So here is what it says:
We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.
It’s great to have extended family and a “village” help and support you in raising your family. But I agree that the wording above about disrupting the nuclear family is very disturbing. What exactly does that mean?

Western presrcibed. As in, heteronormative neolocal family groups not extending up or down a generation. I think they want to normalize that other types of families exist, which I am fine with to a degree. I particularly hate the neolocal thing, and advocate multigenerational homes as much as possible, in the same place.

This. I can affirm that Black Lives Matter without being part of the organization by that name or subscribing to all their beliefs.
I believe that Black lives do matter, as do white lives, yellow lives, brown lives, red lives, and any other I may have left out. Human lives matter being the point.
For me, the BLM thing is an attempt to detract from other races and beliefs by drawing attention exclusively to their (mostly historical) injustices. But for thinking that, I’d quickly be labeled a racist when I am not. If I judge anyone at all, it is based on their behavior and has zero to do with the pigment of their skin. I also do not presuppose based on that. So,they can scream “racist” at me all day every day, but that will not make it the case, nor will it give anyone just cause to riot, burn, damage private property, which is precisely what I now think of when I hear or see #BLM anywhere. However, based on their “what we believe” page, I am not at all surprised. They’re opposed to so many standards I hold dear that it’s no wonder I disagree with their political movement…and that it is, Marxist for certain. People should really read that page slowly and let it sink in what they believe before agreeing with them, especially Catholics who are bound by conscience to believe much differently in many areas…

My biggest issues are around statements like:
We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement
We …do the work required to dismantle cisgender privilege
We foster a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking
These go beyond issues of race, but to dismissing the importance of the family unit and fighting to rewrite societal norms by painting any one who does not support query theory or gender ideology as an enemy to be fought.

The idea of painting different groups as the enemy is common in Marxist ideologies. The way to power is by engendering class struggles. It is part of the insideous nature of identity politics.

We must note that “collective” “collective good” etc. is marxism. It is contradictory to Catholicism. For example, one may feel they are doing a good work by voting for a progressive who wants to over tax the rich and redistribute to the poor. That is not charity and is not an act of charity on your part if you support this. It is theft which is one of the Ten Commandments. God wants a cheerful giver not marxism. Marxism is pure evil and it should be dismissed in all entirety.

This is where confusion might set it.

People that say “BLM” are not necessarily part of the organization and don’t necessarily share the beliefs that you see on the “what we believe” page. BLM can refer to a movement or the organization.

As with many movements you’ll find a small set of uniting positions but after that the positions are as varied as the people in the movement.

If I recall correctly, one of the founding ladies of the BLM organization put out a tweet with the phrase before the organization was formed. This people started using it in the absence of any organization; it came later.

Every group has enemies. Christians are the enemy of “the world,” and the creeds, bible, and Magisterium is our manifesto. It is not inherently Marxist to have enemies.we have an in-group identity, so did Jesus. One may disagree about what you think of gender theories and that kind of thing. Catholics are divided and that’s fine, divided on that issue. As long as the teachings are upheld, we’re good.

To illustrate, I think it means they wish to destroy the definition of the traditional American family, that being, one (historically white) mother + father + children, wherein “mother” is a biological female, and “father” is a biological male, and “children” were produced by normative biological means between the two.

I find it interesting they use the word “nuclear,” because IF they thought about the atomic structure of atoms, there’s a nucleus, wherein lie protons(+), electrons(-), and neutrons(0). All is heldt together in that atom by magnetic forces. If these are split, you get a nuclear reaction - think Hiroshima…it’s called fission, Einsteins. E=mc^2 ring a bell anyone?!

And no, neutrons are not equivalent to “trans” ppl if they wanna argue this point. They’re simply glue that hold the structure together - call them love if need be. Whatever.

=

Based on that statement, the logic is that someone postulated they are Marxist. That is not the case. They ARE Marxist, no postulation needed. Read the link, compare to Marxism = it is clear.

And, FTR, they cooperate with the Muslim Brotherhood. Muslim beliefs are certainly at great odds with Catholics’. Jus sayin’.

If folks do not see that all this progressive filth is Satan, they never will. This is Satan pure and simple. We need to stop mulling over the little factoids and see the bigger picture of what is going on. I think folks are just in denial.

There needs to be many more so people wake up. There are even priests out there protesting holding BLM signs.
Is it possible they’re supporting the movement and principles and not the organization itself?

I did not post this regarding people who simply say the words “Black Lives Matter.” I was specifically referring to their “What We Believe” statement on their home page. So, movement or no, if someone at a protest is holding up a BLM sign, i must think they agree with those beliefs.

What it does NOT mean is overthrowing the nuclear family. What it does mean is supporting the nuclear family, particularly when the nuclear family is malfunctioning, for example, when there is child abuse, a physically or mentally ill member of the nuclear family, an absentee member of the family, and so on. The notion of the “village” or community caring for the children is not at all a new or revolutionary idea. The community, such as the Black Church (or White Church), can serve as a back-up to bolster the nuclear family. In other cultures, the elders are consulted by the family for counsel and guidance.

What do you think Marxism is? Also Catholics sometimes cooperate with different faiths.

Don’t. Someone holding up a sign may have never read that page. The only way to know if someone agrees with any specific belief is to ask them. Attributing the beliefs to everyone with a sign is not a pathway to understanding their position.

Negative. It is overwhelmingly a marxist organization and a marxist movement. Is there anyone out protesting who is not a marxist? probably but they are supporting marxism whether they think so or not.

I’m tired of the weak leadership of our political correct clergy. They could clearly make a statement denouncing the organization and not protest. But say that they reject racism and oppression in our world and our praying for healing. Something along those lines. Instead of going out and painting themselves with a marxist brush.

I am just so sick of decent folk giving these marxists groups the time of day. They are radical marxists who want our way of life destroyed. Folks need to wake up, read some history.

Many years ago I had a link to a post on the CPUSA forum in which it was stated that the idea of the CPUSA was to help all these left-leaning groups, gather them under the CPUSA umbrella, all helping each other out, so that the various groups would in turn help them when the time came.

So very sincere people, people genuinely upset with the actions of the police against their community, started using the phrase BLM. This was snapped up, appropriated?, by some self-proclaimed “Marxist-trained” people who “founded” the BLM organization.

It’s bait-and-switch on the part of these “Marxist-trained” people who stand for way more than improving relations between the police and civilians. The Marxists are giving them aid, and the view of the protestors with lurch leftward in return.

The Western-prescribed nuclear family is individualistic and isolated. Post-partum depression runs rampant in the West, and stay-at-home parents live in bubbles punctuated by the occasional playgroup gathering. In other cultures, a nuclear family is part of a strong and supportive community, where everybody has each other’s backs.

“Disrupt” is an odd word choice, but it doesn’t mean destroy. And it certainly doesn’t mean that they’re going to tear families apart and send the children to Marxist gulags. Stronger communities are a good thing.
I was curious, so I went to the site to see what it is the group actually states, etc.
And you do understand the difference between BLM the organization and BLM the movement, yet?
