Great photo Tad!
Thanks!

Here’s a couple of pics of an Inca Dove from HTM. They used to be a common backyard bird in Tucson but are now rare. I’m not sure why. I miss them though. Haven’t seen one anywhere in a couple of years.

I’m sitting in my little kitchen hearing starlings bounce on the iron roof …they are pretty good at mimicking other bird calls, and unfortunately also clever at finding gaps under the eves for making nests 😬 It’s only just turned Winter but I did see a stray blue egg on the ground nearby…so somehow I’m going to have to block any gaps on the roof that I can find (ie,next to the chimneys)

Where is winter beginning for you? We have just recently said our hoped for “final” goodbye about the last day of May - frost at night! But on one day when it was on the nice side, a lovely Red Breasted Grosbeak has come for some sunflower seed and was seen again this week.

I’m in Victoria state,Australia. We have four very distinct seasons but it only really gets down to -2 C where I live ,and for just a handful of nights. Most of the birds stay around for Winter and come to think of it more water fowl and Ibis fly in to paddle around swamps and dams.Today is tops of 13C.
I noticed Spoonbills and Cormorants and many ducks on a drive yesterday 🙂

Another photo from Memorial Day weekend at HTM. This is a Northern Beardless Tyrannulet, so named as to distinguish it from the Southern Bearded Tyrannulet. What a weird name for a bird. Careful observers will notice this bird looks suspiciously like an empid, but it’s not.

Having coffee indoors this Sunday morning I can hear Sulpher crested cockatoos ,our goose 😅,crows, magpies, starlings, our two Barbary doves, sparrows.
There is also a young rooster learning to crow, his voice is a it wonky though 🙂

Raining so much today, swamps filling …attracting lots of black swans and ducks. It won’t be too long before they start thinking about making nests 🙂

The whole tree was full of these birds, regrets forgot their names

Its Winter,I pulled over to answer the phone in my car and all the while a flame Robin was sitting on the fence observing. We don’t see many about,so it’s always a nice suprise to sight one …and it’s usually about this time of year.

This little sweetie is one of the Great Tits in our area who was just born this year. Glad to see him hanging around our home.

He’s very sweet,and a pretty colour 🙂
Is he fairly quiet ?

It’s night here now, very still out side and chilly…black swans were calling as they were flying overhead, kind of an eerie sound but so lovely.
Instinct is amazing ,flying from one body of water to the next in the dark 🤔

I found an audio of their song. They start serenading us as soon as the sun rises.

I can imagine what the black swans sound like. That would be wonderful! I love it when flocks of geese fly over the lake by our house.

Just beautiful :blush:My cat was listening in too…he stopped purring and was watching .
Thank you!
I just have frogs serenading me tonight 🐸

Almost three months ago (April) I told about a redwing blackbird that used our doorwall for a punching bag - well, its him! He struts across the upper deck railing - back and forth - wonder if he is going to start attacking it again! He “screees” early in the morning but that’s okay. 🥱

Past the shortest day now and I’ve noticed a few Little Ravens gathering sticks and wool as nesting materials 😊 We still have two months of Winter to go but I love all the little advancements towards Spring that are occurring 🙂
It won’t be long till I’m complaining about the heat again 😅🙃

One of the noisy young fledgling crows here got smooshed by a car on the road in front of Mom’s house. The parents are up in the tree calling to their flat-as-a-pancake child to get up . But there’s no shortage of crows around here 😒.

Now I’ve got an image of a pancake flat crow peeling itself off of the road 😒
And it’s near my bed time…I hold you accountable for my nightmares you scary American 😠
