Well, the woman partaking in a new age exhibition of the incense was something that was certainly different, among other things.

Back to Basics: If one is in a state of mortal sin, one cannot obtain grace through good works. While all the good works of this congregation are “good works” how can we ignore the openly gay lifestyle of many of its members? If we believe that being actively gay is a mortal sin - as we believe all sex outside of marriage is a mortal sin - then how can the hierarchy of the church condone the undermining of our faith by gay Jesuits?

Re the Video: Woman in white with incense? Not in the Catholic Faith!
Elevation of a basket during Consecration? Not a licit Mass. We elevate the host because that is God Incarnate. We worship Him and Him alone. Did Dolan kneel in reverance? I think not.

Re Mission: NOT about the remission of gay sin - ALL ABOUT gay pride and actively gay and proud. HOW MANY TIMES DID DOLAN AND EGAN USE THE WORD ‘PROUD’ WHILE TALKING? They speak in code and we understand the code.

Please view this video of last weekend’s “rededication Mass” at NYC’s St. Francis Xavier parish. Many aspects of this video are deeply disturbing.

Confusion has truly set in. I read one of Archbishop Dolan’s books and liked it very much. I don’t understand if he was condoning the life style or not. Was he saying that the active gay community are welcome, did they receive Holy Communion? My mom thinks i’m to conservative. She is for gay marriage and womens ordination, so I go looking for clarity and end up more confused than when I stated. I love and respect our priests and bishops but I don’t see a unified answer.

As faithful Catholics we all must embrace those who struggle with sins of all kinds and help them to turn away from sinful lifestyles. Support groups are wonderful. What is going on at St. Francis Xavier is not that at all, however. Gays and lesbians are encouraged to live their active lifestyles without shame. As to the question of whether these parishioners receive the Eucharist - just look at one of the many parishioner profiles on the website to find that answer. Frank Lavin’s profile/bio details his being confirmed at St. Francis Xavier last year despite having a partner for a few years.

If parishioners were learning to live chaste lives they would not be marching in Gay Pride parades, or attaching “gay” and “lesbian” to everything they do at the parish. They would want to identify themselves as CATHOLICS not gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender. Catholic is where the emphasis should be. Also, the use of this word “ministry” is abusive. (LGBT ministry)

Catholics cannot pick and choose what they believe in when it comes to the core tenets of our faith. One of these tenets is that homosexual behavior is an inherent evil. Archbishop Dolan does not feel the need to straighten this parish out. What is more disturbing than having yet another parish spin out of control, is the fact that the Archbishop of one of the biggest/most important dioceses in the country chooses to preside over a Mass where:
-there is a New Age female liturgical dancer fluttering around the altar with a bowl of insence
  • the militant gay congregation formally presents themselves to him, to which he gives a huge smile and thumbs up
-he tells the parishioners that “the church is always being reformed”
-during the consecration, he elevates the host in what looks like a brownie tin (with all the money the church has raised, they couldn’t give our Lord a gold chalice/paten?)
-the music director tells us how the “gay/lesbian ministries and [the church’s] commitment to having women on the altar is prophetic”!
And why would Egan say this is “one of the great, great parishes of the world”. We lay Catholics must stand up for what is right, extol our wonderful and faithful priests and bishops, and call out of heretical/destructive ones. God does not call us to be naive.

Thruthful, you are so right. I live in New York and for those of you who don’t know, the gay pride parade is full of obscene demonstrations, some of which cannot even be shown on the News. No anti-gay sentiment is tolerated. The paraders seek to be outrageous in their costumes and in their actions. In this environment, nobody is seeking to point out the error of their ways, much less the parishioners of St. Francis Xavier. I dare say, a person could be arrested for going up against what they stand for.

I do not want to harm any gay person but I also do not want my Chuch hijacked by gay activists and gay priests. If you want a clearer picture of the problem, read “Goodbye, Good Men” and you will see that the gay movement has taken hold in the Chuch.

Notice, also, what was NOT said at St. Francis. DID ANYONE urge a reformed lifestyle? JUST WHAT IS prophetic about this church? gay marriage? gay priests? women priests? All of the above and more?

Overall the parish looks to be of the liberal Jesuit persuasion. Thus, I doubt much will change regarding its practices. Moreover, I am a little taken aback with regard to the Archbishop not correcting any of the liturgical abuses so evident in the Ordinary Form Mass the parish conducted.

[Is 3:9] Their very look bears witness against them; their sin like Sodom they vaunt, They hide it not. Woe to them! they deal out evil to themselves.

[Is 1:9] Unless the LORD of hosts had** left us a scanty remnant**, We had become as Sodom, we should be like Gomorrah. Hear the word of the LORD, princes of Sodom! Listen to the instruction of our God, people of Gomorrah!

[Deu 32:28] For they are a people devoid of reason, having no understanding.

It seems to me that the traditional Catholic is fast becoming a “Scanty Remnant”.

Look at whats going on around us. The CCHD (USSCB’s favorite orginations) constantly gives financial support to these “Sodom” agenda driven organizations. Only 80 or so bishops out of hundreds came out against Fr. Jenkins. The majority of Catholics in this country voted for this current administration.

Yup, we are fast becoming the “Scanty Remnant”. This really is a shame.

As a member of the St. Francis parish, it is so wonderful to see a truly prophetic community, practicing in the genuine spirit of Jesus Christ. As the national movement for inclusion and LGBT ministries in many parishes grows, the discernment of the body of Christ will be awakened to the message of true love found in God.

Thank you for sharing the video which I had not had the chance to see.

ye. this Church truly reminds us of the Church of the New Testament. doesnt it?

i wonder what St Paul is saying about this Church. or better yet, how about the prophecies to the Churches in Revelation?

this truly reminds me of the Prophecy of: when you see abomination in the Holy Place.

It sounds as though you are saying the Archbishop of New York, along with the prior Archbishop of New York and all the clergy present at that mass were publicly and on video tape participating in abomination??!

Wow.

Wow.
think as you wish.

are you saying that they are immune to sin?

FROM MSNBC June 19th was the beginning of Gay Pride Week. Date sound familiar?
Yes, that was the date of the rededication Mass. They kicked off their big week with this and today they end the week with their parade.

PA650 - you got it!! And to think that this man will go to Ireland to look into gay seminaries and is in line to become a Cardinal as all the heads of the NY Archdiocese become. He can then vote for the next Pope. Do you see the enormity of the situation?

WisdomSeeker has it right. Not only are Egan and Dolan complicit. They are actively on board. Make that two votes for the next Pope!!!

Parishioner of St. Francis, OANDMHK - please tell us more. I’m not sure I understand you.

Zathros, Yes, we are saying it.

Beware of the enemy within. They are in a much more powerful position to harm us than any outside force can hope or imagine.

Stay awake and stay strong.

Special Note to Joly - I don’t know how old you are, but I think you might like to watch Mother Angelica on EWTN. She will help you to realize the truth. Also, I and others on this site would no doubt like to discuss some of your confusion and help you to understand our religion.

Very good guys.

thank you for the support. it takes discernment lots of it to distinguish the wolves from the sheeps. our Lord has warned us but many simply choose to ignore.

there are those who dresses as sheep yet they are wolves. dont let them fool you, just because they look good in those clothes.

i notice that parishes that emphasize lots of good work, they pay very little attention to the Worship of God and who is in the Church. the Lord is not manipulated by good works. the devil offered Jesus lots of things which He firmly rejected. i wonder why? the devil was trying to do good. even good works must be discerned. where is it coming from?

wonderfull! you got it right. why would they give God a gold Chalice? God is not the main Person in that place, the people are. just pay attention to them loving each other above all. pay attention to them praising themselves and their accomplishment.

can you come to the house of God and dedicate the praises to yourselves.

how about all that clap? how about the whistles?
God help us. i cant tell you one thing, the first time i saw the bishop D, i saw something something wasnt right.

You really hit the nail on the head and identified the heart of the problem. Well-said.
