As I said before, If Obama wins, expect the Catholic Church to start firing people left and right. They don’t have much time to get done what they’ll need to get done.

If it doesn’t happen right away, it’ll be because they’re waiting for legal decisions but they can’t wait long.

If Obama wins, it’s going to get ugly.

There’s still an attitude of disbelief out there, but it’s temporary, trust me. This is where the “rubber hits the road.”

Code:
What will happen if the HHS regulations are not rescinded? A Catholic institution, so far as I can see right now, will have one of four choices: 1) secularize itself, breaking its connection to the Church, her moral and social teachings and the oversight of its ministry by the local bishop. This is a form of theft. It means the Church will not be permitted to have an institutional voice in public life. 2) Pay exorbitant annual fines to avoid paying for insurance policies that cover abortifacient drugs, artificial contraception and sterilization. This is not economically sustainable. 3) Sell the institution to a non-Catholic group or to a local government. 4) Close down … "
Hospitals will be sold for what we can get out of them. Diocesan operations will be closed or the diocesan employees will be fired; they will be restaffed with volunteers and independent contractors paid by the hour. Religious orders will have to close their apostolates and go indoors to serve only Catholics, or be withdrawn by their generalates in Rome.

If Obama is re-elected tomorrow, the face of the Church in the United States is going to change, and change dramatically.

Anyone who serves the general population will have to stop doing so or be re-classified as a non-Church employee. In order to avoid being penalized by the HHS mandate one has to apply for and receive a religious exemption. ALL FOUR REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET:

"The exemption is only for a “religious employer,” defined as "one that (1) Has the inculcation of religious values as its purpose; (2) primarily employs persons who share its religious tenets; (3) primarily serves persons who share its religious tenets; and (4) is a non-profit organization under section 6033(a)(1) and section 6033(a)(3)(A)(i) or (iii) of the [Internal Revenue] Code." HHS notes that these provisions of the Code refer to “churches, their integrated auxiliaries, and conventions or associations of churches, as well as to the exclusively religious activities of any religious order.”"

Note the phrase “exclusively religious activities of any religious order.” Exclusively religious activities are those activities which meet the definition for an exemption. Operating soup kitchens, food banks, counseling centers, clinics or any other public institution which serves the general public WILL CAUSE them to lose the exemption. Basically in order to keep their exemption, they’re going to have to go home, lock themselves in and spend the day doing religious things only with other Catholics.

This takes effect JANUARY 1ST, 2013.

I have no idea how you could not know this. People have been talking about it since FEBRUARY. I’ve been pasting it all over the place since FEBRUARY. Catholics make me shake my head. It’s shocking how many of them are just plain clueless.
A lot of people have no clue what the exemption means and how narrow it is. Any Catholic organization/charity that serves anyone besides Catholics, will NOT be exempt. If a group of Catholic sisters runs a maternity home for those escaping from Abortion, and serve the women REGARDLESS OF RELIGIOUS BACKGROUND (meaning, serves them even if they are lutheran, etc) they are NOT exempt. They would have to pay FINES for not buying insurance with contraceptive coverage.

My Diocese has a new service, a home for women escaping domestic violence and for those at risk for abortion. They serve women of ALL FAITHS. Even though it is staffed by non cloistered religious sisters, they also have therapists, etc. Since they serve NON CATHOLICS, they will probably NOT BE EXEMPT!

This is why I am hoping we won’t be punished with another 4 years of Obama, because those Catholic charities that perform the Works of Mercy will either be forced to work in secret or be forced to shut down due to FINES!

Do tell. Please substantiate your statement with logic, facts, catechetical evidence, or something. Anything other than a bald statement of belief that, on it’s face, valueless.
Is it possible that Pitcharan lives underneath a bridge? :hmmm:

I really pray it is not Obama. I just cannot understand how any Catholic can vote for him. I said that to people in 2008 mainly in regard to his stance on abortion and they were not concerned about that at all. Now look at the mess we are in (HHS mandate). I still do not understand how V.P. Biden and Nancy Pelosi are still able to claim to be Catholics. Why can the Chuch not excuminicate them? Just wondering. I will probably vote for Romney, but only to try and vote Obama out. I wish Ron Paul were on the ballot.

I’d hold off buying crepe if I were you.

You are correct. They will not be able to get the exemption according to the rules set by the HHS mandate unless they stop doing that kind of work with non-Catholics.

If they choose to keep doing what they’re doing the fine is $100 per sister per day, for a grand total of $36,500 per sister per year in taxes for just this one thing.

If they choose to drop all insurance and expect the sisters to buy their own, then the fine is $2000 per year plus other penalties plus the order will be subsidizing abortion with the money they give the sisters for insurance. This is not acceptable as it is contradictory to their purpose for being.

If they refuse and practice civil disobedience, the IRS will re-classify them as a business without an exemption and they will go to jail for tax evasion. And it will not take long. Businesses pay in to the IRS on a regular basis throughout the year, and resisting payment will cause trouble immediately.

I pray for the sake of the unborn, marriage and religious freedom Romney wins

I’ll watch and I’ll see that it’s not my side that is paranoid. 🤷
There’s no paranoia to it. The HHS mandate is now the law of the land, upheld by the Supreme Court. If Obama is re-elected, it will stand and we will pay. We don’t have time to do anything about it now if this election turns against us. Time is too short. This thing is going to take effect in a matter of months if Obama is re-elected.

Well now it is time for you to predict who will win the US Presidential Election
I voted for Romney. But it depends on how many " Obama Phones " we bought for Democratic voters, how " loyal " Catholics vote, how successful the Democratic fraudulent vote effort is, how many Evangelicals can put their prejudices aside, how gullible Americans really are.

A lot to overcome. 👍

If you don’t understand that, you don’t understand the Catholic Church’s answer.

The Catholic Church doesn’t have to excommunicate them. They’ve done what they’ve done to themselves. The Church knows that causing a big stink in public isn’t going to solve anything. It is what it is.

God will permit whomever.

It’s all in His hands and His will will always triumph

Yes, well this is true, but it can be painful for human beings to get through the details nevertheless.

If Catholics don’t vote to stop this, they get no sympathy from me when the whining starts. They will have brought this down upon themselves by their carelessness and apathy and ignorance.

Will I still be able to donate items to a multifaith outreach program operated out of an Episcopal church in my county where meals are served numerous days of the week, and food and clothing distributed free of charge to the homeless and others among the general public in need?
