wait a minute?? thats an ‘oozak!’
It is a play on the term Musak .
That filled thousand of elevators
and doctors offices with joyous music.

I used to play lead Guitar in a band…

Thes days I just play the MP3s

I learned to play guitar as a girl. Played songs like:
  • A Hundred Miles (a folk song)
  • I’m a Believer
  • Last Train to Clarksville
monkees.net/DOCS/LYRICS/CLARKS.htm

(the Monkees were very popular in those years)

Got into my second year of junior high and gave it up. That’s because I’d been using clacker balls and my arms were so bruised up from using those clacker balls that it hurt to hold my guitar.

Then I found other hobbies.

Still have that guitar, though… it’s a cheap-oh one and out of tune. Maybe I’ll start up again someday. Probably not, though… the skin on my fingers will have to get all calloused up again to play.

From time to time, though, if someone lets me “try out” their guitar, I can still play a particular simple rock-n-roll riff that is repeated in a Stones song whose title I don’t remember.

Violin, ocarina, guitar, synth. (I have played drums too, but not very well. Always sounds more like a lot of pans crashing down in the cupboard.) 😃

I bought this Yamaha FG-150 Red Label about 35 years ago, 1969, I think. Just lately I saw another one. First time ever. It was in a Hock shop and the sign said, “Rare guitar”. Well, I always thought so too.

Been trying to learn to play it. I think I’m starting to catch on.

My brother-in-law injured his knee in a snow-mobile accident. After being operated on and repaired he asked the doctor if he would be able to play the piano.

Doc says, “I don’t see why not.”

My brother-in-law says, “Great! I never could before.”

I’ve got a Celtic Harp, but I haven’t really touched it much since the kids were born.

That is hilarious!! Thanks for sharing, Les. Started my day with a laugh.

And to answer the poll:

SINGERS ARE MUSICIANS, TOO!!!
:amen:

I don’t play musical instruments. I’ve always had a problem getting the notes in my head and on the page to come out through my fingers. 😛

I’m just about to start my 6th year as a soprano in our parish choir, and my 12th consecutive year of choral singing. I’m also a member of our parish Chamber Choir, and have been a cantor for almost 5 years.

I love music. I have an education degree in music allowing me to play many different types of instruments, including the oh so forgotten brass. My main instrument is flute, however I am able to play many others. I feel as if God gave me a gift with music and I can communicate best, get into the deepest prayers through music. It is such a beautiful gift that I wish so many people could experience it and understand the enjoyment music can bring on one’s life.

I play violin professionally and trumpet for fun. I play for mass and have played trumpet at Christmas time on a street corner with friends from a Salvation Army band. I love doing these things for the glory of God and giving back with the talents He’s given me.

I play the cello, but I don’t play it very well. I play in my school’s orchestra, but that’s about it.

I really enjoy it though. The Cello’s Low G is the most beutiful note in the whole world.

I attempt (very badly) to play the acoustic guitar. Let me just say that I am a much better accountant than musician!

I don’t mean to sound arrogant. I play in a professional orchestra. I play of course the violin. A little piano. I praise the Lord with my fiddle which I named “St. Michael.” The devil hates it when I play Ave Maria on it. I should note that Veracini named his violins Sts. Peter and Paul.
