Who will you be supporting in the U.S. presidential election with our Catholic values in mind?

You like Rand Paul? He was my second choice in 2016. Trump my third.
I voted for Paul in the primaries last election, and Gary Johnson (begrudgingly) in the general. I’ve been a Ron Paul fan for years, so Rand was an obvious choice for me.

Genesis 9:6 God tells Noah “whoever sheds the blood of man, by man his blood shall be shed”

I didn’t realize Catholics are now forbidden from abiding by Holy SCripture.
Fascinating how doctrine develops… Mostes allowed divorce… Jesus does not… Noah seems to have allowed bloodshed for bloodshed (doesn’t really say death does it?)… The Church says not admissible to the death penalty… Given the God entrusted teaching to the Church, I’ll abide.

o that was God the Father who said that. Are we now to reject God the Father and Holy Scripture? Did God the Father not mean what he said? Just asking.
I’m simply abiding by what the Church teaches… Given that God entrusted the Church with teaching authority.

Sigh…I miss the good doctor so much.

I don’t disagree with you, so why would I address your argument? I’m addressing the lack of compassion in the tone of your voice on a Catholic forum.

Okay, let me leave you with this:

Debating is not about winning, it is not about exposing your opponents flaws. It is about finding the truth together, because we care about each other’s well being. I think Aquinas would want you to know that.

What is the recent development you are referring to? I struggled with this concept for a while, and last time I researched it, the Church did allow for the death penalty. However, it is supposed to be reserved as a last resort, such as if you were to plane crash on an island with a murderer and have no way to detain them and protect the rest of the passengers.

I don’t think religious liberty can be tested against existing laws, because the laws were originally written with religious liberty in mind. Measuring religious liberty against existing laws would mean we can’t change a law that is wrong, like the legalization of abortion.

Glad you enjoyed it! I thought it was interesting. There are a lot of questions that even helped make me more aware of all of the issues. I just wish it was more up to date since Kasich has said he probably won’t run and 3 other candidates that are running aren’t listed.

I think that the death penalty for Federal crimes was reinstated in 1988.

But the application of the death penalty is generally a State issue. If someone receives a sentence of death, it generally takes over ten years for it to take place, if ever. There is nothing that a President can do to make that process any speedier. Appeals are mandatory.

But a million unborn babies receive a sentence of death every year, with no appeal possible. And no Democratic nominee will oppose those deaths.

The evangelical prophets have ideas. Like Kim klament. John Paul Jackson. Randy Clark. Johnathon cahn.mark Taylor.
So much has been written why God choose Donald Trump

They believe things that are in violation of Catholic teaching. Spirituality has nothing to do with it. If they agreed with Catholicism, they’d be Catholic.
