šŸ‘ OH! And Spongebob rocks! I donā€™t think heā€™s creepy looking at all. I think heā€™s adorable! I adore his laugh.

You gotta love Spongebob! šŸ‘

One of my faves was Calvin & Hobbes; unfortunately, I think the artist stopped producing it. Iā€™m more than a little miffed when I see those ā€œCalvinā€ lookalike decals on car/truck windows: you know the ones ā€“ where heā€™s always made to appear as though heā€™s urinating on something

I also enjoy a little strip called Drabble: itā€™s delightfully goofy.

We donā€™t get it in our local paper, but I used to read Gasoline Alley. What made it interesting was that the characters actually grew up and grew old (the first strip in which they did so), but I donā€™t recall anyone dying. Iā€™m sorry to say that the character of ā€œWalt Walletā€ would not be in very good health by now (he must be at least 100), and should be due to go to that Great Funny Paper in the Sky.

Everyone has real great taste. Iā€™d like to echo a few of some of the other posters.

Garfield: Growing up and to some degree to, I still love Garfield. Grew up reading him. Heā€™s been around as long as Iā€™ve been alive. šŸ˜ƒ

Far Side : How on earth can you go wrong with this one?

Calvin & Hobbes :This will mist likely be in my top three of all time favorites. Sure was a sad day in the cartoon world when this one ended. :crying: :crying:

Bloom County :Opus and the gang never ceased to crack me up, especially Sunday mornings.

B.C : Always good for a laugh.

Foxtrot : Jason with his fascination with Sci Fi and his pet iguana šŸ˜ƒ

Lately I have really got into Pickels
This one has really got me laughing lately. If you havenā€™t seen it yet you should. Be sure to read through the archives
Pickles

Foxtrot - youngest is my computer-nerd son
Luann & Zits - dead ringers for teen daughter
Rose is Rose
Sylvia
Non Sequiter
Get Fuzzy - didnā€™t like it at first, but it grows on you!
Pickles - wish we got it the local paper - I miss it
Mutts - always sweet!

A friend with an older teen son loves Zits. She would read one that was just like her ds, show it to him, & heā€™d say Huh? Didnā€™t get the joke at all!

When I was growing up it was Peanuts, but now itā€™s Foxtrot. The eternal battle of Paige and Jason cracks me up. Iā€™ve tried to read Mallard Fillmore, but it seems so smug and whiny, IMO. Oh, and Luann is good sometimes.

Calvin & Hobbes

Amen to that. I am appalled that Calvin & Hobbes wasnā€™t among the choices in the poll! Greatest. Comic. Ever.

Aside from that, Iā€™m also a big fan of Zits, The Far Side, In The Bleachers, and Pearls Before Swine (relatively new).

Family Circus - Bill Keane is Catholic šŸ˜ƒ

Liked For Better or for Worse until they started the gay stuff-ugh! Also the recent, ā€œYouā€™re having a 2nd child - are you crazy?!ā€ theme lately - more ugh!

Sally Forth - although Iā€™m not a working mom, I can relate to spending quality time with oneā€™s spouse in Home Depot, and biting the ears off the chocolate Easter bunny - yum!

Zits - itā€™s like they are spying on my 16yo before writing the strip šŸ˜‰

Donā€™t watch cartoons - they rot your brain :whacky: (or at least thatā€™s what I tell my kids and Iā€™m sticking to itā€¦)

Get Fuzzyā€¦

Unfortunately The Far Side and Calvin and Hobbes are no more, because Spaceman Spiff should have had a strip all to himself.

Current: Dilbert and Rose is Rose.

Classic: The Far Side and Calvin & Hobbes.

If there was more room to list categories, Calvin and the Far Side would have been on there.
Besides, not having them on there, has created a great discussion here!

Personally, I never ā€œgotā€ C & H, and with all the Calvin stickers doing you-know-what on the back of peopleā€™s windshields, Iā€™d be quite glad to see it sink into oblivion.

Do like "The Far Side.ā€™ Our local paper ran some Far Side ā€œrerunsā€ last December and had to run a disclaimer for at least a week after saying, no, itā€™s not coming back. Guess they were getting a lot of response.

Have you seen todayā€™s B.C. Comic strip.
Your thoughts?

P.S. It was too large to paste here.

I havenā€™t seen our local paper yet, but on my yahoo! homepage, the ā€œunder Godā€ cell was blank. :hmmm: Am curious to see how the papers handle it.

Debbie - I thought the blank panel was intentional. It gets a message across.

I really like Get Fuzzy. An interesting assorment of personalities.
