOs from other advanced civilizations visit the earth and definitely doesn’t believe that "little green (grey) men exist but!!!..“we’re listening for signs of life - out there”.

How sad. Of course aliens (demons) lost their antennae when we switched to cable. Of course UFOs are more sleek and modern looking than in the 1930’s and 40’s…Lucifer appeals to our sense of technology.

The rabbit hole goes so deep that it reaches the bowels of hell.

Hi mangy dog. You’re right of course: The loss of one’s soul, and even the loss or erosion of one’s faith is no laughing matter…as Our Lord Jesus told Saint Faustina Kowalska of the Divine Mercy:

“Today bring to Me All Mankind, especially all sinners and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me.”
(From her diary Divine Mercy in My Soul; quote/meditation applied to day 1 of the Novena to the Divine Mercy).

Very good earlier advice too…praying the Rosary, frequent Confession and Mass (I need the Eucharist daily)…you can’t beat it.👍

The Air Force has stealth craft with cloaking technology. I know, because I’ve never seen or heard them! So they work! 👍

I see and hear UFOs all the time. A UFO is an Unidentified Flying Object. So when I see movement out of the corner of my eye and hear a bang off the outside[sup]1[/sup] of my third-floor window, I know it was done by a Flying Object that is (so far) Unidentified. I see it fall to the ground, but I’m not sure what it is, so it’s now an Unidentified Grounded Object (UGO). A few months later, I go out in the back yard of the building (my apartment overlooks there), and lo and behold, I see the object – I identify it as a Frisbee – making it an Identified Grounded Object (IGO). It’s just been lying here ignored on the grass for a few months. I pick it up, give it a toss – it’s now an Identified Flying Object (IFO) – but where it lay, the grass has gone flat and brown: A BABY CROP CIRCLE!!!

Then I saw them: the Men In Black!! I screamed, I was so frightened!! (For the record, not as frightened as Fathers Alvarez and Mallory, who were doing visitations.) I ran away as fast as I could. I tripped over a garden gnome, knocking it over – and there on the bottom: MADE IN ZURICH! :bigyikes: So I run screaming into my apartment and put my protection on my head (no, not a tinfoil hat – you’d like that, wouldn’t you? Aluminum *amplifies *radio waves – no, there’s something better, and scientifically proven!![sup]2[/sup]) but then the TV tells me that Elvis is dead but Paul isn’t…so I tried playing Dark Side of the Moon synched up with The Wizard of Oz…except I only have The Wiz, and that’s on Beta…and I don’t have any Pink Floyd, so I synched it up with my 45 of Barry Sadler’s “Ballad of the Green Berets”,[sup]3[/sup] but I had to play it on 17 rpm so it wouldn’t run out so fast…and I was going crazy so I thought “I need a drink to calm down” so I decided to have a grasshopper (my favourite drink) but I didn’t have any creme de cacao or creme de menthe so I used Coffee-mate and Scope…I’m not any calmer :whacky: …so I decided I’m not going to let the aliens get their grubby mitts on me and do on of them “probes” they’re so fond of giving you in the caboose, so I’m going to hole up here in my apartment with the locks locked and the blinds drawn and the lights off. I won’t leave at all…except for my doctor’s appointment tomorrow, something called a “colonoscopy”…🤷

[sup]1[/sup] If it’s inside the window, it’s probably my cat.

Sorry guys!.."Survey said:

“…**For us men and for our salvation **He came down from heaven…”

Nobody has to give a clingon a catholic burial !
That is true…But what if say for argument sake a clingon. came to earth and told us how a man called jesus. came to his planet and told them excatly same things as he told us? and the clingon practicied all the things that we did for the same reasons? and the clingon died. would he get a catholic burial then? Do i believe in aliens? Yes. do i think they have visited earth? probably not. I’m just of the opinion the the universe is so huge that what ever we can possibly believe is out there, has a good chance of being “out there”.

I would remind all catholics on this thread that the apparition of the Virgin Mary at La Salette addresses the subject of these beings and their transports.

Saint Anthony of the desert also had an encounter with an “other-wordly” artifact. It is curious to note that he uttered an excorcism:

“You will not hinder my purpose [with this] by this, Satan; let this thing perish with thee”.

And “it” disappeared.

Beware of the “great deception” of Lucifer, contained in all the new-age and ultra-modernist rhetoric.

Gospa Mir.
Ok, I can’t find what Our Lady said about this subject at La Salette. What did she say?

Such speculation coming from the Catholic Church is satanic, to promote or allow its members to believe such garbage. The Catholic church ought to heed what Christ Jesus spoke of concerning Gods Holy Words and Gods Holy Words only.
WOW!!! He admits he does not believe the Bible 😦
Right from Rome. That in itself should remove all doubt for people not sure who or where the false prophet will be or come from:

Revelation 17: 9And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

That dove tails quite nicely with:POPE JOHN PAUL II EMBRACES EVOLUTION!!
cuttingedge.org/n1034.html

The Pope’s message went much further in accepting the theory of evolution as a valid explanation of the development of life on Earth, with one major exception: the human soul. **‘If the human body has its origin in living material which preexists it, the spiritual soul is immediately created by God’, the Pope said." **I do not intend to treat this subject from the aspect of scientific debate, for writers with much greater scientific expertise than I will effectively write about this story from that angle. Rather, I wish to simply point out two succinct facts about this ludicrous statement:

In this statement, the Pope contradicts the current religious teaching of his own Roman Catholic Church!! In the latest “Catechism of the Catholic Church”, published in 1994, we read this teaching on Creation, "Our profession of faith begins with God, for God is the First and the Last, the beginning and the end of everything.

The theory of Evolution is Godless, has been Godless from the beginning, and will always be Godless! It is pure, unadulterated blasphemy for Pope John Paul II to ever have declared evolution is compatible with the Christian faith!!

Sorry but seeing as “aliens” are mentioned nowhere in in scripture I don’t buy it. Satan and his fellow fallen angels are however mentioned, IMHO this is who the “aliens” truly are. The catholic church is a rudderless mess.

If aliens existed, the Bible would say so. Period. I personally believe that any UFOs and aliens people have claimed to encounter are either government aircraft or demons.

Why not? The catholic church is firmly anchored in pagan Babylonian mystery religions. Why not add another un-Biblical belief to the list

BTW:The Pope and down through the “ranks”, in the RCC sure are infallable !!

You don’t realize how crazy you sound, do you? The Catholic Church recognizes truth. “Truth cannot contradict truth,” as Pope John Paul II stated. Evolution is more of a scientific law than a theory. (Recall that gravity is a theory, too.) God brought man into the world through evolution. Evolution is FACT and in no way is contradictory to Christianity. Do some research and educate yourself. God IS the first and the last. Evolution is the process by which organisms evolve. God created the universe at the Big Bang and after billions of years, here we are. Your statement that evolution is Godless is backed by nothing.

Also, why would the Bible say anything about aliens? That would be irrelevant. The Bible is about God’s relationship to man on Earth.
