Communists and fascists are both left wing ideologies. One is international socialism, the other is national socialism. 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.
Right on. Whether of the International and De Jure variant (Communist) or the National and De Facto variant (Nazi), the inescapable inference to be drawn is that the terror actually experienced in real socialist countries springs from the nature of the socialist system.

Two of the best resources on the origins of Fascism are: the treatise *As We Go Marching *by John T. Flynn (1944) blog.mises.org/5772/as-we-go-marching-by-john-t-flynn/ along with Whittaker Chamber’s essay “The Anatomy of Fascism” published in The American Mercury, April 1944 books.google.com/books?id=6Q_21PmqXM8C&pg=PA92&lpg=PA92&dq=The+Anatomy+of+Fascism+Whittaker+Chambers&source=bl&ots=48lufSR2dm&sig=t81Zv9_5vooZWDmqKN9ZVmLIJLw&hl=en&ei=TkmbTorsMaft0gH9w7CqBA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&sqi=2&ved=0CCEQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false.

Is John Boehner a tea partier? I wonder?

Is Grover Norquist?

Bt their greed shall ye know them?

I’ll take the OWS protesters please!

This whole farce is increasingly reminding me of Cindy Shehhan and her “protests” remember when she was the media darling and the start of an uprising of angry Americans? Anybody know where she is today?

On the plus side, being an OWS protester is a pretty good training for a circus act. While six year of post-secondary has not been able to train these peeps for productive work, OWS just might.

What makes you think that John Boehner and Grover Norquist are greedier than the OWS protesters?

The true reality is that the OWS protesters represent less than 1% of the 99%, which would make them closer to the 0.9%.
The “mainstream” media is again doing it’s very best to cover and support openly anti-American sentiment while pretending to be “unbiased” journalists.

What makes you think that John Boehner and Grover Norquist are greedier than the OWS protesters?
Because they are both tea party darlings, and diametrically opposed to the goals of the OWS protesters.

You’ve got the tea party willing to let corps work their will in our govt.

Then you’ve got the OWS protesters, saying enough already, get these deep pocket corps out of our govt via constitutional amendment.

Please, take them…somewhere. Anywhere but here in the United States. I’m sure you could fit them all on a small island somewhere, I’d even support government funded transportation…one way.

Oh give me a break ishii. I could scour under every rock in my campus, interview hundreds of leftists before I would find one that wants to deny Israel statehood. That is an extremist position. Virtually all ‘leftists’ want a two state solution. Only people who get their information from political blogs might be mislead into thinking that they all want to abolish Israel. They are not hiding anything. Many of the people I know who criticize Israel’s policies toward the Palestinians are Jews themselves. Oh, that’s right, they must be self-hating Jews, right?
I think there are a lot of muslim students who are Jew haters (obviously) and the leftist activists see them as part of the oppressed that leftists focus on . If you go to a rally you will see all sorts of anti-Israel posters side by side with other posters representing the other pet lefty issues - abortion rights, wall street greed, unions, the environment, etc. The far left and the anti-Israel, anti-Jewish people are pretty much joined at the hip. Perhaps you might find a leftist professor or even Jewish leftist professor who is not anti-Israel but the activists on the streets are right there with the goals and aims of the muslim extremists.
Code:
I imagine I must be an anti-Semite as well, because I want the settlements to stop expanding. After all, to deny Israel’s God-given right to all the land between the Jordan and the Mediterranean is an anti-Semite II presume. Funny, you know, because you probably complain about liberals calling conservatives racists all the time. And yet, everyone who isn’t a Likudnik and occasionally fancies that an Arab is just as much a person as a Jew is, what? A racist!
And I suppose most Jews then, being on the left, are self-hating Jews? Now conservative gentiles are the authority on deciding who is or is not a good Jew? Interesting.
Just a lot of strawmen and sarcasm that makes you look silly, Raskolnicov.
Now this is just insane. She got bulldozed by the Israelis, and you’re blaming her college professor? That, you have to realize, is moral idiocy. Come on! The person who performs the act is the one responsible for it, or at the very least, the one most responsible for it. I’m guessing you think that an Israeli pilot who drops a bomb that kills a dozen civilians to nab one suspected terrorist is completely innocent; no, it’s Hamas that provoked him to do it. No, people have a choice in how they respond, they are not mere functions of their environments.
No its not insane, and spare the hyperbole. Rachel Corrie was a student at Evergreen State U. If you don’t think that young undergraduates can be indoctrinated by their professors then you have a lot to learn. I believe that the ideas taught to students can and does affect the actions of the students - usually affecting how they vote, but also inspiring them to take extreme actions like Rachel Corrie did. Ultimately Corrie is responsible for her own actions but professors ought to think about how their words and teaching can have an effect on others.
And opposition to neoconservatism is not anti-Semitism. That is ridiculous. Neo-conservatism a foreign policy ideology that favors intervention in foreign conflicts that use of military force , and many people call themselves neo-conservatives. Are you honestly saying that to criticize the Iraq War, or to criticize American support of the Saudi regime, is anti-Semitic, because I the neo-conservative agenda supports it, it is therefore Jewish, and to criticize it is anti-Semitic? Seriously, why don’t you try using logic for a change. Equating neo-conservatives with Jews is just nonsense. Most neo-conservatives are not Jews, and most Jews are not neo-conservatives.

And your generalization itself was wrong. Maybe, again, if you actually knew some of the people you’re libeling, you would see the ridiculousness of it. The overwhelming majority of the ‘leftists’ I know are not remotely anti-Semitic. Stop getting you information from right-wing blogs. How many of these so-called leftists do you actually know, that warrants you to make these generalizations?

And of course, anyone who cares for the welfare of the Palestinians is also an anti-Semite. Got it. They’re unpersons undeserving of sympathy or help. I suppose people who want to fight AIDS in the Conngo are Afro-centrists too then?
More hyperbole and strawmen- I can see I hit a nerve. I’m a bit disappointed but I shouldn’t be surprised when gullible people fail to open their eyes to what goes on campuses around the country.

I’m sure they will be welcome in Cuba or North Korea!

You think that the protesters are not greedy? If so, you have a complete lack of understanding regarding greed.

Also, the two groups are not “diametrically opposed.” The Tea Party is anti-taxation and anti-big government. That doesn’t make it a movement based on greed. It is a movement based on getting government out of the way.

Greed: An excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs or deserves, especially with respect to material wealth:

And by their deeds you shall know them:
huffingtonpost.com/jeff-norman/occupy-wall-street-zuccotti-park_b_1010317.html
“Although occupiers pride themselves on adhering to a strict and democratic decision-making method, it’s not clear how – or if – that procedure honors the wishes of park owners, besieged neighbors and various non-OWS users of the park. The movement’s overall mission has great legitimacy, but its land grabbing policy requires some elucidation.”

Newsflash…we’ve taxed the upper class earners progressively for the last hundred years in America. And won two world wars doing so

Only the tea partiers like boehner and norquist insist on ignoring that fact, despite their hero reagan raising taxes many times during his reign.

Flash We still tax the upper class progressively In fact the top 25% of all earners pay 84% of all Federal income taxes. Of course given woefull state of public education in his country I am sure very few of OSW realize this. I am sure they are part of the 47% that pay no income tax still think that’s too much.

Reagan suffered tax increases after the Democrat controlled House and Senate reneged on a deal to cut excess spending to counterbalance certain tax increases.

We financed two world wars by** borrowing** very heavily, nationalising most major industries and rationing all sorts of goods. The taxes levied on the “rich” upper class only paid for a fraction of the war effort.

The point being the richest paid progressively more than the poor, and we won both those world wars as a result of it.

Bush junior and obama are the only presidents to cut taxes during a hot shooting war, and just look at where that’s gotten us?

Do the math and pay your war bills like a principled conservative, like Ike, or Elvis did.

How can one make a strawman of a collection of assertions that is already so fantastically ridiculous?

I presume if they were taught to acceot your values it wouldn’t be indoctrination though? At any rate, who’d more to blame, the hypothetical college professor (which I suppose is just your way of assuming that she couldn’t possible believe what she thought on her own) who we can speculate brainwashed her into supporting Palestians’ rights (the horror!) indirectly leading her to take a trip to the West Bank or Gaza and get bulldozed… or the person who definitely existed who actually bulldozed her!! Which one is more morally culpable, ishii? I already suspect I know the answer. The one who disagrees with your politics, right?

So much for personal responsiblity being a conservative value in this country.
More hyperbole and strawmen- I can see I hit a nerve. I’m a bit disappointed but I shouldn’t be surprised when gullible people fail to open their eyes to what goes on campuses around the country.
In the end I suppose we’re going nowhere though. I’m waiting to be reasonably convinceed and you’re apparently waiting for me to have an epiphany on the road to Damascus.

Again, lack of an argument. All I ever see from you are assertions about the way things are, the way “the left” is, the way Muslims are, all these generalizations about things that you yourself by all evidence have no personal experience with. For me to believe anything you say, lacking any argument, or even attempt at an argument, to justify your assertions, would be the pinnacle of gullibility on my part.

Seriously, I’m supposed to believe that the bulk of my professors are deep down raving anti-Semites (even the many Jewish ones?) in spite of all I’ve heard or read of them because you just say so? And I’m gullible for not eating it up?

I think I’m done for tonight. I have to study for an exam tomorrow. You know, my professor has a Phd, so do you think he’s teaching anti-Semitic chemistry?

And, we’re still taxing the upper class earners progressively. What does that have to do with my post? I guess you are just ranting? 🤷
