Where is the Catholic outrage over recent American immigration policies?

I believe the recent heavier, more even enforcement of this policy is for this reason. Discouragement.
from what our dioceses has come to understand, the head of the Chicago office implemented the family-splitting raids in Ohio to instill fear.

That’s evil.

This is a gross oversimplification of the choices these people are faced with.
It’s rather insulting.
No. Many are simply bad people and will do bad things to get in here. A whole bunch have been deported over and over.

It’s not insulting to expect people to follow the laws of another nation. Not at all.
Not the point.

It’s insulting to think that someone would simply overlook the safety of their family by coming here under duress.
It’s just not that simple.

Well let me say that I know about 30 of these people and their children, and you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Are they? In the articles I have seen, it’s one bishop; possibly four more, but uncertainly so.

And I don’t think any have said what their solution is.

I didn’t know U.S. citizens had a Constitutional right to push their way into other countries and stay there. Interesting!

So kids should go to prison with adults-maybe even violent criminals. What could possibly go wrong?

I think there’s plenty on CAF. This is probably the eighth thread on the child separation policy.

Did they break the law to get in America?
No, they didn’t. You don’t know what you are talking about (just like your diatribes against mainstream science.
And so you shouldn’t say things like this:
Many are simply bad people and will do bad things to get in here.
That is insulting and un-Christian.
You should retract your words.

Some articles say this started under Obama and was worse in 2014. And other people are saying that Trump is making is worse.
Whether or not the laws were passed under Obama or not the fact remains: this is the law. What is happening under this administration is that the law is being enforced. There are really no good options here, including the “catch and release” policy that was standard before, but no executive ought to feel free to enforce the laws he approves of and ignore the ones he doesn’t.

I’m not in favour of open borders for my country or yours but the practice of separating children unnecessarily is unjust.

The media spoke to a Homeland Security big wig on TV yesterday, and he talked about an MS 13 character who they pinched at the border last week. The MS 13 associate had a 1 year old child in tow, thinking it would get him released into the general population of the US.

There are bad people among the refugees

This policy can be ended by one phone call from the President. He is using these moms and kids as bargaining chips to get his wall.
The policy is enforcing laws that were not being enforced.

It is the law. Are we so used to presidents selectively enforcing laws that we think this is a good thing?

So far, all I’ve heard is people regurgitate what the media is spouting. What’s the solution? Every solution I come up with is wrong. Personally, I believe people like to virtue signal then walk away shaking their head.
