you can vote to allow these 600,000 or more babies a year to keep dying.
There is currently a Republican president sitting in the White House, and the Supreme Court has had a majority of Republican-appointed justices since 1969, and there are still 600,000 babies dying each year.

Obviously, having a Republican president has not saved any babies, nor has having a Republican Supreme Court.

Furthermore, 5 of the 7 justices who voted to approve Roe v. Wade were appointed by Republicans.

So the idea that voting for a pro-life candidate is somehow going to save those babies seems to be contradicted by the facts.

That may be terrible, but how many of them died? 25 MILLION??? that’s how many human babies die on average every single year due to abortion.
And introducing restrictive laws will reduce this total by how many? If you want fewer abortions things like awareness of the pregnancy risk from casual sex, better family planning advice, higher incomes, more jobs, more stable families, less drug and alcohol use are likely to have a greater impact.

You also have the problem that new medical (drugs you take at home) abortions have simplified the procedure to the point where regulation is getting close to impossible. If the ‘war of drugs’ has not stopped the massive drug trade to US citizens who take a dose every day, the US will not be able to prevent abortion drugs being supplied to people who want them every few years.

Voting on this issue as a symbol of your belief is something. Voting expecting few abortions is not taking all reality into account.

It is unlikely that abortion will once more be illegal but the next battle has to be won. That battle is infanticide. That is clearly delineated. Democrat’s want it. Republicans don’t.

Here is your numbers; of the 2.6 million almost a quarter is heart disease. All caused by food companies do not take responsibility for. Suger and corn poured down our throats because it’s cheap and addictive.
Although food can contribute to heart disease it doesn’t cause it. There are many causation including heredity.
Tens of thousands of people are wrongly held in prison and die at the hands of cops.
I need a citation for this. The old joke is everyone is innocent. Tens of thousands die from the hands of police. Citation please.
Covid-19 death toll is 187,000 due to white house and state mishandling.
You put no blame on the Chinese who lied?

Trump could have issued retool orders month ago. He’s mismanaged diplomatic relations, the virus, the riots all of it.

Just how are the riots his fault. I remember he was criticized for not allowing people into the U.S. than he was criticized for not doing it soon enough. So again I ask for proof of what you write.
But we have an idiot you can toss right now. Killing way more then 600k a year.
Proof?

Oh everyone thinks they would “vote for Jesus”. The fact is that when it came time to claim Him as king in front of pilate. There was not one recorded “yes” vote. Somehow we all think we would have been different.

@redcatholic
We have Holy Spirit, we have 2000 years of experience and examples of saints.
Now I know what you mean. It’s easy to talk the talk and not so easy to walk the walk. What I am saying that we must be careful that we don’t rely on ourselves.

For an example: I always thought that saying “I will never commit this sin again” is a sign of pride. But it’s not. In fact, we should honestly say this and the only way we can honestly say this is if we rely completely on God. Sometimes saying that, actually boost our Hope. We believe as we pray and we pray as we believe.

There’s so much history here to go over. Go look into John Yudic. I’m not going to derail this thread to catch people up.

I don’t vote in China, I vote for the man who promised to stand up to China then sat back when it came time to act.
Everything I said above? The sentence you quoted was a summery of all previous points.

If catholics want to be single issue voters then understand (and this applies to both parties) the death toll of decisions can cost just as much of not more then abortion.

Yeah, all those poor immigrants and the prisoners in Gaza and all black kids killed by police.
Never had a chance.
The immigrants all lived. There are no “prisoners in Gaza”. There are Arabs in Gaza and they’re alive. The only black “kids” killed recently have been in the riots and in the black-on-black crime in Democrat-run cities.

The unborn; nearly a million of them, all died because Democrat politicians intended that they die.

If catholics want to be single issue voters
Since the Dems really arent’ going to do any of the things they pretend they’ll do except raise taxes, those who vote Democrat are the true “single issue voters”, and that vote is for abortion on demand and infanticide.

Isn’t there already a topic going on right now on how to make an informed voting decision as a Catholic? Do we really need another thread going over the same old arguments for the umpteenth time?

How can you be Democratic and also be Catholic? Social Justice
It seems like there would be Democratic Catholics out there. But these Democratic Catholics would be promoting ProChoice, whether they know it or not. It’s a huge Democratic policy right now. And ProChoice is the opposite of what Catholic doctrine teaches, which is ProLife. So how could any person claim they are Catholic Democrat and not be lying to themselves, because any person who supports ProChoice really isn’t Catholic because they don’t believe in what Catholicism teaches?

Can you be a good catholic and a democrat and support the democrat party? Casual Discussion

I can’t teach you history or current events.

Because not one Republican voted for it? The Senate hasn’t been stuffed with a majority of Republicans over the last twenty years? Brent K on the supreme Court wasn’t pushed there with the explicit purpose to down vote abortion.

None of which has helped.

Democrats counsel despair to Catholics when they know full well great progress has been made. One more justice and Roe is finished. They know that, which is why they have tried to get rid of Trump from day one.

Again, the Democrat urging of despair to prolife Catholics. A terrible counsel.

Perhaps you should change jobs and admit that you don’t know Trump at all.
I watched the fox interview. Fox of all people are normally on his side. He shouted down statistic that made him look bad and waved around statistics he though made him look good but were still bad.

I don’t need to know him a leader is supposed to listen.

but you could learn it. Over statements are not the truth.

This is not proof only your flapping keyboard. If you had proof you should link it not say look into John Yudic. I couldn’t find anyone by that name.
You are right we shouldn’t derail this thread which means you shouldn’t have posted a hit peace that you couldn’t back up.

Obama did the same thing, with a more acid tongue. But since he’s a Democrat that was okay.

I’ve often been frustrated by people who seem to hold extreme views constantly saying “it’s not my job to teach you.” So of course you go a research. Maybe you find it, maybe you don’t. When you finally get there however and have linked for the fiftieth time the proof why it slips out:

It’s not my job to teach you.
