What would you do if you won the lotto

anonymously claim the prize
Every ticket I’ve ever bought says you must consent to publicity if you win (in order to collect).
Where I live, all lotto winners retain their anonymity unless they themselves decide not to. They do not claim the prize publicly. We wouldn’t participate if publicity were required to collect, and I suspect many here feel the same way.

This reminded me I had a ticket from a few weeks back that I never checked, so I dug it out of my bag. I did not win 😦

In my state you can create a trust and the trust can claim the prize. Your identity does not have to be divulged.

I would tell my husband to retire immediately and pay off my daughters grad school loans. After that, not sure, but would definetly talk to a lawyer.

I’ll go to Chile’s and order a chicken fajita. Too bad that Applebee’s ended their endless chicken tenders special.

Not tell anyone bar my wife. Don’t make any sudden changes but gradually make some changes. New car, buy a house, pay off loans.

I’d probably invest in property so that I’d be comfortable for life.

And I’d give some to the local Dominicans and my parents.

Well, probably not brand new. I’d never buy brand new. Nearly new though. One that people could believe that I’d be able to afford.

Probably use most of it to set up a scholarship fund for catholic schools around the world. And probably travel to every beach I possibly can.

I wouldn’t mind telling people. I’m good at saying no and setting boundaries.

Also I’m glad I don’t have any debt so I can just spend it however I please

This only applies in certain states and jurisdictions. Many US states have for some time been allowing winners, at least for big jackpots, to remain anonymous if they choose to do so, and most choose that to avoid getting harassed and threatened by people trying to get money.

Changing my number and blocking calls isn’t so hard.

Also I’m gonna move anyway.

I would be quite safe being surrounded by Elite Bodyguards…

Maybe I’d invest in a hundred KFC franchises, and a hundred Chick-Fil-A franchises, and a hundred Popeye Chicken franchises.
