Where to buy candles for the Three Days of Darkness?

The beeswax is just incidental, the true meaning is that you must burn with a natural love of God. For example people focus on points like the Neophilia but God’s Will will be done no matter what. So our most important duty is to be devoted to God.
Code:
And if your soul burns with love of God, you will be a light for the World in the time of tribulation. We are living in a Dark Time.

Keep your lamp wick trimmed & your lamp full of oil, the Bridegroom is coming and all here want to be prepared.

Please remember I am not suggesting anything other than obtaining beeswax candles from our Sister Orthodox Churches. Maybe there is a lesson in this. Instead of ascending to understanding the Primacy of the Holy See of Rome in understanding they cling to material objects. Bees, honey bees are even rare now.

I got my beeswax candles & my Rosary. I am prepared but 3 days? I fear that the effects of this Chastisement will last for months. Israel may ignite the fuse on WWIII. But God can make His own. Look after the Supreme Court upheld ObamaCare as constitutional at this wonderful display of lightening. ObamaCare is as spiritually pleasing to God as HitlerCare was to me; but hey I don't know a thing. El communisto presidente of the Obamanation, one country facing serious troubles, ununited, divided, & governed by laws that do not reflect God at all. On Hogan's Heros Shultz would say "I see nothing, I see nothing" and apparently our politicians "see nothing" too.

IF there is, for example, a solar flare, this will create toxic amounts of ozone and by-products of sun-scorched stuff. Stay inside close to the ground and light that blessed 100% beeswax candle. Who’s to say? We may arise to a brave new world where all the video of Gilligan’s Island is erased.

A lot of approved Saints and Mystics have foretold the Three Days of Darkness, such as Padre Pio, Bl. Anna-Maria Taigi, Elizabeth Canori-Mora, Rosa-Colomba Asdente, Palma d’Oria, in Italy; Father Nectou, in Belgium; St. Hildegard, in Germany; Pere Lamy, Marie Baourdi, Marie Martel, Marie-Julie Jahenny, in France etc etc!

It also has biblical sources; Jesus Himself describes similar conditions which will happen just after the Great Tribulation and before the Second Coming of Christ:

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Mat.24:29-31).

No-one knows when, but Padre Pio has given a list of the signs that will herald this event.
I think that is why it is being talked about so much now, because the signs are all being fulfilled in our times.

sorry if i haven’t followed all the posts here. i know i should be the least to ask information about the 3 days of darkness because i’m one of the lost, but i remember reading on a catholic bible book (which we had when i was at school for my religion lesson) that first it’s the martydom of people who refuse the mark later the 3 days of darkness…which will kill the people who have taken the mark. am i right? correct me if i’m wrong…write back

I’m in two minds about it. The thing that makes me feel that it might be true is because it’s been prophesied by so many people, and not just Catholics. It’s been prophesied by the saints, yes, and that’s the most important part. However, it is also mentioned in Islam. It is mentioned in New Age circles as well, where it is referred to as the “Ascension.”

The first time I even heard about the three days of darkness was during my time in the New Age. After my conversion to Catholicism, I was really surprised to hear certain saints talking about it too. Remember, there is a little bit of Truth in everything… I wouldn’t dismiss it off-hand.

Ok rewind…what…three days of darkness? When? What? How?!!
Ever since I was a small child, my mom warned me about the 3 days of darkness which would happen in my lifetime. She said it is a sign of the ‘rapture’, when there will be a ‘dark’ leader. She said that I must always keep a stock of candles for this 3 days, and that ‘Lucifer’, (who can change his appearance into anything) will be loose in the streets, stealing souls, I guess. She made me promise that I would not open my door for anyone, including her, no matter what during the 3 dark days, and to pray. I’ve begun storing water and food as much as I can. Tomorow I’m off for candles, didn’t know about the 51% beeswax thing though.

This sounds a little too Evangelical Fundamentalist Christian to me. I think the best protection we can have to such an event if it is physical rather than metaphorical is to make sure the light of the soul is shining and in a state of grace. No harm having some blessed candles in stock, no harm weather there is such a thing as the three days or not. No harm regularly saying the Rosary either. If you are led by the holy spirit you will be alright then and will be warned of any impending danger.

Saying that I do not disregard the Prophecy of Blessed Anna Maria Taigi.

I tried google & got a lot of different explanations but this one above sums it up.

Doesn’t sound like a thing God would do…
This prophecy has been mentioned by many of the Saints, even Padre Pio.

I understand the not looking outside during the 3days, and to cover all windows… As like that in Sodom & Gomorrah. God does not want His faithful to see His wrath. However, if His faithful are caught outside, they will be with God.

Definitely an intriguing Prophecy…

SO VERY TRUE!!! Sadly, so many do not understand this… The best of lies is that which holds Truth… Just a slight change, (i.e. Jesus isn’t the only way"), and that is all it takes to lead someone away from the Light of God :(.

Padre Pio, and others, prophesied these 3 Days of darkness… Though, that is interesting that so many other beliefs have similar; that I did not know. IMHO, having a Blessed Beeswax candle in ones home (which is also the only candles used in our Catholic Churches), would be a good thing, and if this is accurate, then one is prepared… 🙂

I heard of a three days of darkness kit. You must light candles, pray constantly and do not go or look outside. Oh yeah and if you hear your relatives or friends begging to be let in…zombies.

Bump. Forgive me for bringing back this thread but I thought it better than unnecessarily creating a new one.

I’ve seen a lot of heckling towards the private revelation but I think it warrants a closer look. Setting aside, Blessed Anne Marie Taiga, and the rumored accounts of Padre Pio, we SHOULD consider that this IS very truly mentioned in St. Faustina’s Divine Mercy In My Soul. While we cannot be obliged to believe private revelations we should take into account that the Church does hold this series of Apparitions in very high credence. I take this alone to be enough evidence for me to believe in this. As I already mentioned above, we don’t HAVE to, but since this has such high approval it is worth keeping in mind. The Three Days, in Mother Church’s judgement could be a very real possibility.

It’s hard to tell how much truth there is in any of these so called prophecies. There are lot of reputable names tossed out there, but are they just being mentioned randomly or have they confirmed or has it appeared in their official writings ???

Having lived through many black outs, some lasting for days, it is a good idea to have a few candles around. whether or not they need to be blessed… may border on superstition… suppose i am trapped in my home and all I have are unblessed candles, will they still work… I suspect they will…😃

Now IF I’m in a black out and I hear my neighbor knocking on my door and I refuse to help him out, am I not being a bit uncharitable ??? IF I open the door, will God really strick me down for trying to keep my neighbor ??? Now IF GOD tells me specifically that I can not let anyone in no matter what, then I will leave the door locked. BUT I don’t see God talking directly to me any time soon… I could be wrong but I don’t think so. Sorry if I sound a bit skeptical, but I am.

I’ll say it again: would Our Lord chastise the world? Certainly a possibility. We deserve it these days.

Would He allow a way around it (ie, candles that work)? Maybe.

Would he allow an innocent 7 year old who just had her first Communion, was in a State of Grace and knew nothing about the prophecy to walk outside and be zapped dead?

Does that sound like Him to you?

Luigi,

I'm pretty sure that if a 7 year old was in the state of grace and knew nothing about the prophecy, that God would save her some way (maybe- I comment more about this below).
Your thinking is faulty here. God can work around what one does not know. I’m remembering some stories about people having things come up that diverted them from suffering some trauma. They credit the Holy Spirit or guardian angels, etc.

Also, maybe it was her time to go? Does the prophecy say those who would be killed when outside are those who will go to hell? (I’m asking because I don’t remember)

Death is not the end for Christian believers. Its not even a punishment in anyway as many innocent saints have been murdered. God allowed it. It was their time.

In saying all this, I’m not saying that I fully believe in the prophecy either. We cant know God’s ways since they are so far above us, and so many might not understand or see how this prophecy can be true.

OK, let me try this another way.🙂

I just can not believe that this prophecy is true, at least in the walk outside and be zapped dead application. The only other time that something of this magnitude was in Noah’s flood, and the Father promised He wouldn’t allow something like that again.

Given that, the Three Days would have to come at the end of the world. Why bother with blessed candles, then? They would only be buying you 3 days of light; one can certainly pray in the dark. 😉

He came to save many who did not/don’t know Him. A complete Gift. Why would he make this time of inner examination “tricky”, so that even those who have chosen Him are punished through no fault of their own? An innocent walks outside on minute 1 of the three days and is zapped, gaining nothing from this time of grace. It just doesn’t ring true.

Having said all that, I do believe (even hope) that there will be a 3 Days of Darkness to wake up the world (me included). I just don’t believe in the embellishments. Three days of purification as a prelude to an era of peace, then the Second Coming? Yup. The rest: nope.

The world as we know it is going to end! For each and every one of us…one day, we will all die and leave our earthly existence. Instead of worrying about beeswax candles, letting in zombies and such, we need to all repent of the sin in our lives, because we do not know when our time is up. Even if there is a 3 days of darkness, all the blessed candles in the world aren’t going to save us if we are still choosing mortal sin over what the Church teaches.

Perhaps a spiritual three days of darkness… Perhaps in little ways. A still small voice.

When I first read the title of this thread I thought it referred to a type of fasting. It’s not a bad idea to turn off the lights and electronics for 3 days.

Sounds like a Catholic version of the rapture. I’ve noticed that people who believe and talk about the rapture seem to get excited about it. I guess Catholics want to have something exciting too.
The rapture is a piece of fiction written by two Christian ministers. The key word is FICTION.
