I am begining to wonder if the story of Adam and Eve was written just so men and women would spend the next how many years blaiming each other for everything.😃 or trying to ā€œproveā€ to the other how it was or was not thier fault and why.

Mark Twain used to say that God made a mistake. Instead of forbidding the fruit, he should have forbidden the serpent - then Adam and Eve would have eaten the serpent.

šŸ˜‰

If you say so.🤷

*I keep thinking about what you keep saying about how Eve should have asked for help if she knew she could not handle the serpent and all I can say is…
speaking from my experience from my rape I thank God there were men who made sure I moved as far away from my rapist as I could and they also ensured he never came after me. I did not know what had just happened to me was rape or that I could even call it rape and I know, looking back on it now, that my rapist wanted this control over me for more than just a one time thing. If it had not been for this gentleman stepping into my life and protecting from my rapist and just waited for me to ask for his help then I know I would be stuck in a very controlling and abusive relationship right now. So I thank God for those who were not like Adam and did not just choose to just stand by and wait for me to ask for help in fighting of my demons and stepped up to the plate and helped me even though I had no clue what it was I needed help or protection from. This starts with Jesus Christ, a few gentlemen who stepped into my life to not only protect me from my rapist but also from the actions of my father and this thank you also goes out to those whom I have meat here at CAF and the Priests and Deacons at my church. They all knew I needed help and protection when I did not even have a clue about what demons I was trying to fight and did not even know I was fighting them and they stepped into my life to fight those demons with me and for me and I never even asked them too…they just did…I will always be eternally grateful for them defending me even though I did no ask them to…

In reading your posts you have renewed the gratefulness I have for them for not sitting back and waiting for me to ask for help and tried helping me and protecting me regardless…thank you for that…:)*
Your case is very different and you are taking my words to an extreme. All I said in the earlier post was that Eve could have asked for help. Now, of coarse Adam could have done more as well. The point I’ve been arguing from the beginning is that both equally messed up! Many of the other posters here seem to think the whole fall of man was Adam’s fault and he alone is guilty of sin! My point was that no, they shared the same sin.

Also, in asking for help, screaming and signs of emotional stress count! You don’t have to say ā€œcome protect meā€ to get help. In your case those guys clearly saw you needed help and freely (and rightly) offered it. There is no indication in the Bible however that Eve was under any sort of stress. In fact she seemed quite nonchalant about the whole thing by leading the conversation. The only sin either are guilty of is hubris (extreme pride). Anything else is just speculation and I don’t care who says it.

I do not believe I am the only one taking words to an extreem.

*I don’t believe the church thinks that but according to some posters around here men should sit back and wait for woman to ask men to support them, defend them or take care of them, so they can stay home and raise the kids.🤷

And here I have always thought self sacrificing and self giving of ones self for the protection and good or sake of another was supposed to be given freely…I often wonder if Jesus had waited around in heaven untill we decided to ask Him to come and save us and redeem us and protect us from the enemy, would He still be waiting for us to ask Him*.:o

One of the most beautiful things about my husband is I do not have to ask him to almost work himself to death to try and make ends meet and I know he would die trying to protect me and our children and I have never had to ask him to do this. it is just a part of who he is and if he sees me a bit scared or confused or hurting he is right there trying to help me with out me even asking for it…I so believe he is so Christ-likeā€¦ā¤ļø
I really don’t appreciate the snide and snarky misrepresentation of my words here. Guess what, most guys would do that with myself included! However if I had a wife that didn’t appreciate it, constantly pointed out my every fault and complained when I pointed out hers, and thought she was entitled to my efforts without respecting me in return I would not do squat for her.

Also, Christ’s gift was only free for those who believe in Him and respect His commandments. Christ’s love was conditionally unconditional! If you do not believe in Him then you do not get eternal life. If you do not follow His commandments well there is nice really hot place for you too. Jesus Himself talked of ā€œhellfire.ā€ Why would He do that if everyone was going to heaven?

I have not taken anyone’s word to the extreme. All I did earlier was point out that some posters had VERY unbalanced arguments and misrepresented Church teaching to support that unbalanced argument.

If you say so…I really do not understand your arguments about thier arguments any better. You bothe ā€œseemā€ to be saying kind of the same thing but in a way talking past each other. I believe MichaelHowling was able to pick up on that before you seem to be able to.

And you believe this is Christ-like?

As I believe Michaelhowling tried to point out to you it is when we refuse His unconditional love that we suffer hellfire. His love is always there and He laid down His life for us regardless if we accept His love or not.šŸ˜‰
The thing that is very different from you and my husband is that I am not a perfect wife. I do not allways trust him or love him as I should but he would still lay down his life for me regardless because he loves me.

To the first part: Yes, because if she rejects my love like we do to Christ then there is nothing I can do for her. She’s free to turn away from her ego and receive my love again but otherwise she’s on her own by her own choosing.

To the second part: And we can only receive His love when we respect Him. Nowhere did MichaelHowling point that out. All he did was go on a diatribe about how poor Eve fell only because of Adam. That was the only argument he ever made.

You are not Christ.

personlay I did not get that from what he said at all…exspecially after he tried clarifying it for you even further…

Exactly! Just a mere man so my love is that much less! I cannot do for her what Christ can. What is your point?
Yes but in order for us to accept Him and His Salvation we have to be like Him and follow Him even unto death.Or we could try to fight laying down our lives for one another because no one deserves that kind of sacrifice…Non of us deserved Him giving His life for us! No one! we are all sinners and disobediant and yet He still followed God’s Plan and gave us His life to sanctify us and save us. Adam did not lay down his life for Eve because he valued what he wanted more that what God wanted. ( I beleive that is what you said in an earlier post.)

First part: Maybe not such a bad idea. Then I wouldn’t have to tolerate her anymore and I’d get a free pass to heaven. God will have saved me from a wife that is like bad bones. Proverbs 12:4

Second part: Where did he clarify that? He went on for at least 5 posts dumping on Adam then in 1 or 2 he says ā€œoh I didn’t say Eve wasn’t culpable.ā€ LOL! He quite easily layed charge on Adam but didn’t exactly call Eve out on anything but he did say something to the effect that whatever Eve is guilty of she is guilty because of Adam. That is wayyyyyyy unbalanced and he never corrected that!

Fact remains, Christ’s sacrifice isn’t helping those who show no respect or belief in Him. When we stand at the gates He isn’t letting in those who denied Him in their lives. He didn’t make His sacrifice so non-believers and disrespectful human’s could live in paradise. We may all fall short but the important thing is that many of us at least try!

I would suggest going back and reading some of what he said bacause he did clarify that Eve was at fault also…*

Yes but he claims Eve fault was because of Adam’s. It would be like me blaming you for something I did wrong. There is a HUGE difference there. I read all his posts and he never said anything about Eve’s culpability being her own and on par with Adam’s!
