You make a point that is valid, and one I shake my head at. There are a number of posters who hold up China as a beacon of truth, and doubt everything that seems to contradict the CCP propaganda (like their infection rates, or the cause, etc.)

This virus was sequenced at the very beginning of the outbreak, and the experts in genetic engineering who use Crispr technology realized very early that it is extremely unlikely that this virus was deliberately engineered. The Crispr toolbox is well known and the techniques for genetic engineering with it are well known. The genetic code of this virus does not fit the pattern of something that was engineered from that toolbox. On the other hand, it fits the pattern of something that resulted from natural mutations of that just happened to be capable of this deadly infection.Balto1:

Facebook and Instagram get to decide what they allow on their platforms, and have decided not to allow COVID-19 misinformation. As evidenced by this thread it doesn’t matter what the science is, people will believe whatever damaging misinformation that aligns with their political stances.
Don’t know, but it is a remarkably stupid move.
They are establishing precedent that they are responsible for the contents of their servers.
They don’t have the infrastructure to handle that responsibility.
Would have been far better and easier for them to stay simply a platform.
Without knowing it is or is not…tough call.
Of course, now we can hold them responsible for any and every crackpot post seen on their servers.
Perhaps the courts should be looking at that.
That wasn’t my question. My question was why do they feel the need to silence her? I know they are allowed to, though I think it’s time to lift their statutory protections.
Claiming her work is misinformation without evidence is dishonest. If they have the evidence, prove her wrong. Then everyone will know she is. Silencing her is the tactic of cowards and tyrants.
