Where is the Catholic outrage over recent American immigration policies?

No. That Ninth Circuit case said the government can’t do that. They can’t be held by ICE at all. That’s why they are turned over to HHS. HHS can’t detain the adults.

So, Trump’s choices aren’t very good. The U.S., through at least two other administrations, struggled to deal with it; sometimes by doing just what Trump is doing; sometimes by just releasing the adults and children together into the U.S., where they disappear.
 
Woman with 4 Children, 48 Lbs. of Meth Arrested

Officers arrested the woman for narcotics smuggling and turned her over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations. CBP officers also seized the drugs and vehicle, the minor children were turned over to a family member. ( they were separated)

I know they can’t do that-thank God. A child should be safe and comfortable, not locked up for 6 months -2 years in prison.

The solution is for President Trump to be removed from office and his family at least exiled if not impoverished and jailed or executed.

Then they’ll forget all about these asylees, refugees, immigrants and do whatever they think is best.

Which is likely to be the same thing as is happening now, but since no one will be paying attention, people will no longer be outraged
 
Which is why we should get to the heart of the matter. It all revolves around DRUGS.

If our government really cared we would stop the flow of drugs entering the country, sanction individuals and states that support the cartels, and militarily strike the cartels.

  • human smuggling - child will be separated
What has changed is they no longer exempt whole classes and now are treating everyone the same.

This is pretty much why they are fleeing those countries. The selfish attitudes of some are making the lives of others miserable. The bankers and Hollywood stars who snort cocaine and etc.

ROFL - The very reason we seperate Children from their parents is expressly because of human dignity.

The parents broke the law, not the kids.
A judge rightly ruled they should be kept in the least restrictive environment

Surely you wouldn’t advocate such a solution? That’s basically what the Bolsheviks did to Tsar Nicholas II of Russia!

Trump isn’t the problem. There are powers far greater than him that are manipulating world events. At the very least people should blame Congress.
 
Personally, I believe that the UN is probably one of the most corrupt and crooked institutions ever conceived by man. It stands for Nothing.

When an person is prosecuted for illegal entry he is taken into custody by US Marshals. Nowhere in the US do the marshals care for the children of the people they take into custody. The options are these: “catch and release” anyone entering the US with a child, incarcerate the parent but not the child, incarcerate the parent and the child. What is happening to illegals is in no way different from what happens everywhere else in the US when an adult is arrested for a violation of the law. I’m pretty sure civics classes cover that concept.

They are turned over to HHS and cared for.

10,000 of the 12,000 were sent here by their parents. It is those parents who did the separating. and sent with strangers, smugglers, etc…

We now care for them.
