I am not trying to deminish the death, but the same year this happened, 17,029 citizens commited murder. That’s a murder rate of 5.68 per 100,000, but for that same year the alien murder rate would be .0083 per 100,000.

If the alien number were closer to the citizen number we would have had an additional 682 murders.

If the citizen number were closer to the alien number we would have had only 25 murders for the entire year!
Those numbers are off. There was a report on the news not too long ago that over 90% of murders in Los Angles alone were committed by illegal aliens.

I am using the year 2006 (the year of the posted article).

Not exactly. It is apparently true that 90 to 95 percent of outstanding arrest warrants for murder in L.A. County are for illegal aliens – but that does NOT represent all murder suspects, just the ones that are still at large or “wanted” at any given time (as opposed to already sitting in jail or out on bail awaiting trial). Since illegal aliens would be more likely to disappear back over the border it’s no surprise that they would account for a high percentage of fugitives from justice; but the actual percentages of total crimes attributable to illegals would be considerably lower.

Some of these figures are true, some are false, and others are subject to varying interpretations.

I once heard that 47% of all statistics are made up.

Even so, a crime was committed on me by an illegal alien about 15 years ago. Also just recently on friend of mine a week ago. Thats enough to get rid of them for me.

Funny thing: it hit me while in the shower today that I misquoted that statistic; it is 95% of all outstanding homicide warrants.

I was only kidding. I always used those lines with my debate students and it cracked them up.

Funny; my statistics professor in college always told me it was 38% were made up on the spot. 😃
Well the key to the joke is using a different number each time you use it. They eventually catch on.

I worked at a legal aid society that regularly pointed people with immigration issues to a nearby church (that obviously had legal counsel available).

I am wondering what role the church should have in the immigration status of alien residents?
Impartiality. It shouldn’t even become an issue. If you are ministering to another human being, then that is what you do REGARDLESS of social status.

This is the reason our silly open borders and bind admission to illegals is so ridiculous!!

"We’re moving to Mexico.

Dear Mr. President NObama:

I’m planning to move to Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me. I’m planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. Into Mexico, and I’ll need your help to make a few arrangements.

I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I’m sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I’m on my way down?

Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
  1. Free medical care.
  2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
  3. Please print all Mexican government forms in English.
  4. I want my grandkids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.
  5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture and history.
  6. I want my grandkids to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school.
  7. Please plan to feed my grandkids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
  8. I will need a local Mexican driver’s license so I can get easy access to government services and be able to vote.
  9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico, but, I don’t plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won’t make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.
  10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.
  11. I plan to fly the U.S. Flag from my house top, put US. Flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
  12. I want to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.
  13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say a critical things about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy.
  14. I want to receive free food stamps.
  15. Naturally, I’ll expect free rent subsidies.
  16. I’ll need Income tax credits so although I don’t pay Mexican Taxes, I’ll receive money from the government.
  17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Gov’t pays $4,500 to helpme buy a new car.
  18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican Social Security program so that I’ll get a monthly income in retirement.
I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all his people who come to the U.S. From Mexico. I am sure that President Calderon won’t mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.

Thank you so much for your kind help. You’re the man!!!

How our country should handle immigration and deal with immigrants of all kinds is a very important political and economic issue. But the Church does not deal with individuals as political or economic examples, but as children of our common Father. The Church should aid those in need without regard to immigration status, or any status. Isn’t this the point of the parable of the Samaritan?

They are illegal and to be handled like any ohter lawbreakers. Whether they are poor or not is irrelevant.

Yes…I agree that they are children of God, but if you carry your logic to its ultimate end, this country, if the person says he or she wants to come in here, must let (due to the “all God’s children” argument) all people in here, there will be no country, no laws, and we will bankrupt this nation (even more than we are now)—in a word–disaster for this nation. I mean, under your logic, whatever “God’s children” say they want–they get!, simply because they say “I need it.” They can sneak in here, trash the farms and land they cross over, steal SS #s, get low wages under the table, cheat people out of jobs who are on the “legal” immigration list, get free education for their kids, get free medical care—If that is what it takes to get the “Gods children” argument to work. Don’t Gods children have a duty to do ANYTHING?? How about God’s Bishops in the country, where they came from, FIXING the problem so God’s children from (let’s say) Mexico, dont feel they HAVE TO escape the country.
I have NO legal, Christian or national duty to illegals except make sure that I, or someone else (if I know), don’t sin against those persons, (abuse them) and make sure the people who gave them the carrott to entice them to come here (like the employers who know they are illegal and help the conspiracy) are punished so that it wont happen again.
This nation has no duty to take care of all the people who WANT to come here.
We dont have jobs, money, or anything else to give people who have violated the laws of this country. We cant satisfy the needs of everyone, individually or as a nation. Try this—Go Home and Fix Your Country Before You Ask…Not Demand…To Come Here !

While we can again argue the “lawbreaking” of the aliens, the topic does not necessarily imply illegal. The are millions of legal residents seeking assistance.
