Where I live, all lotto winners retain their anonymity unless they themselves decide not to. They do not claim the prize publicly. We wouldn’t participate if publicity were required to collect, and I suspect many here feel the same way.
In my state you can create a trust and the trust can claim the prize. Your identity does not have to be divulged.pensmama87:

This only applies in certain states and jurisdictions. Many US states have for some time been allowing winners, at least for big jackpots, to remain anonymous if they choose to do so, and most choose that to avoid getting harassed and threatened by people trying to get money.
Then prepare to get tons of calls and mails and emails from total strangers with hard luck stories 24/7, some of whom are likely to be violent or mentally ill. Some lottery winners have been killed.
In Ireland you don’t have to go public.
