Eden:
Is this by immigration of Muslims to the U.S. not conversion? Like I said, I never hear about anyone even contemplating Islam.

Christians make up approximately 33% of the world’s population, Islam approximately 22% so I’m not seeing your point. Sorry.
Actually there are literally thousand of Americans who are converting to Islam… check out any prison in the country.

Islam appeals to those who are “downtrodden” or “oppressed”, or consider themselves “slaves” or among the “misfortunate”, or out of work, or heavily taxed…

And simple study of the roots of Islam and how Muhammad started his false religion will show who his followers were, and what walks of life they came from,… not much has changed today.

Keep your eye on France… high unemployment, high taxes… ripe for the pickings by the Muslims.

American ecomony is booming (not here in Michigan though), so there is little conversion here except for all the innocent people in our prisons.

Associating religions with prisons? lol MrS you should be a comic.

Dear brothers and sisters from Muslim background, there are many of you, I know this. I hope the above articles will show more of you the necessity to speak up and let the Muslims know of the fact that it is not so uncommon for Muslims to find to the truth of God in Jesus our Savior and Lord, and the reason for your new faith.
-From answering-islam.org/Testimonies/
“Buying converts” is a regular Islamic practice that is not often spoken about:

and here are some books written by former Moslems:
  • William McElwee Miller, Ten Muslims Meet Christ, Eerdmans, 1969, 1987, 150 pages, ISBN 0-8028-1304-6, tells the stories of ten Iranian converts.
  • More to be Desired than Gold, True Stories Told by Christy Wilson, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, ISBN 0-9640910-1-1, with several dozens of short testimonies, many from Afghanistan, 180 pages.
  • JESUS - more than a prophet, Edited by RWF Wootton, Inter-Varsity Press, England & Send The Light (Operation Mobilization), 1982, reprinted 1984, contains 15 testimonies.
    • Mark Hanna, The True Path: Seven Muslims Make Their Greatest Discovery, International Doorways Publishers, 1975
    • Jean-Marie Gaudeul, Called from Islam to Christ, 320 pages, Monarch Publications 1999, ISBN: 1-85424-427-2
I thought I would show you it goes both ways…Moslem to Christian not just Christian to Moslem because apparently, your religion does not believe it happens.
oh they believe it happens… it is called insulting Islam, and carries a death sentence from the religion of peace.

MrS, this sounds terrible - after all, didn’t Christianity start among tax collectors and prostitutes in a poor downtrodden backwater of a Roman province? Weren’t they hoping for a Messiah who would physically relieve them from their burdens? Weren’t some of them Zealots, fighting actively against the Romans? These ones almost without a doubt would have been imprisoned for their activities.

Just because Christianity is a major religion today accepted among all levels of society doesn’t mean we can ignore its beginnings and its major focus, which has always been the poor and downtrodden.

And what if they convert?
anything they do would be part of God’s Plan, not Allah’s;)

In the end… all are Catholic whether in Heaven or in Hell

One Lord…One Faith…One Baptism

Christianity was/is the fullfillment of the Old Testament and is meant for all. There was NEVER any attempt to build Christianity from the oppressed.

The “first” included men (fishermen) who had their own business, and those who could spend some time of thier own freely following Jesus and listening to His teachings.

Christianity has as its “major focus” the redemption of sinners through Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection !!!

In the end we are all Hindu. Or are we Anglican or maybe Shinto.

Perhaps we are all secretly Tengrists!

Yes, and Islam has as its major focus the redemption of sinners through belief in Allah and Mohammed his Prophet. The fact is religion of all kinds appeals most to the poor and downtrodden and will find its major base among these classes - isn’t that why Marx called it ‘opiate of the masses?’

Why would you choose to quote an atheist for a definition of religion???

Your words make me wonder if you think we are here to obtain a better life in this world (let religion make life better for us), when we are here to attain a better life in the next world.

Are you Catholic??

Why not guote an Atheist? He has just as good understanding of religion as you.

Just cause they disagreed with you doesn’t make them non catholic. What a narrow view.

More importantly, it is our Pope who warned us about the “Dictatorship of Relativism”.

Yep… hey Eden… join me a short prayer for anyone born on the feast of the Incarnation…

“May the greatest event in the history of creation bring graces to those whose eyes are closed, and hearts are hardened. May they see the first glimpse of the Truth, and may they feel compelled to follow in the footsteps of the One Who become man for the redeemption of their sinfull existence.”

March 25th… Feast of the Annunciation… The Incarnation

When I quote Marx it doesn’t mean I believe in Communism or atheism any more than if I quoted Luther or the Quran it would mean I belived in them … :banghead: That would make inJesus at least a fairly thoroughgoing Muslim, wouldn’t it?

For the benefit of MrS and all who think that quoting someone means you agree with everything they say and stand for, let me say it clearly: I am NOT a relativist, I do not believe that all religions are equal or nearly equal. Why do you think I spend half of my time on here arguing with people like freedomm?

I’m trying to put myself for half a second into the shoes of a Muslim to see whether the main emphasis of his religion is mainly or solely on converting prisoners or the other types of people MrS was talking about … and I’d say no more so than Christianity. It’s more of an effect, not an aim that most or all religions appeal to the ‘masses’ Marx was speaking of (and no I don’t agree with his use of the word ‘opiate’ :banghead:

Have you heard the theory of the origin of Islam? Well, it seems there were a couple of camel herders going about their wandering in the desert when they ran into a couple of shepherds. Now these shepherds were faithful Christians and told the camel herders about the Life, Death and Resurrection of Our Lord. The shepherds were filled with Truth, Peace and Joy. The camel herders were a bit envious, and before long they decided to tell a story more flattering to their camel herders using a little of this and a little of that from the Christian shepherds and making up the rest. It was enlarged and varied upon by many other camel herders and they called it a Religion of Peace but it wasn’t and they could never be filled with Truth, Peace and Joy. Those that wanted to be Christians were killed because that would be an insult to the Religion of Peace. Go figure.

Please don’t talk ignorance read or maybe talk to knowledgeable people before you go ranting. It’s like people making ignorant comments about catholocism.
