For priests who say mass regularly, my favorites are Father Anthony (for his terrific sense of humor); Father Joseph for his meaningful homilies; Father Dominic for his knowledge, and Father Pacwa. My special favorite for his wide range of knowledge of any subject under the sun in his homilies is Father Wade Menezes. I never miss Father Groeschel during Sunday evenings. Overall, the priests of EWTN are already part of my everyday life.

I voted for Fr. Corapi,

I can honestly say that through him the Holy Spirit changed my life. Listening to him on EWTN after a huge party binge made me realize what a sad state my life was in. And that was one of the first steps towards change (and everybody knows the first steps are the hardest)

May God bless him always!

I acknowledged him as a man of God. I specifically said I intended no disrespect.

He is one of the most interesting priests YOU have ever known. Good for you. I have a much different opinion than you.

I am not required to agree with you to be a good christian. I am not required to have to ‘‘like’’ everyone to be a good christian.

I am not required to be afraid to express an opinion that is different to you to be a good christian.

I have to be charitable - which I believe I was. Im also not pretending or lying. Im being honest. When Fr. Groeshal comes on ETWN I switch over. Fact. Nothing uncharitable in that. Just a fact. I can’t stand the guy.

God bless him, and God bless you.
I think if you had wanted to sound charitable you could have worded things differently. While I’m sure it’s not your intention, you do sound rather hateful towards him. To say “I can’t stand him” sounds pretty bad. If you had said “I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but his talks aren’t my cup of tea” would have sounded fine. And I agree with the other poster, as a follower of Christ you are required to love everyone.

as for my vote, Fr. Mitch. He’s awsome, I’ve met him three times and he’s one of the kindest priests I’ve ever met. My mom is German, so whenever we see him he talks german to her.
Fr. Corapi is a close second, and I’ve met him too.

Father Groeschel is my favorite priest on EWTN. He’s so intelligent and has so much insight. I remember watching the station back in the late 80s and saw him talking about Jesus on the crucifix. He talked quietly but had a great message. And he has a sense of humor too.
Father Corapi would be my second choice. What a powerful speaker he is! Very inspiring.
And I also like Father Apostoli. He seems so kind and I just like his personality.

What happened to Fr. Francis (I think)—he was the host of “On the Rock” but not anymore…? I was non-practicing for a while and thus haven’t watched EWTN in a long time…

Fr. Benedict Groeschel.
I watch him every Sunday.
I also like Fr. Robert Levis and Fr. John Trigilio.
I listen to them on EWTN radio.

Father Francis left the priesthood to marry a particular woman he had met and fallen in love with. He was going to marry that woman. We never learned anything particular about her… or their relationship… other than what Father Francis actually said. It was a simple, serious statement that he had fallen in love with a particular woman and felt called to marry her… and so, unfortunately, would need to no longer live his life and practice as a priest. That, yes… there were definitely plans that the two of them would marry. But first, he had to take the steps to leave his ministry as a priest.

I don’t know, exactly, what the terms for that would be. It’s just that he was no longer, although his status as an ordained priest was part of who he IS because the Sacrament of Holy Orders is never “erased” from your soul… still… he was no longer going to “practice” his ordained priestly ministry.

I remember the last episode of “Life On the Rock” where Father Francis made this announcement on TV to all of us who were not members of Mother’s order at EWTN… or EWTN employees… or members of his own family and personal friends whom he had already told.

As usual for every episode of “Life On the Rock,” Father Anthony was sitting next to him during that “LIfe On the Rock” episode. Clearly, Father Anthony was solemn and sad while still, somehow, silently expressing his love for Father Francis. And Father Anthony did actually say out loud that all of them loved Father Francis and would continue to pray for his happiness.

I don’t have a specific favorite, but Fr Frank Pavone is remarkable and I’m a little curious as to why he’s not on the list. He’s said more Masses on EWTN than Fr Corapi (who is kick-butt powerful) and Fr Groeschel (who is humble yet wise). I also like Fr Pacwa and Fr Mark Mary. I also like the priest that looks like Ernie from the George Lopez show.

I like the Capuchin priest that was once on EWTN because my parish priest is also a Capuchin.

We love them all, We should show them our gratitude by keeping them as well as all the staff at EWTN in our prayers and between our gas and electric bills.

I like Father Pablo Straub.
Got to agree with you there! I almost joined his order in Pie de la Questa when I was younger - but he is getting up there in age - I just hope he’s able to be around a lot longer!
God Bless

Fr. Joseph is my favorite homilist, but Fr. Miguel is my overall favorite.

I love Fr. Jim Gigliotti, TOR
He’s one of the best priests I know. Fr. Joey Pilola is also a future OSB, I’m quite fond of him too.

It appears that the number one ranking on this poll indicate that faith and popularity should never be married.

Fr Benedict Groeschel! He is knowledgeable, compassionate, funny, and well-spoken.

I like Fr Wade and his in your face and to the point homilies. Not to mention the way and style that he uses to sing mass. 🙂

As for MFVA priests with me it is a tie between Fr’s Anthony and Dominic. Fr Anthony for his simple humor and common sense and Fr Dominic for his review of what is sin and other topics most people don’t want to hear. 🙂

The way I look at it is most people who don’t like a certain priest because of his homilies is because they are either boring homilies or make them sweat and feel uncomfortable—the subject they speak on is hitting “too close to home” as far as their life and shortcommings is concerned. Those are good priests to me if they can get me thinking about me, my life and sin.
:blessyou:
