It looks like its a transparency over a crosspatch background. Also notice the lack of wear and tear one would expect of a document of 40+ years.
I would just like it to be decided by days end, which theory (the forgery theory, the adoption theory, the maternal age theory, the never born at all theory etc.) is going to prove me absolutely right in condemning the president’s actions (of releasing that document) this morning. Holding the highest office in the land demands guts 24/7/31/12 x4!

Too funny. Maybe a poll is necessary. I predict the Forgery Theory. It fits the mold. I have not heard the never born at all theory. So this is all a grand illusion. His real name is Mandrake Obama! Your probably too young to get that reference. The President’s intestinal fortitude or lack thereof is for another thread.

Just thought I’d throw that one into the mix after all it seems anyone is allowed to dream up a reason Obama’s not American and that reason must be respected (not just about the right to hold any old opinion but to have that opinion given real weight and serious consideration)

Is that Mandrake as in the the magician? And how would you guess my age group; don’t you need a long form birth certificate for that? 😉 Let’s just say most of us on this board are old enough to know better about a lot of stuff we indulge in regardless.

Ok. Did a spit take on that one. Funniest comment of the day thus far. Kuddos. I have many thoughts on the first part of your post but will refrain from commenting for fear of being characterized as uncharitable. As I said earlier, I find this thread and topic very amusing.

Too funny. Mind exploding with mental images. Thanks.

ps. I can’t stop laughing. Trying get final days work done with tears in my eyes. People in office think I’m crazy.

I work with graphic arts. I can honestly say that this document is more than likely real. I will also say that there has been some attempts to make the document more readable after scanning. I have done this in photoshop myself for documents I’ve scanned. For example, I might adjust levels to make the document more true to black and white in order to make the letters stand out. Certain portions of the document might not have scanned as dark, and I might isolate that section into another layer to adjust the levels and other image adjustments. I might also then remove the background in order to get a pure white… especially if the background had too many patchy gray areas. That would necessitate me placing the text into a separate layer.

What I would have done (that they did not do), was combine the layers before saving the image as a PDF file. That was probably the result of someone in a hurry who saved too quickly (or doesn’t know what they are doing).

No, I do not think this was the result of the OCR process. The big tip off is the patterned background that has been inserted to make the document look nice. You can see where the document was stored in a book and falls off on the left hand side. I’d have removed that if I could or left it in it’s entirety to include the signature portion. The person who did the clean up removed that part of the scan.

I would guess the original document was on plane white paper that had yellowed and faded enough that the scanner could not pick up the text without some fading. Why they felt the need to include that green patterned background is beyond me?

I’ve been doing some reading and some of the sources are not great, but one claim caught my attention. Again, the source is not great, since that person quoted Wikipedia. Anybody have any clarification? Here is the quote (and oddly the source is in the middle of it rather than at the end, but I’ll excerpt it in blue below as I found it).

"…Considering the name for the hospital listed on the birth certificate listed was not so named until 1978!!!

The name on the hospital of the birth certificate is listed as Kapiolani. But the name of the hospital in 1961 was:

Kauikeolani Children’s Hospital

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kapiolani_Medical_Center_for_Women_and_Children

Kauikeolani Children’s Hospital opened in 1909 named for Emma Kauikeolani Napoleon Mahelona (1862–1931), the wife of Albert Spencer Wilcox (1844–1919).[1] In 1978, it merged with Kapiʻolani Maternity Home to become Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women and Children.[2][3][4]"…

By reading this thread: You will find

1 I proved the Long Form exist - against commentators who stated different.
2 I proved that Mr Obama could get a copy of the Long Form - against commentators who stated different.
3 I proved that there is a difference between a Certification of Birth" and a Certificate of Live Birth" - against commentators who stated different.
👍 👍 👍

I see Fox is doing the: ‘those who see race in this controversy are playing the race card’ dance. No one can do it like Fox: anyone who claims racial discrimination is playing the race card therefore anyone can be free to discriminate based on no other conceivable reason than race and act outraged when they are called on it…there, said it all in one sentence; now, I’m breathless as well as dizzy…

Whatever happened to calling a spade a spade?

So, in deference to the superiority of your legal understanding versus mine, are there still legitimate outstanding issues that bring in to questions Mr. Obama’s citizenship? If so what would they be in your opinion.
Assuming the document is genuine, no. He was born in America to and American mother. He is a natural born American citizen.

Still doesn’t answer the question:

Who is Barack Obama?

Time to give it up, folks.

Okay. I agree, Wikipedia is not a good source. That is why I looked further. The source below, the hospital webpage, is a much better source. See excerpt below, with the most relevant info bolded.

"A Century of Care for Hawaii’s Women and Children

This is the story of two hospitals: Kauikeolani Children’s Hospital and Kapi‘olani Maternity Home.

Concerned about the welfare of Hawaii’s mothers, Queen Kapi‘olani held luau and bazaars to raise the $8,000 needed to open Kapi‘olani Maternity Home in 1890. She endowed her legacy with “Kulia i ka nu‘u” or “Strive for the highest.”

In 1908, Albert and Emma Kauikeolani Wilcox donated $50,000 to start a children’s hospital. The community, concerned that two of every seven infants in Hawai‘i did not live to see their first birthday, rallied to match the Wilcox’s gift. **A year later, Kauikeolani Children’s Hospital opened.

The two hospitals joined in 1978 to become Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children**. Staying true to its mission, the non-profit hospital has played a vital role in the health of Hawaii’s women, children and adolescents. It is staffed with highly skilled, compassionate physicians and nurses, dedicated to providing the finest care for Hawaii’s families:"…

And your point is?

Your president. Elected in 2008. Don’t like it, you can leave.

My cousins — the white power racists in the south – say just cuz (racist slur for African American) has a birth certificate, don’t mean a (racist slur for African American) can rule over white people. I hope you don’t agree.

Let’s raise a glass to Lincoln and the Union who freed the US from slavery. 👍

Okay, I think I am getting all the names straight.

Obama’s certificate indicates he was born at the Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital in 1961. I guess Kapiolani Maternity Home was called that in 1961?

Kauikeolani Children’s Hospital and Kapiolani Maternity Home merged in 1978 to become Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children.

Different topic for a different thread. I wouldn’t raise a buttcheek for Lincoln, let alone a glass. I am not a white supremist and I have no intention of going anywhere. Yes, he is my President, and I am going to work as hard as I can to make sure that he is no longer my President in 2 years.

You answered the question “What is Barack Obama?” You didn’t give me any indication that even you know WHO he is.

Wow.

What does this have to do with Obama’s BC?
