Why are there a lot of misinformed and frankly uneducated Catholics that frown upon orthodox Church teachings and Traditions that were otherwise belov

Why let other people’s being upset get to you? Life is short and eternity is forever.
There was an emoticon on a French language form that said, “Je suis Catho.” I would say the same thing, but I say it with a smile.

Exactly!

John 14: 6: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.

John 18: 38: Pilate saith to him: What is truth?

He had Truth Incarnate standing in front of him and didn’t believe.

Parcel, Domine…

Kyrie, eleison!

it seems with each passing generation Catholics are becoming more and more passive and indifferent to their faith.
I haven’t read any of the thread–but what I’m seeing personally gives me a great deal of hope. I was raised in an era when I feel CCD/ Sunday School/ my parents failed me. They were wrapped up in cafeteria Catholicism and Jesus loves you, not much more to know.

I think many, like me, felt that we were missing something and went out looking. In a couple decades + of raising children, I have met many families who have turned strongly back to traditional Catholicism. I raised my kids teaching them much more of the faith and what we believe and why, than I was ever taught and I’m now watching my kids turn even more strongly to their Catholic faith.

Not only that, I’m seeing my previously rather liberal Catholic church become more conservative and speak more strongly to Catholic teaching. I’m seeing an uprising of kids attending Catholic retreats where they actually PRAY and go to Mass daily, where the kids are on fire for God and the Catholic faith. I’m seeing Father Mike Schmitz become a hit with young people.

I think we as humans have that ‘God-shaped hole’ in our heart and I think the younger generation is feeling the emptiness of what the modern world has given them, and are seeking Him out in deeper ways than we’ve seen for generations.

Keep in mind, Fr. Ripperger was part of the FSSP - a group that fought directly against the Church (in its origins).
The FSSP is the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter which was founded in 1988 as an alternative to the SSPX. PJPII in his encyclical Ecclesia Dei Adflicta decreed:

c. moreover, respect must everywhere be shown for the feelings of all those who are attached to the Latin liturgical tradition, by a wide and generous application of the directives already issued some time ago by the Apostolic See for the use of the Roman Missal according to the typical edition of 1962.(9)

I didn’t cite (a) and (b) because those sections are no longer in effect.

You do know they separated from the SSPX after the illicit episcopal ordinations, yes? The priests who created the SSPX were originally a part of the SSPX.

First of all, that is a private revelation. Not sure of the exact policy but watch yourself.

Second,
there truly is a brand new church, a new order (Novus Ordo), and the true church has been reduced in population to a mere shell of what it once was
Heretical. Insulting to all those who worship in the OF. We are not outside of the Church just because we worship in masses established by VII and the Church has not been destroyed by the council. You would do well to listen to Catholics and not schismatics who deny the validity of the OF.

Once in a while you’ll find “new age” Christians and very modern Catholics that will say that the Church shouldnt “going back” or falling behind the times.
Q: Why even pay attention to them? IMO, might as well get undergarments in a bunch over what atheists say.

What’s the point here?
I’m not bashing the FSSP. Far from it, I love them. My first TLM was celebrated by an FSSP priest. But the post I responded to made it sound (to me at least) that the Vatican just found priests who never went with the SSPX.

My quote was about Pope Pious X111 Vision not what you think and accuse me of and certainly not inciting schism. Your wording does however insight schism. I had no intention of conveying such.

Pope Pious X111 vision was of a conversation he heard between Satan and God, Satan requesting a 100 year reign.
That’s Pope Leo XIII. The last pope named Pius was Pius XII (12)
