Have you seen O’s exec. orders? he doesn’t repeal anything, he just writes himself powers that overcome our congress and court

MODERATOR NOTE

It is fair to discuss a politician’s or newsmaker’s position on the issues and their qualifications for office, it is not fair to discuss their spiritual well being. Criticisms of a anyone’s spiritual life or spirituality should be left between that person and their spiritual director or confessor. They are not allowed in the forums. If a politician or newsmaker states that they are a certain religion that is the assumed religion of the politician in this forum, please do not question it.

If he really wrote 932 executive orders than there is def. no excuse for this dismal record. None whatsoever.

I lost a lot of respect for VP Biden tonight. He no longer seems to be a man of principles I thought his was, but rather just another political hack who’s time is passed.

I think this because VP Biden was far and way way too condesending toward his honorable opponent.

If the VP cannot show reasonable respect for his worthy opponent on national TV, then just what respect would he ever show me? If my views are to be brushed aside with “I know so much better than you, sonny” laughs, why should I respect Biden?

If I do not respect him, why would I ever vote for him?

Congressman Ryan kept his cool and did not make any serious mistakes. But there were a number of points Mr Ryan should have made and did not. He was too cautious, IMO.

Biden’s condesending attitude was very bad. And sorry, VP Biden, as a practicing Catholic, you are duty bound to vote your beliefs. If abortion is wrong, say it. And then say what is the better way. And thank God your mother did not abort you.

VP Biden lost IMO.

We are told the VP debate does not really change the vote. Perhaps. But Congressman Ryan kept his cool and did not make any serious mistakes. But there were a number of points Mr Ryan should have made and did not. He was too cautious, IMO.

Are you saying you were going to vote for Obama/Biden but are now changing your vote?

Sadly, we are often forced to consider people for political office that we would probably not be comfortable having in our own homes because they cannot be trusted.

One thing I always wish would get asked of politicians of Biden’s position on abortion. “Mr. Vice President, if you truly believe that life begins at conception, then how is it not murder to end that life? How is it not just as much of a murder to kill that child, which you claim to believe is a child, as it would be to kill one who is 4 years old?” The logic does not square. If Biden truly believes it is a child, he would also believe it is murder to kill that child. Therefore, I can only conclude that he does not truly believe that abortion is killing children.

To paraphrase Cardinal Arinze, it would be absurd to say that I am not personally supportive of shooting every member of the Senate, but if someone else wishes to do so then they can just be pro-choice on the issue. That is the basic argument that Biden made tonight, as absurd as it is. I can’t believe I am saying this, but he should listen to Jimmy Carter on the issue.

No, not at all, Link0126. I am saying that I lost a lot of respect for VP Biden tonight.

And that gives me MORE reason to vote Romney / Ryan.

We need a two party system. We need a HEALTHY debate, pro and con on various issues. THEN 60 plus million American vote and we move on.

VP Biden’s performance tonight was NOT a healthy debate. He is accomplished so it was not a mistake. It was intentional.

I vote for those that best match my principles. I do NOT vote for those I think MAY win but rather who should win.

As a Catholic I am for social justice, but not for abortion or gay marriage. But social justice is not unlimited. We are $16 thousand billion dollars in debt and spending more than $1 trillion MORE than we are taking in in taxes each year. Getting the 'rich" to pay their fair share will NOT reduce that annual deficit by any useful amount.

America CAN go bankrupt. We need a President that is wanting to address this very real problem. President Obama is NOT that man.

Gov Romney has a reasonable plan to create jobs in the private sector. More people employed means more income and more income taxes without raising the tax rates. More people employed also means less demand for government support.

All Biden needed was to keep people engaged with the Democratic point of view and keep independents from swinging over to the Romney/Ryan ticket. He achieved both.

Its not a win for anyone. The independents haven’t gone anywhere.
Well, since the momentum in the polls has been with Romney, a no-change VP debate means the momentum is still with Romney. 🤷

That’s a great post. It’s about math.

To restate the current situation let’s personalize it. Let’s say you make $87k per yr. But you spend $111k per year. So just to live for this year you have to borrow $24k. But you already owe your creditors $486k from previous loans. (Which you are not repaying but just covering the interest for now, you know, till you get your spending under control.) You go to the wife and kids and say we have to cut expenses and they agree, absolutely we must. We can cut $5k… next year. But then they start to fight about it and threaten to blow up the house if you don’t relent and back off those absurdly draconian measures. That’s the situation if multiplied by 333,333. (For the sake of illustration).

Fiscal responsibility is not a sin. Fiscal irresponsibility is.
