I suspect many of them could just take the subway to their parents homes in uptown Manhattan. But maybe they can’t get free weed at home, and they’re just having more fun in the park.

Darn fleabaggers.

I hate it when they start talking about the imminence of violence.

Buy “Demonic”

It describes peaceful actions and also mob behavior.

www.anncoulter.com

excerpt from current column on the mobs today: [more than 1700 comments … many of which are excellent]

The very reason we have a constitutional republic is because of a mob uprising. Soon after the American Revolution, Shays’ Rebellion so terrified and angered Americans that they demanded a federal government capable of crushing such mobs.

For nearly 200 years, Americans understood that they lived in a country capable of producing bad politicians and bad policies, but that it was subject to change through peaceful, democratic means. There was no need to riot or storm buildings because we didn’t have a king. We had a representative government.

Even when injustice existed, there were constitutional mechanisms to right wrongs.
For nearly a century after the Civil War, congressional Republicans kept introducing bills that implemented the civil rights amendments – only to be blocked by segregationist Democrats. But then, attorney Thurgood Marshall came along and began winning cases before the Supreme Court, redeeming black Americans’ constitutional rights through the judiciary.

As long as a Republican sat in the White House, those victories were enforced. In 1957, President Dwight D. Eisenhower sent the 101st Airborne to Little Rock, Ark., to walk black children to school in defiance of the segregationist, Democratic governor of Arkansas, Orval Faubus – Bill Clinton’s friend.

This is what our Constitution was designed for: to use the force of the federal government to uphold the law when the states couldn’t (Shays’ Rebellion) or wouldn’t (segregationist Democrats).

If Richard Nixon had won the 1960 election instead of John F. Kennedy – as some say he did – there never would have been a need for Rosa Parks, the Freedom Rides and the rest of the civil disobedience of the civil rights movement.

But as soon as the Democrats got control of the White House, enforcement of the Supreme Court’s civil rights rulings came to a crashing halt. Elected Democrats in the states were free to violate legitimate constitutional rulings without interference from Democratic presidents.

The ingenious system given to us by our founding fathers faltered on the morally corrupt obstructionism of elected Democrats. They simply refused to abide by the rules – with glee at the state level, and at the federal level, cowardice.

Here, finally, was an appropriate case for nonviolent protest. There hasn’t been another justification for civil disobedience in this country until the Supreme Court invented a “right” to abortion in Roe v. Wade – another act of lawlessness by liberals.

(All this and more is detailed in the smash best-seller, “Demonic: How the Liberal Mobs Are Endangering America”!)

Now liberals compare their every riot, every traffic blockage, every Starbucks-window-smashing street protest to the civil rights movement –- which was only necessary because of them. These “Occupy Wall Street” ignoramuses seem to imagine they are blacks living in 1963 Alabama under Democratic governor George Wallace.

To the contrary, the Wall Street protesters have no specific objections and no serious policy proposals in a country that is governed, as Abraham Lincoln put it, “by the people.” They protest because they enjoy creating mayhem, not because the law is being ignored or their rights violated without penalty by government officials.

They are not in the tradition of the tea partiers, much less our founding fathers. They are not in the tradition of the civil rights movement or Operation Rescue. They are in the tradition of Shays’ Rebellion, the Weathermen and Charles Manson.

Amen,

OWS is a Vague assault on Capitalism. The Weathly and Capitalism are not the countrys problem. The Socialist attitutude slickly promoted by Obama and the Democrats and backed by the US banker of China is the issue.

To attack the wealthy in the country does exactly what to help the poor? Maybe economy and the real idea of how to actually make this work ought to studied instead of a non-Christian ignorant attitude promoted by the utterly foolish movement. Which if promoted with any success will only help destroy religious freedom based democracy.

They want FREE-AID, Where in the world does FREE-AID work or where has is ever worked? The seriously poor countrys of Africa don’t even want Free-Aid anymore. The want to build small-business, keep their money in their country and feed themselves and their own economy to build it through the inner-free trade. Religious Freedom is the fundemental issue being undermined and its coming here next following this path. There is no Democracy without this. Capitalism becomes Socialism and a basic dictatorship. As we see elsewhere like Democracy promoted in Egypt without the basis of Religious Freedom.

There in no left or right today. There is incorrect thinking designed to change Capitalism and the correct thinking. The Democrats in office who would promote Abortion and call it Womens Rights and promote the idea this is a 50-year war which in direct conflict with what women liberation has accomlished, are insane. What have women accomplished in 50-years but to be the world-wide target of abuse in what became destruction of the family, worldwide rape, abuse, slavey, sexual exploitation, Domestic Violence, and widespread abortion. And those few who have “correctly” accomplised an admirable claim to independence will be quickly silenced on this path . Where are women triving??? Women are under assault worldwide.

You will be the last place in the world where Christianity has a voice. If you don’t use it now, you will also lose that. This country is not owned by America anymore. You just live in a country thats bankrupt. How do you wonderfully suppose a bankrupt economy will care for you? Like China cares for its religious freedom?

You want change? Go to Washington and ask your President why he choose’s a Socialist agenda and cooperates with the evil of genocide through federal funding of Abortion. Why he chose’s to attack anything which looks like capitalism? And continues to destroy the economy to work with his one world marketing system which he somehow bought into. The very issue’s you scream about basically your President proposed, promoted, and cooperated with through his party/backers and their manipulation.

The real problem is the Democrats in office on their non-American agenda, and it will silence the Christianity here. Look around the world, close. And tell me what you see. You’re allowing a great counrty to be destroyed without a war. Thats all this is. All Christians are basically gone in the middle east. Russia has their wonderful leader back for 8-years. The church is underground in China and persecuted, Failure to embrace Christianity by large in Europe has caused a vacuum. And so it is here now. And look what is has created in a short 50-years

They have no-clue what they are asking for on wall-street, and it is 100% against what Catholics are looking to do with Religious Freedom, Family, Abortion, and educating the poor instead of free Aid with no real basis to it. The largest social servive in the private sector is the Catholic Church here. Obamas laws are already choking what little funding the church is given to operate in this area.

I find it amazing any of them would come here looking for sympathy while cooperating with evil. They are lost and their thinking is whats destroying this country. Not crooks who make strident clamor has always been here from prohibition to drug-traffic to white-collar crime.

NOT ONE SOLUTION TO ANY PROBLEM HAS ARRIVED:shrug: The Vague target of Capitalism is the best they’ve arrive at:shrug: They are lost.

And you wonder “why” Japan has no use for Obama? They want NONE of this!!

It seems Brookfield Properties who owns “Liberty Plaza” will be putting the kybosh on OWS. They’ll be cleaning up the park from the wear and tear from the last 4 weeks and implementing new rules which will not allow overnight camping, tents, sleeping bags, sitting around, lying around at Zuccotti Park anymore anymore. Bloomberg talking out of both sides of his mouth where he supports the 1st ammendment, but is facilitating shuffling off the protesters.

Thank you all for engaging in peaceful discussion. One of the factors that have many of the occupy protestors frustrated is how many of the big bank CEO’s pay continued to rise while having to accept million dollar bank bail outs. Americans also started to live outside of their means and taking on large amounts of debt they couldn’t afford to pay back and banks giving out as many of the loans that they did. Financial responsibility should be on everyone’s part.
The Tea Party is just as upset about these things as OWS, but the Tea Party didn’t poop on police cars and have sex in public as part of their demonstrations. They didn’t take ads out on Craigslist offering to pay people to protest.

Some interesting numbers posted by Juan Cole on OWS

Brookfield Properties, the owner of Zucotti Park* where the Occupy Wall Street protesters have been gathered for weeks, is insisting on “cleaning” its property on Friday. Although New York mayor Michael Bloomberg has said that the protesters would be allowed to return thereafter, New York City police chief Raymond Kelly has warned that they would not be allowed to bring back sleeping bags or any camping equipment. Bloomberg, one of America’s 400 billionaires, has expressed fears that protests directed at banks would cause the banks to stop lending (out of pique?) and so would hurt jobs growth. Bloomberg is the mayor of New York, but you wonder if he would be if he had not poured tens of millions of his own money into his campaigns. In short, the 1% is mobilizing against the 99% in the park.*

Percentage of Americans who approve of Occupy Wall Street: 54

Percentage of Americans who say that the gap between the rich and the poor has grown too large: 79

Percentage of Americans who say the rich should pay more in taxes: 68

Percentage of Americans who approve of the Tea Party: 27

Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s ranking in Forbes’ list of the 400 richest Americans: 8

Bloomberg’s net worth: $20 billion

Amount Bloomberg spent of his own fortune on his two mayoral campaigns in New York: $159 million

Percentage of all US economic growth in past decade that went to the top 1% of income earners: 65

The combined net worth of the 400 wealthiest Americans, as measured by Forbes magazine in 2007: $1.5 trillion

The combined net worth of the poorer 50 percent of American households in 2007: $1.6 trillion

Number of times Bloomberg promised that the Occupy Wall Street protesters could “stay indefinitely”: 1

Average salaries in New York’s securities* industry in 2010: $361,330*

Average increase in compensation for those in the securities industry over the past 30 years: 11%

Average salary of Wall Street financiers against whom the protesters were protesting, according to Bloomberg (saying they “are struggling to make ends meet”): $45,000-$50,000

Average increase in compensation for private-sector employees outside securities industry during the past 30 years: 1.8%

Average price inflation rate during past 30 years: roughly 3%

Decline in average wage* of the average middle class family in past decade: 7%*

Decline in the average income of the average poor family in the past ten years: 12%

Number of times Bloomberg maintained that it was unwise to protest banks because it would discourage them from lending money* and so cost jobs: 2*

Rate at which the volume of commercial and industrial bank loans grew in the second quarter of 2011: 9.6%

Now, given these statistics, the main grievances of OWS are indeed justified.

Exactly, and because the Tea Party is angered and speaking a little louder and refusing to cooperate with the proposed insanity thus we see the liberal/conservative name calling which is an illusion. Sold and bought by the untinking mass and promoted by the Obama administration. We don’t have a problem with “Democrates”, we have a problem with this Godless administration which is further dragging a great country down the drain. Were at the end of the rope, reach up.

OWS has unemployed Union members down there now. Another fantasy. Who do you supppose has the money to meet Union demands on a Federal and State level??? They are Bankrupt. I’ve watched this for two years in education and heath-care. They bent over backwards to accomodate and all I heard was, “Well I have this degree and this degree” and we should be making such and such and amount of money. Another failure to grasp “economy”. In economy you recieve “fare wage”. You don’t recieve what you “think” you should. The fact that business goes out of business and pensions are lost has gone on since day one here. And they have little use for you when you hit 50+. Not a secret we “all” took the class. You don’t get out of this by crying about it.

When “you” produce a “profit” or “efficency” for a company you receive a increase of pay. No different than your own business. This isn’t rocket science. And because you don’t receive what you “think” you ought to, means what? Its means re-evaluate your effort and situation. Move to another career or employment. The crying doesn’t change anything. In fact it discourages others who are striving to carry your sorry rear-end.

Otherwise you rise above this by “saving” by spending your life with your “family”. They are the “only” aspect of this world along with a few close friends thats worth a conversation. And if you don’t base them on God first it will “not” exist at any meaningful level. It crumbles like all else you see. OWS has bought into secularism, relativism, atheism, materialism, and the idea that there is something shameful about going without. The jeolousy over those with more than you is astounding. What faith were you raised in?? Maybe you ought to study the Saints. There you find Poverty, Chasity, and Obedience, none of which you would know anything about. Instead of maxing out the credit cards trying to keep up with Puff Daddy and M+M, maybe you ought to see reality for what it is.

I never seem such Godless, spineless people in my life. Your heartless and God forbid you ever had to walk a mile in your Grandparents shoes. I’ve seen every kind of tragedy and poverty in this country and never have a seen such a thankless, give-me, give-me attitude as this. Turn off the Television and go to the library, go to church, you living an illusion promoted by evil. Sorry you can’t see REALITY.

You know in Egypt the word Copt means “Egypt” they have been there for 2000 years. What do you suppose they will do to YOU here??? Thats the thinking your buying into Democracy with no Religious Freedom. Be careful what you ask for. Do you think its by chance and some pious act all the Bishops in the USA are speaking out this year? Theres a war and it called Good and evil. And YOU are cooperating with EVIL.

Have you ever asked yourself why Islam is assaulting Christians? What do suppose Russia and China will do to Islam after the assault on the USA. They will CRUSH that nonsense. Take all their weath and slaughter them. The Christians in Russia who btw are still traumatized will again be persecuted.

Here’s your Future and your at the Crossroads…Now fix it or suffer the bondage. I’m sorry its like that. You cannot live in a Godless country and expect help from God. Sorry it doesn’t work this way. If that was the case God would have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. And sense that has never happened, then you could write the script for this country.

We need to build our own econmy, trade should be with “North and South America” not the middle kingdom. Later for the middle kingdom and what we owe them. Later for Islam and their petty evils. We have “no-time” left for that distraction.

NYC is not “new” to crime. Its been an “any-thing goes” area for a very long time. A few spinless, heartless fools does nothing to stop the heartbeat of the city. The Twin Towers didn’t stop it, do you suppose this will? They are not scared of OWS thats NYC. Crime exists 24/7 their. OWS will become part of the penal sysytem, that is all this will accomplish there.

I’ll tell you what though its a great indication of what we are facing as Christians in the upcoming election. Its going to be very dirty. We need Obama “gone”. I wouldn’t care if Sponge Bob ran the country at this point.

Peace

It’s ironic how the socialists who want us all to have a slower economy and less money, are picketing for more money. How many of them have studied how socialism works? Duh.

Ya, this crowd makes no sense. So, we take all the money away from the banks and corporations, thereby destroying the banking industry and international business, and now what? We go back to small plot family farming? Return to an agrarian culture on a global basis?

I agree with the things you said. Yes hard work is important but there are definitely many other factors involved. This is the case, not just with becoming rich, but also in other things like meeting your spouse, doing well at school or work, health conditions.
I wouldn’t say “luck” but rather a combination of providence and structural factors. Regardless of the way you look at it, those who are wealthy often do NOT become that way through hard work and setting priorities correctly alone. Well-off families tend to produce well-off children. Think of the doctors and lawyers and other professionals you know, and think about their adult children. They may have had to work hard to attain their success, but there are many who had to work equally as hard or harder than them yet make a fraction of what they make.

Why? They may lack the connections, the intelligence, the academic pressure placed on them by parents, or the simple experience of growing up in a well-off background that prepares individuals for entry as adults into the upper middle or upper class. All things equal, a person who comes from a working- or lower-class background and rises up into the upper-middle-class as a first-generation college graduate will probably have had to work much harder than a son of a doctor mother and a lawyer father.

Other things are fully out of the control of the individual. For example, a cancer diagnosis as an otherwise healthy young adult can cause major disorientation and medical bills.

This is NOT to say that we should engage in any redistribution scheme from the so-called “lucky” to the “unlucky”, but rather to demonstrate that the various achievements people have made can not be chalked up to “hard work” or things within the person’s locus of control. The force of external circumstances also has to be taken into account.

A clean, conservative culture and media makes it easier for kids and adults to stay clean and climb the ladder. An education is enlightening, but the cuture is too dirty for many kids to stay clean long enough to get the education. These shallow liberal feelgood social distractions are road blocks for ALL of us but especially hard on the poor, yet, they’re voting for more. It’s only going to create more dependents. If liberal politicians would actually fix the problem, their jobs would no longer be needed. Placing liberal social distractions in the way of the people will create dependency, not freedom. More Freedom is found among the more well educated because they know what they need to do to keep their kids clean enough long enough to repeat the cycle.

Brit Hume says they want want us all to be equally poor.

My 21 year old daughter is in her third studying economics and has become so conservative, it’s almost scary! She voted for Obama when she had just turned 18. She’s still coming to terms about her change of mind.😃

biggovernment.com/abreitbart/2011/10/14/crowdsource-this-social-list-emails-expose-occupywallstreet-conspiracy-to-destablize-global-markets-governments/

In keeping with the new media notion of crowdsourcing–enthusiastically embraced by the mainstream media when trawling through Sarah Palin’s emails–Big Government will be providing readers later today with links to a document drop consisting of thousands of emails.

The email archive, created by a private cyber security researcher, appears to contain messages shared by the left’s anarcho-socialist activists during the strategic and daily tactical planning of the “Occupy Wall Street” and broader “Occupy” campaign this fall.
Code:
*We’re in this for the long haul. There are no “solutions” that can be presented quickly to make us go away. And so there will be moments where our presence is no longer an uncomfortable and unknown variable, but rather is normalized and integrated. It’s in those moments that we have to push the envelop [sic], pry open the space of possibility even farther. We go as far as we can to destabalize [sic], but maintain momentum. And when that’s the new “normal” then we go farther. That’s how change happens, how we shift the terrain and the terms of the game.
