Ooops!! How in the world could I have forgotten my Appalachian dulcimer and my Autoharp (especially the latter… Sister Gertrudis, my 2nd grade music teacher probably did a large in-her-grave-rollover @ this glaring omission)! My bad…

I can play the Acarena, the Sweet Potato, jews harp and the wash tub.
I can “get by” on the acoustic guitar. I play the radio very well and also the CD player.

I play the guitar, and occasionally don my harmonica (but that can get iffy, to be honest) I really want to learn to play the piano

Eamon

piano (since age 5)
French horn (although I haven’t really done more than take it out ocasionally and blow a few notes since high school)
recorder (just took it up about 4-5 years ago and play a lot with our parish choir now)
I also used to play baritone horn in the school marching band. (It beat trying to march with the French horn.)

I used to attend the symphony from time to time… I wonder if I’ve ever seen you???

…the Devil hates it when I play Ave Maria on my violin too (although for quite a different reason, I’m sure)…
Maybe you have. I wondered, is it a sin to play the “devil’s trill” sonata by Tartini on the violin?

Padre Pio “The Rosary is the weapon.”

not if you balance it with one of Biber’s “Rosary Sonatas”

i play french horn. and i’m offended you didn’t list it as an option.

😉

hey debeater - you, too, huh? is a baritone horn the same as a ‘bellfront’? that’s what i played in marching season…

I used to play the piano and recorder at school
Now I’m trying to learn the saxophone (still making horrible noises)
my husband plays bass guitar and the children between them play drums, guitar, violin and piano
I’m very proud of them:D

hi. i play the guitar, i’ve been playing since close to 3 years, now.
my first job was playing the guitar in a multiplex!! now i play the acoustic guitar for praise and worship in our youth group [youth for christ]. nothing gives me greater joy than using the talent for the kingdom. i know i’ll be playing in heaven someday, along some other greats who’ve given their service for the only service that makes sense [jesus’ cause!!] God dwells in the praises of his people, and i’m sure there are a lot of hallelujahs in every note, when you strum the guitar strings. If you listen carefully. play the notes with feel and you almost feel you’re already playing in heaven. i do. i know that it’s a poor man’s heaven, though, coz nothing comes close to the real thing, being there in the flesh - sorry, being there in the Soul !!! I urge you - musicians, singers, people with rhythm who still haven’t picked up an instrument - to dedicate that LITTLE bit of yourselves. Remember, God asks for 10 per cent of your earnings. if you’re an earning musician, well then… u gotta put in dat li’l 10 percent to the lord as well. play for him, play to him, remember david’s earnest when playing before saul?? even aftr getting a spear driven at his cerebral cortex and whatnot else!!!

Piano- Teacher.
Organ- Chruch musician.
Bass- Badly.
Clarinet- Even worse.
Bells- Starting a choir.
Steel drums- Over the summer.
Trombone- shivers Yuck! What was I thinking?
Drums- Snare only. Not coordinated enough for set.
Guitar- 3 chord country at best.

I think that’s it.

Have you ever played those before? Seriously, it would be a sin if I played the “Devil’s trill” sonata?

Patient: Doctor, I have a problem. My wife thinks she’s a piano!

Doctor: Well, bring her in.

Patient: Are you nuts? Do you know how hard it is to lift a piano?

Sorry, a joke I heard Gerry Matatics tell a long time ago in one of his talks. I play piano and guitar (van halen 80s style). Examples:

Peanuts 1
Peanuts 2
Satch Boogie

Phil P

Electric Bass, guitar, and I used to play violin and trumpet.

I play the fulte, clarinet, piano, and just about every brass instrument going. MY love however is the French horn. I learned it in 9th grade and played all through college. I still get it out an play once in awhile. I had the oppertunity to realize a dream last year, while staying at a Swiss hotel. Did you know Alp horns are over 20 feet long. Amazing! Plays just like a French Horn. What fun!

I have, variously, played trumpet, cornet, tuba, baritone horn, french horn, and fluegel horn.

Among these, my favorite was the fluegel horn. Those days are now gone, although there are many cherished memories.🙂
