Who here likes video games? Anyone?

Finally finished the original Tales of Graces game. Still have the Epilogue to beat, but that can come later. I really liked this game, but not as much as I enjoyed Vesperia. I think Graces has a great message to it about protecting those you love. That said, I never felt a strong attachment to the characters like I have in other RPGs, although I definitely enjoyed watching them interact with each other and progress toward their goal.

I’ll be starting Xillia very soon, and then I’ll finally get on to Symphonia. I think the Tales series does a great job of crafting quality games with great messages, or at least that’s been my experience.

I’m currently playing the Tomb Raider reboot. I’ve never played a Lara Croft game before, but I would have to say that I like that they set the game in Japan… and that Lara’s body is anatomically realistic. 😃

Legos! Legos! Legos! Oh, and Jurassic Park. It just came out this last Friday, the game, than is. I like the humor an puzzling of the Lego game franchise and so far, Jurassic Park is right up there with LOTR’s and City Undercover.

Good to know. I enjoy the Lego games. It’s one of the few video game series that my wife will play with me (because it’s cooperative and not competitive :p).

Lego is also getting in on the “toys to life” craze a la Skylanders and Disney Infinity with Lego Dimensions coming out this fall. I may have to pass on that money pit. 😛

Starwars the old republic announcement and the Battlefront are really interesting

Wait, I thought there already was an Old Republic game? Are they making another? I was always bummed that they decided to turn the franchise into an MMO. I wanted another single player like the first two.

Battlefront does look interesting though.

E3 related stuff!

This is No Man’s Sky, an ambitious game which lets you explore a galaxy. If you’re familiar with Spore and it’s galaxy stage, this is basically it on steroids.

Can’t wait! (Even though I don’t have a PS4) 😛

Interesting. What’s this pointed rocks floating a few feet off the ground obsession designers have lately?

I don’t play video games but I do look at a few of the Art Of books for them. Like Halo.

Recently finished Far Cry 4. I Learned that-
Riding elephants and using them to run over enemies is something I didn’t imagine I would enjoy so immensely;
Eagles are evil and
Hunting rhinos with a bow and arrow is suicidal.

These days I mostly play interactive fiction (text adventures). I’ve also been playing through some of the Myst games.

I enjoy video games, but I am a pretty limited gamer. PC is probably my main platform. On the PC I enjoy Heroes 3 (Heroes 5 is ok but I still prefer 3) and the Sims, Sim city, Sim societies, Sims Medieval, Rise of Nations, CivCity: Rome.

As you see these are mostly simulation, city builder type games, with some mild RPG elements in them.

I love the N64- Mariokart, Mario tennis, Supersmash Bros., Pokemon Snap, Super Mario, Zelda: Ocarina of time (of which I never got very far), and even some DonkeyKong. (I do not own a N64)

Gameboy- Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow! (I never got into the later generations) and a bunch of other games (My old gameboy finally broke, it wasn’t really mine anyways, but a hand me down after friend of my little sister got a gameboy color), but I emulate the games that I have on my tablet.

On the PS2 I love playing Final Fantasy x. Love that game.

On the Wii, I enjoy the Wii sports resort games (some of them), I enjoy the lego games, specifically I like Lego Harry Potter, I feel like they are the most logical. The Lego Lord of the Rings is pretty fun too. (Didn’t really care for the Lego Star Wars).

We recently acquired Skylanders Swap Team for our X-box360- which is fun, if a little childish/easy even for my limited abilities. Though the light system of loading is super cool, how fast it is. (I wish the games like that weren’t so darn expensive and basically merchandise cows for the makers). I otherwise dislike the x-box as it has no other games that I like or have found that are not found on other platforms like the wii.

I saw a while back that Skylanders has made over a billion dollars (I’m sure it’s more by now). Activision is certainly adept at making money through selling extra pieces of plastic with video games. (They were behind Guitar Hero, too.)

Oh I get it now, it’s an expansion pack. I was kind of hoping it would be a brand new game.
