Chickadees are my favorite. I love to see them hopping around calling “dee dee dee”

Bright little fellow 🙂
I’m guessing birds over there must be nesting now ,or preparing? 🤔
I noticed a pair of Mountain duck out in the paddock, they often come to where farmers have fed out grain to the sheep.

Right now, this is not my favorite bird 😠 I checked the clock, and the Dark-eyed Junco in the tree outside my window started his loud repetitive trill at exactly 4 am, a good 2 1/2 hours before sunrise 😠. They’ve been doing this night song here for the past few weeks.

Perfect alarm clock!

Our pair of mockingbirds chirp all night. It’s either get used to it or…

Have some Jelly Beans.

The Momma Robins are pretty fat around these parts! Today has been an excellent
Spring bird day - they are all chirping, the geese on the lake are honking and the seagulls are up to their usual screaming. Weatherman says snow will reappear this weekend - seems like that couldn’t happen after these two days - but, its Michigan!
Oh yes, our Loon family is back - love their song.

A Tundra Swan at Ninepipe (pronounced ninny-pippy) NWR. This would be 2019 bird species encounter #124.

I was just kidding about how to pronounce ‘ninepipe’. That’s an old joke we used to pull on the greenhorns back in the day.

This is a Greater Yellowlegs. See it’s greater yellow legs? I sure do. This was Montana lifer #169 for me.

For those of you struggling with your yellowleg ID’s, here’s a handy guide from John Sills book ‘Little Known About and Seldom Seen Birds of North America’.

This is a member of the notoriously difficult to ID genus of empidonax flycatchers. I observed it last Monday at @ 6500’ elevation. I’ve provided a fool-proof ID chart if any of you would like to put their skills to test.
